Alright kids let's play nice. Our sentient love isn't as sentient as we make it out to be. each species has it's own way of showing it's intentions but deep down it's all the same basic stuff making itself known. As a man of a more natural mind I can easily say that both of your are right, at least in action. Trying to defend one's mate is exactly what an species would do first off to any threats or potential threats. So ghostie's number one fan, just means that he has the most material manifestation of his intentions. So starry's got a tulpa, that just means he's willing to go as far as possible to be with his love. Again though both are acting as they should in situations with a mate or a possible mate. Unfortunately all those get you is so far when defending your said love interest. Now if you find someone who's more naturally in tune with how the primal basics work they have a more increased chance of defending her (especially if said person knows about what factors decide battles, is instinctually adept, and very angry most of the time) to the death if need be. Now instead of all these wars over the lady, though she might be somewhat pleased at how much attention and affections she'd be getting, let us not upset her by fighting over her and all agree on one thing; That we all love the mare from the plane of equestria but each of us has a little version of rare in whatever shape or form that we use as a medium to send the great lady of fabulousness our love.
