I haven't listened to them in a while, I probably should, I like a lot of their work.  Though why didn't you have robot rock on there? D:

I'm not a fan of any of the stuff off of the Human After All-EP that they had released

All of the tracks on the album had sounded so much like each other

That it made me get bored of all the tracks on the album

Though I will admit that listen to some of the tracks off of that EP on their own isn't that bad of a thing to do

And I honestly do prefer the styles from Homework and Discovery way more than Human After All

I've started to get into them lately. I need to get one of their albums, because I'm ashamed to say I've only heard their really mainstream songs, like Harder Better Faster Stronger. Is their Tron Legacy soundtrack good?

The Tron soundtrack is a bad starting place for a first album

I'd probably go with their biggest release, Discovery

Since that one is the most easiest listen

And you should consider watching the movie they made

With the whole Discovery album playing through it

It was called Interstella 5555, and it makes the whole album experience even better

Not that Discovery doesn't have an awesome listening experience on it's own

Agree with you there Moog, the stuff in Human after all was bad, especially compared to the previous 2. I used to absolutely adore Daft Punk (I still love them a lot) and my list goes something like:

1. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

2. Face to Face

3. Around the World (So nostalgic :) )

4. Da Funk

5. Aerodynamic

6. Something about us

7. Crescendolls

8. Make Love

9. Veridis Quo

I love me some Daft Punk! Here's a list of my top ten:

1. Digital Love

2. One More Time

3. Aerodynamic

4. Harder Better Faster Stronger

5.Face to Face

6. Around the World

7. Derezzed

8. Crescendolls

9. Aerodynamic

10. Robot Rock

I can't wait for their new album, but in the meantime, I'm going to listen to some Feed Me & old Daft Punk. The two artists are cut from the same cloth if you ask me. Here's one of Feed Me's latest tracks:

Yeah I used to love Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

But then I got into their other stuff, and it seemed less enjoyable to me

I found Around The World to be a little bit too annoying

Though other than that, some awesome choices of songs

Oh God yes.

I'm also in love with some of the tracks they did for Tron: Legacy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I4w_HI4yLg

Then again, I'm a Tron fanboy, so I might be a little bias here.

The Tron: Legacy album was  a pretty good soundtrack

It's not as good as their previous stuff

But still Derezzed and The Grid were epic songs

Though I do prefer The Crystal Method's remix over the original version of The Grid

What is the name of the album that they will release?

I have no idea, there is little information on the album at the moment

I think that there are some leaked tracks on YouTube as well as fake leaked tracks

But other than that, I have no idea

Comparing Feed Me to Daft Punk

Is like comparing Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift if you ask me

DP have a way different style of house than Feed Me does

You don't hear the similarities? House (or more accurately Dance) is house, the style has just evolved since Daft Punk's last full-on forey into the style. Perhaps it's just me...

Anyway, while we're on the subject of Tron: Legacy remixes, I'd just like to say that The Glitch Mob's remix of Derezzed is absolute sex. Totally laid back and chill, I love it.

I doubt that Feed Me isn't influenced by Daft Punk

Since they are known as pretty much the kings of the genre

Though I don't think that you got what I was saying before

What I meant was that just because you're an evolved form a genre

Doesn't mean that it makes a good comparison

There are only minor similarities, nothing major enough for an actual better comparison between the two

I don't agree that's less accurate just to call it 'dance'. House is a sub genre of dance music for sure and you wouldn't be wrong to call it just dance, but theres a whole lot more subgenres of dance music than just House, there's a whole massive list of subgenres House is just like one out of MANY more

I love Daft Punk a great deal

So top 10 I can't do so I'll cheat if that's ok?:

Oh sweet Celestia we have so much in common with music taste, Dat Moog...

I have to say my favorite album from them is probably Homework.

If you say that you like Aphex Twin, ISIS, Converge, Pig Destroyer, The Prodigy, and Radiohead then we are the exact same people

And as for my favorite Daft Punk album it's a tie between Homework and Discovery

As for which one I prefer more than the other, it just depends on my mood and what I feel like listening to

A couple things:

1.) When I said Feed Me was similar to Daft Punk, I meant Feed Me was the best modern comparison to Daft Punk. I can't think of any artists out there at the moment more like Daft Punk than Feed Me, so, minor similarities or not I stick by my opinion.

2.) It's very difficult to compare artists from different decades of music, as musical trends tend to change every 2-5 years. If Daft Punk's latest album is more of what we all know and love, I'd be more inclined to say that Feed Me isn't a very good comparison, but until then, I really can't say much other than that he is as close as we currently have.

At the end of the day, both artists are great, and more music from either is a huge plus.

Aphex Twin is awesome, same with Radiohead, can't say I'm a big fan of The Prodigy though (they're not bad, just not my favorite IMO).

I personally like the harder house sound in Homework, something I haven't heard in a while from DP. I'm curious as to what their new album will sound like.

I can't wait, plus Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rogers have said there both involved in the album so it should be good in my book as Tom B, Guy Manuel, Nile and Giorgio are like the bad ass legends in dance music (Moroder pretty much invented EDM with I feel love by Donna Summer which he did all of the music for)

I love the harder sounds of Homework but love the more Disco sample sound of Discovery to depending on mood.

Yeah I used to feel the same way with The Prodigy, but I got used to them and I love them big time

Though Aphex Twin he's still my #1 favorite in electronic music

And I absolutely love Radiohead, Kid A and Amnesiac were both amazing albums

I feel that Madeon would be more appropriate to mention than Feed Me

But that might just be my opinion:

And I doubt that they would go more modern on their newest album

Either they will go off and experiment with other types of electronic

Or they will stick to either their sound in Discovery or Homework

Though if you ask me an album that's a combination between the two styles would be epic

Already seen Interstella about a 1000 times, real big die hard anime fan right here

So they basically took a band that I like a lot, then threw it in with another thing that I love

And yeah the samples that Daft Punk used were amazingly done

A lot of people complain about them using a bunch of samples on one album

But the way that Daft Punk sampled is not a way that the average producer can do

They were so cleanly done

I've actually not really listened to much of any Daft punk myself to be honest. I have friends who do. Oh and also one time at a band practice(Not at band camp :D.) We listened to one of their songs to learn to mark time, I don't remember which one for sure, but I know it was Daft Punk.

Thats just a random side note and insight into the crazyness of our schools band :D.

The more I think about it the more I agree with you on that one; I totally forgot about Madeon! XD

Feed Me's style is similar, but with a little more of a Electro/Dubstep vibe to it, Madeon is definitely closer to Daft Punk.

Great song choice, by the way. Icarus is one of my favorite tracks from him.

  • 2 months later...

They released the first song of their album, as a kind of a first impression of the album, here it is:

So, what do you think of it, do you think that they are going to reach your expectations? ( There are only 15 days remaining till the release of their album, by the way.)
