gaming Games that went faulty on you at crucial moments

We have all probably played at least one game that has gone faulty on us but have you ever played a game where the fault happened at a crucial moment?

I have two situations:

MLP FIM app - I got the bug where the game loaded the "Hasbro gaming" logo and would turn itself off. I was forced to delete the game and reinstall it which annoyed me because I was one heart away from buying Scootaloo.

Monster Hunter Tri - I was taking part in an online quest to capture a Rathian. As soon as she started limping, my connection was terminated due to network instability.

Kingdom Hearts 1, my mum turned off my Playstation 2, at 100 Acre Wood, and I was at Level 50+. I didn't save for a while though, and I was set back by 1 hour.

that has happened to me so many times that its sadsad.png  however i am a big gamer and this kind of thing happens alot to me. the most common time is that the game will freeze or crash at a loading screen and probably the most annoying was when i was playing dark souls. i was fighting Seath the scaleless and after i beat him the auto save kick in (as it dose every five seconds) and then the game froze. when i got back in i was standing outside of the fight with him and he wasn't defeated. ya i cried a littlesad.png. i only beat him by luck that first time.

League of Legends tends to freeze, or slow down tremendously, my computer in team battles, where everyone is needed. And occasionally, in World of Tanks, my computer slows down, making me unable to take certain shots that could take down opponents. Until I lowered the res on Portal 2, during co-op, my computer would slow down. (So it's my computer's fault, but it's while I'm playing, so... :P)

But those are the only instances. I'm a PC man, and occasionally play Wii games.

I remember playing the final level of Gears of War on insane difficulty. After about 20 or so tries I finally managed to defeat Raam. Then the game froze when it tried to load the cutscene.  I was, well pretty peeved off about it. I finally beat him though afterwards :D

One time my memory card inexplicably lost my 96% complete KH1 file .-. I never did replay it..... but I consider it sort of 'honorarily beaten' :3

That happened to my PS2 memory card once, everything just deleted. I had about 10 saves, all from different games I had completed D:

Ninja Gaiden(Xbox) - The disc is near flawless, yet every time I play it, the system stops reading it after the first 30 seconds of gameplay... I really want to play it

I've had numerous games decide to crap out on me over the years, though I...can't really name them all. Nearly 70% of them were cartridges, so yeah, old school. Most recently, I went out and bought Forza 4 used for my 360, because it was a LAUNCH DAY COPY that was returned for unknown reasons. It had ALL THE LAUNCH BONUS CODES UNUSED. The disc was completely scratch free, almost like it had never been used. Got home, first disc was defective. Game would NOT start up, and I had been SO PSYCHED to get this game. Ended up buying it new, and apparently the codes still worked. Fascinating, but you know.

Also the fact that Black Mesa has crashed a few times on this laptop due to heap overrun errors. In the middle of a firefight. -___-

Saints Row: The Third PC, when you have to shoot the Brute off of the giant ball during The Belgian Problem. It's impossible since my computer rig is too garbage to process all of the dust and particle effects properly, so it skips a cutscene, giving me less time to shoot it off.

Also, when I was playing Capture the Flag on TF2, the timer was counting down into 5 seconds and I was hauling ass to capture the intel. At the VERY LAST STEP, RIGHT BEFORE I CAPPED IT... well, you can probably guess what happened.

League of Legends on my first account many games I played were fine but after I get to max level 30 every game I played 20 minutes in random disconnections with no Internet problems and it happened sooo much my account got banned for life T-T

Dark Cloud, you don't know how much time I spent on that game. Leveling the characters and weapons to amazingly high proportions, only for the game to glitch right before the final boss. I was freaking devastated...

ARGH! This wasn't really the game crashing, but it fits with the topic. I was playing Pokemon Blue (I think for the first time, but I'm not entirely sure,) and I could see the red light for the battery going. And I was in Mount Moon, and I just wanted to get the frig out because I was sick of being there. And, of course, the game shuts off before I can get out of the cave, and I had to start all over again. In retrospect, I could have just saved the game, shut it off and stuck in new batteries, especially since you start in the exact same place you leave off, but *shrug* I was 12?

My OoT cart glitches up from time to time. And it's always when I forget that fact and forget to save that it does that! >.< Not like I haven't beaten it, like, a gazillion times before, but it's still frustrating.

And for some reason, whenever I play Angry Birds, my computer crashes. Not when I start the game, but when I'm, like, in the middle and on the verge of figuring out how to beat the level. Always freaking crashes. So that's why I don't play Angry Birds anymore.

Well, because this is the way my mind works, 0.5 seconds away from beating hard (aka easy) in super hexagon and it was definitely the game that screwed up when I crashed into the wall. Totally not player error.

In other words: I suck.

(I finally did beat it though..)

I was playing Harry Potter Lego on my Wii. The game was running fine. Until... Well, you need Augumenti to put out the fires in this one level. And the only way to get through the level is to put out the fires. The Wii apparently really doesn't like putting out fires, because every time I used Augumenti, the game froze. I have never finished that game solely because of that glitch. mellow.png

On Dance dance revolution Universe...

If you change the Sync options for that game, it will end up randomly glitching the game to where you won't be able to get to the results screen after you complete a song...

Ireason I know this is because I was at my (what used to be step-mom's) condo for a while and I played DDR Universe there for a little bit...

The TV they had made the game all off sync so I ended up going into the DDR Options to fix the syncing...

I played the quest mode a little bit attempting to unlock songs.

I got to the final stage of the Southern portion of the US, beat the challenger, got hyped to unlock the song (one of my favorites in the game...), and it never went to the results screen (froze at the loading screen)...

Needless to say... I had to quit the game at that spot...

When I turned it back on... the whole southern half was unsaved...

I had to start it all over again :(

Which made me rather upset :(

I was playing Knights of the Old Republic II on my computer, and about halfway through the game, I had a task to do, but I apparently hit a glitch, because I was completely unable to continue. I had to start again, and thankfully it didn't happen again.

This was my own fault, but it's still my most memorable game fault. After playing a dual game of New Super Mario Bros. Wii with a buddy (who keeps attempting to kill me instead of clearing the level :P ), I finally managed to clear the boss of World 3 after about 20 attempts full of avoiding the deathly plans of my companion. I jumped up to celebrate, and unknowingly pressed the A button on my Wiimote before I could grab the key. The A key puts your character in a bubble... and restarts the level.

I just stood there in disbelief, as my friend absolutely fell about laughing. Oh dear... :)

In 2003 when I got Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando for the ps2 the game got scratched somehow and whenever I got to Planet Tabora (the desert mining planet) the ship loading screen would never end. I had to get a new disc so I could play the game to the end and finish it.
