Would you consider MLP FIM as your all time favorite cartoon?

MLP: FiM is amazing, & I love the characters... But it doesn't hold enough for me to put it as the Number 1 show for me. I mean, we have Avatar the Last Airbender, Samurai Jack, & if we include anime then Fairy Tail & Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. All of these shows have a ton more going for them, though if you want to go with favorite characters... Yeah I think MLP: FiM could have a chance in that respect... I certainly haven't been as enthralled with the characters in those that I mentioned as in MLP: FiM, more so with their stories & what is going on ie action/comedy scenes.

 

Overall, as far as shows go, no, unless they have a huge spike in the next few seasons. However if you want to talk about characters... There could be something there, but I'd have to sit down & think about it for a good long time...

but my favorite animated series is Avatar: The Last Airbender. Animated and cartoon are not the same thing.

Actually... I could agree to that. At this moment in time, without having seen the Korra series & all the other stuff I mentioned having come & gone, I would say that it is my favorite currently... Sure as hell is better than most of the stuff out there...

Maybe. My all time favorite cartoon for sure is Teen Titans. MLP comes as a close second, but I knew TT for 7 years, while I watched my first MLP episode less than one year ago and I feel that it's to soon to think about it. Probably yes, but right now it's hard to tell.

Well it's my favorite currently airing I'll say that. Can you blame me? I don't have much options. Other cartoons today are about above average at best.

Yes. MLP is my all-time favorite cartoon. Believe me, when I watched an episode of it, my mind completely melted because of the quality of it. A show attended for children? A show that's all about friendship and ponies? AND IT'S STILL MIND-NUMBINGLY SPECTACULAR? AND EVEN IF I DO NOT SUPPORT FEMINISM??

Now that I think of it, everything I watched on TV were mostly garbage. They were just boring and mostly crude. MLP took away ALL of that.

 

I think it's safe for me to say MLP is my all-time TV show, in fact.

I voted maybe. I have seen a bunch of cartoons and I can't really decide. Also there is the fact that I don't know the exact definition of cartoon so it may depend on that. If someone could please give me the actual definition of "cartoon" it would be most appreciated. But it is most certainly not my most favorite TV show of all time. That title belongs to Firefly.

If we are talking about western animated shows... it would be somewhere in my top ten.

 

If we are talking about animated series in general it would have to contend with shows like K-On, Lucky Star, Clannad, Hellsing ova, Elfin Lied, Higurashi, Soul Eater... It would have a pretty hard time in my top 100.

My all time favourite WESTERN cartoon is Gravity Falls, hands down. The characters are brilliant, the humour is good and the animation is gorgeous. MLP is good, but to me it pales in comparison to Gravity Falls. 

 

If we include anime, Wolf's Rain > Gravity Falls. I watched Wolf's Rain years ago and I still adore it. The soundtrack is brilliant (composed by Yoko Kanno, who also composed Cowboy Bebop) and it makes me cry every time. Cowboy Bebop is incredible too, with a wonderful soundtrack and brilliant characters.

I would say it's definitely among them. The show itself is great, and of course the fandom contributes to it, but really it's the whole package that makes it great.

 

It's the fact that the creators took a punchline and turned it into a compelling and believable world filled with identifiable characters. It's like alchemy, taking nothing and turning it into pure gold!

I don't know. If only for the impact her character has had on my life in of itself makes this my favorite cartoon. Martin Mystery, Totally Spies, and the Powerpuff Girls are all great and among my favorites, but they're all fabu-nuked by how amazing Rarity is

Never thought such a little horse could have such a huge impact on my life, and just for that alone, FiM is my favorite cartoon of all time
