gaming PETA is at it again

HAPPY STARCRAFT DAY, EVERYONE! I'd like to join you in playing HotS single player but a certain other game caught my eyes and I've been too busy raging about it.

EOIV.jpg

That one but with more English

However, I know of a better way to celebrate the release of the latest expansion:
With PETA news! biggrin.png

tl;dr

Whoever is in charge of PETA's resources has officially gone completely insane.

Gaming and PETA go together like peanut butter and some really
fucking stupid bugs that keep swarming over the peanut butter trying to
get your attention. In their long and storied history, they have
protested Pokemon glamorizing cockfighting, Mario glamorizing the fur
industry, Cooking Mama glamorizing Thanksgiving, and recently, Assassins
Creed glamorizing whaling. Not content to just sit back and look like a
bunch of asshats once a year, PETA are now planning to protest
Starcraft II, for cruelty against rhe Zerg. I am dead serious.

"PETA—or, as we are renaming ourselves in
honor of the expansion pack's launch, "Terrans for the Ethical
Treatment of Zerglings"—will attend tonight's launch event in Irvine,
California, and distribute copies of our new "Zerglings Have Feelings,
Too" leaflets as a reminder that gamers and nongamers alike should have
compassion for all beings—even those who are very different from us."

If this is a joke, its a fucking terrible one. It has all the
sincerity of PETAs older videogame "parodies", just without the self
defeating shock value.

"So remember, while Zerglings are not
real, there are many equally "strange" and exotic animals we share this
planet with who deserve our empathy. Just because crocodiles and snakes
look alien to us, that doesn't make it OK to skin them alive for a
handbag, shoes, or a belt."

Well, thats not acompletely accurate, as the Zerg are not reptilian,
so much as insectoid, making them *SLAPS SELF* WHY AM I DEBATING
PETA?!!?

PETA appears to be using this event to try and stir up discussion
among gamers about animal equality, linking to a summary of the book
Animal Liberation. I hardly feel I need to explain the problem with
this, but for those of you who want to hear me rant: Attempting to
promote compassion towards non-friendly looking animals by comparing
them to videogame aliens doesn't work if the aliens are a race of hive
minded killing machines who mindlessly serve the will of a malevolent
consciousness. You goddamn hippy morons.

At this point, I would ask how any of you think PETA could possibly
make a bigger jackass of themselves, but I honestly can't see it. Still,
if you wanna try. leave me a note in the comments. The most creative
(stupidest) suggestion will be left on PETA's forums, just to see if
they actually do it.

Yup. It seems like PETA (or TETZ as they want to be known there) seems to be against the abuse of zerglings, the burning of zerglings, the nuking of zerglings and other forms of zergling disposal.

-PAXP-deijE.gif-PAXP-deijE.gifcute_zerg.png

Why would people do that anyways?

I find that...
I think they're...
They look like...

TETZ! I can't find anything bad to say about this (Zerg user)! I suppose that the fact that PETA supports the swarm would make zerg users look bad but that's it!

I can honestly say that I don't give a flying fuck what PETA decides to do, these days. I'm pretty sure this goes for everyone else, as well.

Good 'ol PETA at it again, honestly, they are the largest collection of attention whores, hypocrites, and flat out idiots on the planet, they just want attention, so they can make more money for torture devices they use to euthanize animals they "rescue" anyways.

I'm surprised nobody has started a petition to get the government to recognize them as a terrorist organization.

Nuke the Zerglings!

It´s about time this happens!

Potato!

No, seriously, whats the deal, will there be protest? I wanna be there, I wanna be angry, I wanna wave a sign and I wanna be AGAINST it (not even knowing what "it" is)! I don´t know why, but protest is good, is it?

Haha, I hope it's a joke but knowing Peta it's probably accurate. Peta makes those of us who care about animal rights look like total idiots.

Other than disliking how they portray animal rights people, I pretty much ignore them. All they want is the attention. They seem to think any attention to their cause will help it, but it just isn't true.

Here we go again, using poor and defenseless fallacies to defend themselves. Oh PETA, when will you ever learn how to make a proper argument instead of making a complete fool of yourself?

Ahh PETA, the only people who willingly walk themselves into a Hydra's jaws. I'd eat more of them, but the taste of idiocy leaves a bitter tang. That, and their silly placards get stuck in my teeth :)

Actually, Zerglings don't have feelings, nor do any of the other Zerg units. The only exception would be the Overmind and its cerebrates. I guess Kerrigan too, but she was still partly human. And nevermind that whatever feelings they may have (if they had any) are entirely irrelevant when they're trying to annihilate humanity.

You're using logic against a PETA argument? ~It won't work, they CRAAAZY! You can't fight crazy with logic, just ask Pinkie Pie ;)

Other zerg have feelings, it's just that those feelings are all of unending bloodlust :D

I'm sorry, but I have to do it now that the joke popped into my head:

This, This should be made into a joke PETA article. It has to be done now :D I wonder how fast they'd try to get it taken down. It'd be even better if it was altered to not breach copyright, then it couldn't be taken down without great difficulty. :)

Someone could always pass it on to someone that writes articles for The Onion. It sounds like the kind of thing they would write and post.

I'm a bit confused as to what they hope to gain from this? Do they think that you are going to murder as few inanimate pixels as possible because you have compassion for a bunch of 'ones' and 'zeros'?

I'm certain that PETA are just a bunch of IRL trolls. Their activities and ideas are so absurd that there's no way they can be serious. There's no way. And, if they are . . . god dammit, humanity.

*Me finds thread about PETA*

*Me reads thread*

*Me discovers PETA is now going against Zerg*

*Me laughs*

Is this serious XD? I literally laughed when I saw this, seriously? Like atleast most things in stuff PETA goes against somewhat resembles real life, Zerg's are like.. Alien lifeform bug weirdo creatures.

I don't think they have feelings anyways :P. I don't really play Starcraft even(And I play'd Protoss when i did) but this is so weird Xd.

I think its already been said and shown before, but I think its safe to say now that PETA is kinda like totally insane and pretty dumb to Xd.

I can't say I expected more from PETA though, they've always been not the brightest really. They proably haven't even played any of the games and such they go against.

They're threats and arguments are so stupid nobody takes them seriously anyways, so they're not very threating, I don't know why they even try. :P.

Oh PETA.. Oh well this made me laugh anyways :P.

As an avid supporter of Changeling rights I can sort of identify with them. XD

I think PETAs 2013 goal is just to see how many stupid things they can say in under one year.

They're trolling us. Like most of the things PETA does, this is a cheap publicity stunt meant to get attention in a world that would like to forget their existence. Basically they're the North Korea of activist organizations.

I played the "Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals" flash game a few years ago.  You know...the one where you chop the cartoon turkey's head off, pluck his feathers, stuff him with stuffing, etc.

It was hilarious.

And it made me hungry for turkey.

Actually, PETA is pro Zerg. They're trying to promote zergling rights and I can't not agree with them on that one. How can you attack anything like this?

@,

and if i may ask you, what game is that for the 3DS that you are showing? it looks cool o.o

Etrian Odyssey 4. It's a dungeon crawler and is kinda hard. Some enemies there can wreck your excrement pretty bad like a giant kangaroo shoryukening your team to death.

Fun game.

This is a case of PETA having no clue how the Zerg work. The Zerg don't really have free will at all. Considering the role of Kerrigan and the Overmind within the Starcraft lore. And what the Xel'naga did to the Zerg to make them what they are.

Completely missed the point on this one.

You get a brohoof from the veggie, because, seriously, that's all those idiots will ever accomplish with those games. Besides, I'm not one of those "I made a choice so you have to make the same choice or you're evil!" kinda veggies.

Also, it made me laugh.
