I think the biggest problem the PS4 is going to have is that the PS3 is so good and it can already do most of what the PS4 is capable of that it will be awhile before people who are like me and don't really have the money for one to buy it. Especially if games like these are going to be launched on both PS3 and PS4 platforms. PS4 is not going to be Backwards compatible and that will be another thing i think will slow people down from getting it. I know its supposed to come out "Holiday 2013" maybe i can get someone to buy it for meh on Christmas

One thing i really will enjoy about the PS4 is Dualshock 4. Being able to save gameplay and share it like that will be huge.

Ew, social interaction.

Still, I hear the PS4 has some pretty decent hardware behind it. I'm not going to stand in line buying it opening day, but I might be interested in getting it after a few months or so if reviews are good.

I'm not really  console gamer anymore, so this hardly concerns me.

However, I must offer a warm thumbs-up.  This is some good-looking stuff.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

Pretty excited about the PS4 so far, I thought the PS4 wouldn't be able to play used games but apparently that was just a rumor and was confirmed that it was able to play used games, so thats one thing I'm happy about xP

Although I'm mostly excited for the upcoming games, even though I'll have to wait a long time for it.

Gimmicks and accessories really doesn’t matter the great fall of the PS franchise during this generation was caused because of the lack of GOOD games during the PS3 launch and well 2 whole years after it. Also the fact that Microsoft’s console was released one year before kept the PS3 (in my opinion the best console of this generation) far from the average gamer liking.

Now we have a release date that will push Microsoft to do a move, that in the best of cases for them will set the release date of the XB720 very close to the one of the PS4 and the launch lineup for games looks really good, in comparison to the one of the ps3 from years ago.

Looks like Sony has learned a lesson and with the rumored price between $425 and $525 the things look a lot better than the last time they launched a home console.

Oh lookey.... a New PlayStation model. How drole. You'd think they would at least Re-name the damned thing..... but no they go with PS4, driving that pitiful brand down our throats once again with a machine that does exactly what its predisessor did only ""better""

Ok my rant is done. for now.

Its not bad but its using a variant of AMD's Jaguar CPU which is horrendous to say the least. First thing is people are calling it an 8 core or octo-core CPU when it simply isn't. Its a quad core with 2 integer units for every FPU. On top of that, the FPUs used in Jaguar are half baked versions of those used in AMD's own FX line of CPUs as its meant for tablets and low power PCs and its clocked at 1.6GHz. Moreover, the best report I've seen on the GPU side puts it a few clusters short of a 7970m, which puts it 5% if not moreso behind a desktop 7850. So right out of the gate, it's already holding games back. On the upside, FX CPU owners and those on HT enabled Intel CPUs should be happier due to better parallelism.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

If I remember the 'Broadband Cell' was one dedicated CPU and 7 secondary cores.  Not to mention on the PS3 they had to add a Geforce 6800 Ultra 'at the last minute' so to speak.

My biggest concern is Sony's model of newer hardware models continually removing features.  The Xbox S adds WiFi and more USB ports while the newer PSP/PS3s remove things I felt important (The PSP's charge gauge no longer works as per software and the PS3 lost Linux, its slot loader, LEDs, touch buttons, etc.)

I would try out the PS4, if I get my hands on one. I had a hard time getting a PS3, and getting a PS4, ill probably be 40. Haha, no but, it looks fine and all...but I don't know, depends on what games come out on it and then ill consider getting one.

Oh i just saw a video about the PS4 game lineup

NEW INFAMOUS YAY!!! :D anyway i think the lineup for the ps4 is looking pretty good

I liked what I saw. Mainly the whole "You can play a game and if your friend is watching have him play for you".

I think that's really cool, since it helps give games a more social feel.

What happened to the whole playing with you though?  It would be nice for more coop games besides first person shooters since both get the have fun at the same time.

That is a good point. Im sure Sony has some stuff brewing for E3 in terms of coop.

Especially considering they have LBP, which I think is personally a greta coop game.

It's looking very promising, especially the watch. Just the scale of the environment is amazing. I'll still get the next Xbox though even though 90% of my gaming is done on my PC.

I think I'm going to pass on this. Social networking is completely useless to me, hardly having friends and all that. Both gameplay recording and livestreaming are already very easy to do. The controller's touchpad looks like it's going force a lot of bad gimmicks in otherwise good games. Some of the announced games are multi-platform anyways. I guess in short, they just didn't show anything that's new or interesting.

But hey, they can always surprise me at E3 and I might consider getting one. Right now though, this is a bad first impression.

I'm still dubious about how much of what we saw was actual gameplay footage and how much of it was prerendered scenes, But in any case not much was shown that made me want a day one purchase and I'll bet with all the bells and whistles they put on that thing it will have a heavy price tag to go along with it.

I haven't done anything on console devices for a while, but this looks really neat.

Killzone 2&3 were some of my favorite games, so I can't wait for the new one they are talking about.

I just hope I can get my hands on one when they come out.

Kind of a slap in the face towards Playstation fans to show the controller and games, but not the actual console, yeah? Anyways, none of the confirmed games really appeal to me. I'm still wondering why Diablo 3 is getting a console release.

Hopefully they'll shed some light on the console at E3 this year.

I like how I can buy PC that's more powerful than this thing for the same price they're selling their "deluxe" models for. $430/$530 is still a bit away from the $600 the PS3 retailed for on release, but it's still more than many will want to pay for a console.

Figures...I finally get my hands on a PS3 and only a few months later they reveal a new console. Somehow I knew this was gonna happen. For obvious reasons I doubt I'l pick this up and not just due to the release price. To me this just seems like a PS3 with a few added gimmicks to it, most of which are pretty much useless to me anyway.

Agreed. That is an advantage Nintendo's Wii U console has: It will be cheaper. Honestly, good luck trying to sell a $500 gaming console in the current economy.

PS4 sounds great thus far. I like the new dualshock controller and I like the UI. The social stuff looked cool. And the games seem interesting.

However, I am not looking forward to the price tag on this thing..

I agree i don't like the price tag of the PS4 either i don't think it should cost $500 ( my opinion of course ) i think it should cost like

$299 - $370? ( again my opinion )
