My favorite pony is Trixie, so yea.

 

1. The fact that everyone hates Trixie is one reason, as I can't say a lot of people like me too much.

 

2. Trixie's cutie mark. Since she became an exile, she can't exercise her special talent, of which is flashy magic. So she can't do anything.

 

3. She's one of the most controversial characters, which are generally my favorite characters.

My favourite's Pinkie Pie, of course, so here we go.

 

1) Pinkie Pie has overwhelming spirit. It seems that everything she says, or does, has tons of enthusiasm packed into it, which ties in with her optimistic outlook on life.

 

2) She is absolutely dedicated to her friends - to the point where she writes an entire song about how nothing pleases her more than seeing a smile on her friends' faces, and undergoes a mystical cloning process so that all her friends can be pleased. It's the most heartwarming thing in the show for me.

 

3) She has the most spectacular range of talents. She seems to be good at just about everything. Baking, musical instruments, ice skating, contortionism, stand-up comedy, song-writing & singing, hosting parties and defying physics.

 

4) She fits into the My Little Pony universe and franchise substantially well - seeing and knowing everypony within the town, displaying the positivity and lessons to be learned that are looked for in a good cartoon, and adding that element of uniqueness to our fandom in the fact that she's bright pink and totally giggly.

 

5) She wrote the best song of the entire show, Smile Smile Smile. I cannot stop watching that song on Youtube, and listening to it on Winamp. It makes me glad that I can enjoy these sorts of things, and the uplift of the song plus the rest of her character in general has completely changed how I look on life myself. It's all owed to this pink ball of happiness.

1. Pinkie Pie is funny and can bring a smile to other when they are down.

 

2. It's always fun to see what new funny thing she is up to. Weather its working at Sugercube corner, ice skating, throwing parties, or baby sitting, it's always fun to see what she's up to next.

 

3. She's a great singer. The Smilie, Smile, Smile song always brings a smile to my face.

 

4. Is always willing to help out her friends when they are having problems.

 

5. Pinkie Pie being able to break the forth wall is just a joy.

1: I find Rainbow very relatable in many ways, especially when she uses bravado to mask insecurity.

 

2: I admire her dedication to her friends and her principles when the chips are down. When Changelings are invading, empires are falling and people are trying to con you out of your farm, there's no one else who I'd choose to have my back.

 

3: I admire her dedication to an impossible and crazy goal and how she refuses to settle for less than her wildest dreams.

 

4: She's really cute

 

5: I love watching her grow as a character, mainly because we all have to fight innate character flaws to do what is right at times, and whenever she does this it is very satisfying to me

3. She's an exile that is feared and doesn't have many friends, which is kinda relatable.

I have 4 favorites I go back and forth with:

 

1. Vinyl Scratch

- Dubstep DJ (so much win)

- Her man is freaking amazing with blues

- THOSE GLASSES <3

- Her best friend is: Octavia (kinda of like my friends and I, were into different things)

- There's not much very well known about her, I love all the mystery behind it

 

2. Spitfire

- DAT MANE. SO spiked and awesome

- She's demanding yet adorable <:

- She's a wonderbolt which is just awesome

- She's a pegasus (Have always been my favorite)

- She's a badass girl who's not afraid to be herself

 

3. Scootaloo

- How can you NOT lover her? She's adorable

- She's also a pegasus but is still trying to get her cutie mark so she does tons of wacky things

- She's got a purple mane, who doesn't love purple manes?

- She's different then all the other girl ponies (butch styled)

- She looks up to rainbow dash, as an idol and a older sister type, which I think is adorable

 

4. Rainbow Dash

- She has always been my favorite pony since I first saw the show when I was a baby

- We both have rainbow hair (SUPER WIN)

- She's not afraid to stand up for her friends, she's very loyal to them

- Acts as an older sister to Scoot (awwwwww <3)

- Is just all around badass, especially that sonic rainboom <3

 

All in all, all 4 are simply amazing and I can't get over it <3

It's really hard to choose just one, but if I ended up having too- it'd be Vinyl. :3

Mine would be Rarity.

 

1. Her generosity. She's so caring that she'll go out of her way to make her friends happy.

 

2. Her over-the-top attitude. It's kind of like me, in a way. If I do something, I want it to be or seem like it's the best ever. And if something goes wrong, it sometimes feels like The. Worst. Possible. Thing. Ever!

 

3. The ability to handle herself. Although she portrays a lady, she can get what she wants by manipulating minds.

 

4. Her dislike of dirt. I hate getting dirty too, and I avoid it as much as possible. I mean, I play football, etc. but just walking down the street? Nah, I'll stay clean.

 

5. She's a marshmallow.

1) Her overall design. I really like the simplicity of her colors.

 

2) Her mane and tail. I'd go so far as to say they're even more luxurious than Rarity's

 

3) The fact that she's a musician. And orchestral at that.

 

4) According to fannon, she's very poised and proper, but still has a very innocent and fun loving side.

1) Having an amazing flair for the dramatic

 

2) Somehow managing to be egocentric and vain, yet kind and giving.

4) Generally acts very ladylike, but will get down and dirty and even *fight* you for the sake of her loved ones.

 

5) She's happiest when she makes her *friends* happy.

1. Her cuteness knows no bounds and every episode she seems to act cuter and cuter.

This is harder then it looks. I couldn't say which 5 traits i love the most, but i'll just post 5 traits, that i do like of Celestia.

 

1) Her Kindness.

3) Her Spirit.

4) Her Dedication.

1. I love her 18th century accent. I just love the fact that she talks like a lady would talk.

2. She's an artist. Yes, fashion designing I consider an Art. And she's really good at it.

3. She has some great facial expressions. Like in Ponyville confidential, when she reads the article about her and goes "I'LL DESTROY HER!", I fell off my seat.

4. Sure, she can be selfish, but she can also be generous. I mean, her element is generosity. She can also be a narcissist, but so can Rainbow Dash.

5. She just seems to always be in a good mood. Well, almost always.

Pinkie Pie, of course~

 

1. She lives to make others happy. I can related to that, and I think it is an admirable trait for anyone to have. She's the picture of benevolence, or kindness for kindess' sake. 

2. PINK, PINK EVERYWHERE. Her entire character design is the loud and springy type of cute I like! Curls, fluffs, bouncing, etc., are all things I like. 

3. Twilight was born and raised in Canterlot, Applejack on the Apple family's farm, Rarity was born in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were born in Cloudsdale, and Pinkie... was born on a rock farm. A rock farm. Her background is the most troubled, and she is the peppiest and happiest out of all of them. I like that.

4. She's an extremely well-written character. As I've said before, she's the 'goofy/random' character, and it isn't often that such a character is also knowledgeable about useful things (such as with the parasprite issue or with her whole Pinkie sense). While the other characters are also well written, this trope turned into a better character impresses me a lot.

1. Love her design. She's so unique. The cute little hat, her freckles, her blonde mane.... She has that country vibe to her, and I love it. Not to mention her colors are probably the most natural looking of any pony.

 

2. Her accent is cute. She's got a nice signing voice.

 

3. She's a dog lover. Winona is also very cute.

 

4. Her association with all things apples. I mean, who doesn't love apples and all the good stuff you can make with them?

 

5. Her personality traits - honesty, morality, hard-working, practical, dependable, stubborn, outgoing, strong, friendly, playful, supportive, I could go on. She isn't as extreme in her personality as the others, but she's got all of the traits a perfect friend would have, and I wish more people in the world were like her.

 

Meh, only five? I'm just scratching the surface here, but I could go on all day about every one of my favorites. =)

I could give you 5 million reasons why I love Applejack but that is a wall of text nobody would read so I think I can managed 5.

 

1. I love her accent: seriously they get that nice balance of having that southern drawl without making her sound like an inbred hillbilly and it is actually kind of sexy.

 

2. She is not afraid to speak her mind: I love characters that shoot from the hip and say things that alot of people (in this case ponies) don't want to hear.

 

3. Family is very important to her: I grew with a fairly close family that kind of drifted apart due to deaths, divorces and a whole lot of other factors I don't have time to get into and I kind of miss that. My father passed away last March and I understand why Applejack tried so hard to make the Apple family reunion perfect, it seems like much of it came from a desire to honor the memory of her parents. I have been thinking a great deal since my father died in what he would want me to do with my life and much of that is fueling my resolve to become a published author.

 

4. She is hard working: I could easily imagine her saying "I ain't never trusted a bit I never earned" as a matter of fact she will say this line in this fanfic I am working on where this money duplication spell causes massive hyperinflation in Equestria. These days too many people are spoiled and have some sense of entitlement to have everything handed to them, I am glad they put a character like Applejack in this show to show people the value of an honest days work. I may hate my job and may be trying to get the hell out of there but I wouldn't be where I am today if I was lazy.

 

5. She is hot: that mane, those freckles, that plot.

2. The darkness soothes me. I feel at home when it's the moon that shines on the land instead the gigantic hateball known as the sun.

3. Her personality is near perfect to me . Her honesty is highly praised in mah book, she ain't afraid to get dirty (Not in THAT way, but who knows), she's got a bit of a tomboyish part of her which I like (Means she's not all stuck up like Rarity), is kind, sweet, hardworking, and also has that stubborn personality I share but is easier to get by IMO.

4. Her strength and will even with dead parents is remarkable. Able to keep the farm in order even without the help of her parents.

5. Is a great sisterly figure. Her relationship with AB is super cute and super touching at time :')

Here we go!

 

1. Applejack has a simultaneously down to earth and bouncy personality with an irresistible charm that is surpassed by none. I can't stop myself from smiling when she walks on screen. And I definitely agree with one of the above posters about her design; it's the epitome of the term "Southern belle". 

 

2. Applejack has a good sense of humor, especially when it comes to sarcasm. You know why Hearth's Warming Eve is the funniest episode in the series? This. This, right here, is why. And her earnest personality makes her quirks both really adorable and very funny. Dat race in Apple Family Reunion.

 

3. She's received the third most character development in the series after Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. Not only does she learn from her lessons and consistently apply them, but over the seasons, she has become much more open minded and generally more mature. In Season 3, she's good friends with Rarity, which would... not have happened in Season 1. She also treats Applebloom less like a baby and acts less competitive. 

 

4. You can tell that she works very hard to be both a sisterly and a motherly figure to Applebloom. I mean, everything about her parents... just woah. Applejack is a character that is vividly painted here. Her parents died in her childhood, forcing her to take up a lot of responsibility at a young age and deeply traumatizing a happy little filly. In my personal canon, she ran away to Manehattan soon after this in order to escape her grief, probably a part of the tale that Applejack didn't want to tell to the cheerful CMC. Ever since she got her cutie mark, she's been working tirelessly to make something for the Apples that her parents could be proud of and to make sure that Applebloom never has to go without a mother like she did. If you don't want to give Applejack a big hug after that, you have no soul.

 

5. Applejack is thoroughly human. No, she still has hooves and a tail and such, I'm talking about her personality here. Sure, on the outside, she seems practically perfect in every way. Whenever she has a problem, she goes ahead and deals with it. She's rational, mature, and always willing to do whatever job needs to be done.

 

Applejack also completely overworks, overblames, and overloads herself to do this. That's what she's had to do all her life. When mom and dad died? There's still work to be done at the farm and a sister to raise. Applejack feels like she can't let herself go. Unlike Twilight, who has somewhat similar problems with letting herself fail, Applejack won't tell anypony else about her feelings. In Lesson Zero, Twilight openly admitted to all of her friends that she was worried and nervous. Applejack had two different episodes centered around the fact that she cannot do this, or at least that she convinces herself that she can't. And this makes sense. It's a complex that she has built up around the fact that she had a lot of pain and grief in her past and had to pretend it didn't exist because there was too much work to do to spend time dwelling on emotions. 

 

Gentlemen, here in a cartoon about colorful little ponies we have a character who has a complex built around her parents' death and her inability to express her grief. That is some dark shit.

 

But what of that "element of honesty" thing? It makes this story have a heartwarming conclusion. Applejack has made an environment for her family of openness and trust and has become a mare that everypony can trust. And slowly but surely, Applejack is beginning to let herself be a normal pony and not a superheroine. And I'll be along with her for the ride.
