This was my first freehand of a pony... and first coloring.... It isn't the best, but what do you guys think? (and YES she did get her hair cut )

That's actually really good for a first go, I'd put mine up.... but yeah. Keep at it mate , keep practising and soon you'll be even better.

I think it looks pretty good. You could scan it and redraw it in PaintToolSAI to clean up the rough edges and it would look great.

The only thing I would say is to make her mane a little messier. It looks too neat for anypony who hasn't brushed their mane yet. I have short hair yet I look like a freaking hedgehog when I wake up, so without making a sculpture out of her mane you should make it look a little rougher and messier.

Damn. I can't even draw a cow well. It will just end up looking like a deformed zebra dog. 

I was thinking about getting a tablet and start practicing on drawing, but they are friggin' expensive.

Anyways, nice drawing!

I have just one critique:

 

Her head is a little too large in comparison to her body. It makes her neck look really long, and her legs look very small. Scale the head down a wee bit next time, and it'll be spot-on.

Thanks guys for the feedback, yeah I am going to try to porportion better next time, and I have actually tried panting it with some programs, but didn't have enough patience... I will try that next time too.  I also really wish I had a tablet.... Those sound fun...

Sure, it's no Cintiq, but it gets the job done, and it's a good start for someone who is new to working with tablets. I managed to snag one for $70 USD, but it seems the price has since gone up, but it's still a bargain at $100 USD.

 

Keep at the art though, especially if you enjoy doing it.
