I Think the whole Princess of Freindship thing has given Twilight a bit of an ego. She must think she can solve anything because Friendship. Okay yes the show is working in her favour for that exact reason but still she thought she could defeat Starlight at her village with words alone. had a point in there somewhere

Nope, I couldn't find it, I've noticed no mental change between Twi season 1 and season 8

The biggest difference is that she's not as introverted as she was back in season 1, but she's still the same, adorkable Twilight.
