Everyone at first started off with stating their actual opinion, because teams had to be scrambled, so you actually had a challenge. Now I am a pro, but was put in the con team, and still won   Though still, it was extremely exciting.

i have an urge of going through Final Fantasy 8 now... after never completing that game. i might just get a ROM of the game and boot it up in some PSX emulator. what's a good PSX emulator?

6 was a great game. 5 can be fun but sometimes too simple and sometimes it's too hard. very linear game. 4 is good but the original SNES version is tought as shit. all the other versions of the game got watered down in terms of difficulty it's not even funny (seriously Rydia never died at level 1 in that game for me. NEVER. AND SHE WAS FUCKING LEVEL 1. ANYTHING COULD HAVE KILLED HER.).

 

PSX era, 7 is bland, imo. i found the gameplay uninteresting and it has an archaic control system. play through it if you want but it's starting to show its age... badly.

8 is heavily criticized for its battle system. basically you can summon infinitely in that game, which can take the fun away from ordinary battles a lot. but goddamn i love that game, though. it does a lot of things right. the story captivates me, the music's great, the atmosphere is great, and it has the best damn mini game in any FF game ever. if you're willing to put down hours on a game at least i would recommend it.

9 is far more digestible. brings gameplay back to the roots, so to speak, and the atmosphere is charming, to say the least. overall the best of all the games in terms of moderate score.

 

10 is also complained against because of stuff such as its confusing story and protagonist which leaves much to be desired. but i do love love love the flow of the battles in the game, and while quite easy for being a FF game (as well as having some bullshit bosses like Seymour Flux), i don't think it's all that BAD, really. it's quite enjoyable to me.

 

11 is MMO and i don't care for MMO. apparently bad and should be stayed away from.

 

12 is something i have trouble coming to terms with. while i do love how open the game feels, i'm not really fond of the style of the game's characters. plus the battle system is something i have severe troubles with. i might have to spend a lot lot LOT of time on that game to truly come to terms with it (ironically i beat quite a few secret bosses and came to the last place but never finished it).

 

13 i can't decide because i've only played 5 minutes of it.
