I've said it before, but I have confidence that the show will not change a whole lot just because Twilight's an Alicorn. It could possibly add more possibilities for episodes. Then again, it could also compromise the show.

I've got mixed feelings, but my ultimate opinion is that it's perfectly fine.

Yes, I agree.

Although I really am not comfortable AT ALL with Twilight becoming a princess, I WILL ADMIT that if Hasbro can come up with a good enough reason for the transformation to change my mind, I'll be happy.

But I'd like to see them try.

P.S. I am soooo sooo sooooooo sorry if I'm offending anypony with my opinion!

I'm fine with it, as long as it's put together well. Like, not too much god-mod expressing, or having her the almighty princess. Y'know?

Pretty much this. I'm uneasy about how they made the change, but I'll reserve judgement for Season 4 once they have a chance to work with it.

O.K., O.K., don't hate me for this, but I don't think Twilight should be an Alicorn.

I agree with whoever says the Season 4 premiere should involve Twilight giving up her princessdom in order to save her friends.

I'm sorry, it's just that, the way I see it, you can't put a major change into a character like Twilight AND get away with it while continuing with the entire series.

It's just not right.

At the end of the Season 3 finale I was SOOOO not used to Twilight flying.

I'm sorry if this isn't what you think

I'm just not comfortable with the transformation.

Soooo...

Comments? Opinions?

Yeah, you're the only one. Because the thousands of anti-Twilicorns all over the Internet are secretly in support of her. All of that fan rage is all just a joke. You got us, bro.

Seriously, am I the only one who's tired of these "Am I the only one" threads? I think there's a very good reason why the Alicorn Twilight subforum exists. dry.png

I don't like Twilicorn, personally. However, there's not much I can do but wait for Season 4, and follow updates from the producers. At this point, all I can do is hope for the best. My faith in the producers may have been shaken, but I have enough to hope that they can put a positive spin on Twilight's transformation. With luck, she might even be better than old Twilight (feels weird saying this), and that she'll still be the adorkable nerd we know and love.

I used to be pretty pessimistic about Twilicorn, but I'm now cautiously optimistic, especially knowing that the fault doesn't really belong to the writers (they just did as they were told). Perhaps the writers can show us that they still have that magical touch--the same one that brought us into the fandom in the first place. That alone is enough for me to anticipate Season 4.

You have a point.

See, I hope nopony's getting me wrong here. I'm willing to give Season 4 a chance. If Twilight doesn't give up her transformation in the Season 4 premiere, I hope she does in the Season 4 finale. I can tolerate an entire season with her being a princess. I don't have a problem with that.

Wow.

I'm honestly the only one?

And sorry if you don't like the thread. I just wanted to see if anyone else felt like I did.

But my opinion still stands.

No, you aren't. The majority of people seem opposed to it. There have been tons of people complaining, making tons of threads about it. I personally want to see where this goes, it could be quite interesting. Being the princess of magic would be an interesting next step for her.

Yes, it would be interesting. I most certainly will not deny that.

But I still don't like it. I just don't think she could continue in her studies if she's a princess.

I believe even as a princess, she still has much to learn. But she also has much to teach. She can continue her studies, and what better way than to teach?

Twilight Sparkle is now the Prime Minister of Australia, has neon pink hair, is angst, and wears a pair of high heels everywhere.

I'd watch that. It'd be better than Equestria Girls. (Topical joke! But i seriously think Equestria girls will be okay.) Also, Australia is the luckiest country in the world, with Twilight as their minister. (Does she fall alot wearing heels with hooves?)

Hm, good point.

But don't you think suddenly making her a princess is going a little too far?

I mean, seriously. As a princess she'll hardly be able to do anything.

And let's not forget about Spike! What's going to happen to him?

I'd assume not much would change. There's no reason he has to change anything. He could still live with Twilight just like before. And you know she'll have a library for him to organize.

Well, if Twilight's a princess, she could either have NOTHING for Spike to do or TOO MUCH for Spike to do!

And, um, Spike did say that he'd prefer to use the floor as one big bookshelf...

I'm about to really quickly doodle it. derpy_emoticon2.png  Twalot.

And Aussieland is the best place in the world anyways. I plan on going there in some odd years.

And nuuu. It makes Rarity jealous. :U "Twilight, darling! I wish I could be as...Graceful as you! It makes no sense! I'M the pretty oneee!~"

Yeah, but that's probably because Spike's a lazy baby dragon who'd rather not do any work. He still does it for her though, and if she's going to be even busier now, she'll need his help.

You keep coming up with good points.

I'll admit I haven't changed my mind.

But the show will still change too much for me to be comfortable with it anymore.

You know what, I might as well leave my opinion on this, and my opinion is that I really don't care if Twilight stays an alicorn or not. I actually prefer the idea of her becoming a Princess over just staying Celestia's apprentice. Now anyways with that aside I do not see anything wrong with Twilight being an Alicorn other than Hasbro somehow messing it up, though I doubt that they will mess it up. So there. And also I think that transforming Twilight back to a unicorn would ruin it, due to the fact of how it would make the finale become pointless.

You're not alone, pal.

I'm adamantly against this move. I just see far too much room to screw this up, and far too little room to do things right. I'll fully admit that I'm fearful for the future. As a rule, I like to remain optimistic, but this is giving me a very narrow margin with which to do so.

All of my hope belongs to the idea that she'll end up sacrificing this somehow. I know it's highly unlikely given what we know (which, thinking about it, ain't a lot), but at least it gives me a shred of hope to grasp onto. I would be far more than happy to have our old Twily back. I just... am having difficulty seeing the new Twilight as the Twily we've come to love. So if they turn her back, everyone who worked on getting it done has my eternal props.

You've got people on your side, pal. Don't ever doubt that. smile.png

Not pointless.

The only reason she'd turn back into a unicorn would probably be for a big decision she had to make. If she chose to keep her princessdom, she may risk losing her friends.

Or that's what I hope happens.

Thank you, finally someone understands!

If she does sacrifice her princessdom, I know that most of us will be shocked, in good and bad ways.

But it would make some of us happier.

I still have mixed feelings about whether she should have not become an alicorn or she was destined to be one. So I'm pretty much still neutral on this whole alicorn bad blood that is still going on.

Again, I respect everypony's opinions.

There's nothing wrong with liking the transformation OR being neutral about it. I just like to express my feelings for things I believe to be wrong.

Really? A whole episode that was supposed to be a great big grand season finale and you think that if Twilight decides to ditch it, that wouldn't make the whole season finale pointless? And besides if she chose to keep it, then I doubt that they'd make her lose her friends.

The whole episode was about Twilight's friendship.

Remember the song "A True, True Friend"?

Most of it involved friendship, and that's the only reason Twilight ever became a princess in the first place.

If she abandoned it, it would be for a good cause. I'm certain of that.

I guess when you look at it that way it starts to make more sense. But still I doubt that Hasbro would close the door that they decided to open. And besides like I mentioned before they'd probably not make her lose her friends if she decided to keep her reign as Princess, unless they wanted to make a whole friendship lesson on how you should choose your friends over having power. Still though either way I'm just gonna sit back, drink a milkshake, watch season 4 and not really give a damn if it goes either way. Twilight's an Alicorn, okay that's cool, Twilight's not an Alicorn okay whatever.

The way I see it, the whole "Twilight will not outlive her friends" could mean anything.

It could mean that everypony else in the Mane 6 become immortal.

It could mean that Twilight sacrifices her position as a princess.

It could mean that they all die at the exact same time.

It could mean lots of things. How about we just wait for Season 4 to come out, and THEN we'll talk?

So, her having wings ruins everything huh? I personally do not see it. I see the huge potential with Twilicorn. Truly though, why does it ruin the show? Because it changes everything? How does it change EVERYTHING? We do not know enough about it yet. From what we have seen and heard, it will not dramatically change the show. I have given my opinion about this many, many times already, but I believe that Twilicorn should stay. Twilight achieved her destiny, what is so wrong about that?

Character advancement? In a cartoon like this? What the hell is that nonsense???

I'm sorry if my opinion offends you, but I don't think they can get away with giving her such a major change.

We do not even know what exactly her becoming a princess even means. It may not be a huge deal down the line. As I said in the past, perhaps they could explore a moral here. Just because someone has a status change, that doesn't mean that everything is different. She is still Twilight despite her being a 'princess' and it would be neat if they would remind the Brony community of this with an episode. I do agree that at the moment it seems like a big change, but I see it as a great character advancement opportunity.

Me, I think the Twilicorn thing is fantastic, for many reasons, they just have to execute it a bit better in season 4.
