Trust me, this guy had a Rarity cutie mark tattoo! Oh yeah, I also went to a CCG game and I bought the Canterlot nights Rarity deck!

Is it just me or is it for the past week the fan club has been, well almost dead! We used to post hundreds of posts a day! What's happened?!

Is it just me or is it for the past week the fan club has been, well almost dead! We used to post hundreds of posts a day! What's happened?!

We've never posted hundreds of posts a day. We've consistently added 2 - 3 pages worth of posts to our count every day, though, which means that we usually get between 40 and 60 posts a day - much more than the other fan clubs, who top out at 20 posts a day.

 

We're still on track - it just seems slower because the breaks between posts aren't as a rapid fire. We'd get a bunch of posts and then there'd be a long pause in the past. Now, the pauses are shorter and the posts are more spaced out.

It got calmer though, maybe it has to do something with the end of season four?

That plays a role in it - as well as what I mentioned above

 

The whole forums usually slow down a bit when the show's not in season, and people are still adjusting to this. MLP Forums is still the largest brony forum by a landslide, and we still have more people online than any of the other forums in this fandom at any given time. However, there's the seasonal fans, who usually are here when the show's in season and then go onto something else until the next season, then there's the dudes like me, who hang around regardless of whether the show's in season. Either way, the seasonal fans leaving slows the activity down a bit.

what responses would ya'll muster to the accusation that, in Manehattan, Rarity was only being generous with the expectation of favors from those she was generous with.

 

I know what I would say but I want your guys' thoughts as well, untainted.

Manehattan is a big city, and A.) seeing the same pony twice would be highly unlikely and B.) the scenarios she was in where she received help from ponies whom she had previously helped were highly improbably of happening and the expectation receiving something in return from the same ponies she had helped previously in the situations she received help in  make it something that anypony with common sense wouldn't count on - and Rarity has common sense to spare.

From my review of the episode:

 

"That is what makes Manehatten so splendid and amazing... you do something nice for somepony, and then you never know when they'll do something nice for you!"

This line in particular could possibly be misunderstood or taken out of context. Rarity is not saying she is only generous because of what she can get out of other ponies. She is making an observation that the good fortune of getting tickets for her friends came about because she did something generous for someone else, and that incident is typical of Manehatten. And then she shared that blessing with her friends. Besides which, it's really just a restatement of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It's not quid pro quo. She certainly couldn't have foreseen that she would need a taxi, and decided to help the cabbie because he would help her later. She didn't even need to ask for help, it was offered.

 

As for the song, it shows a number of ponies whom she helped, who never returned the favour. So she isn't going around being generous to get things in return, but she acknowledges that it's nice when it happens. As Rarity sings, it's her way of life to give freely to others.

All jokes aside, that's one of the numerous flaws in what I consider to be the worst episode in the series? Why couldn't they save Rarity? All that episode did was make other characters look bad so RD could look like a badass, which makes me want to vomit. It'd be like that with any character, though...except Rarity, because she's perfect
