Sadly, I've not continued on the one fic that involved Jade, Electrobolt, Gem, and Paradox for a long time...

What are you producing?

 

 

A lot of things. Several manuals for a mod whose dev I'm involved with, a multi-million-note MIDI composition (see below), and a fanfic.

Oh, that... I don't have a Fimfiction account...

 

I start a lot of fics, and none of them ever get completed due to very little feedback or motivation or time.

 

You could upload your drafts if they're long enough onto FIMFiction and ask for feedback on it, some writers are readers are nice enough to do that.

My fear is that they won't stand up to scrutiny, that's why not a single fic has ever been posted in its entirety outside of my Google Drive, and boy, there are a lot... There's probably 30 different documents that's all failfic...

You're not going to get very far if you're too afraid of people saying negative things about what you do.

Well, even if the comments aren't all positive, they'll still help you improve overall.

 

I found that out with one of the stories I posted on there, In Due Time. It wasn't received as well as my 3 other stories, even though I thought it was my best writing. Made me rethink things a bit.

When it always came to write stories, I always felt mine were stale, because at the time, I was never exposed to the Internet. I didn't realise that some people were being as creative as I'm seeing now. I had a mind chock-full of ideas, but none of them were ever expressed because I always saw them as being too weird to even show. I kept my imagination secretive until I discovered deviantART... And Happy Tree Friends.

I'd love to see some of the ideas that you have. 

 

And I know how you feel too, most people I know don't even know I've been writing fanfiction for over 4 years now. My problem is that sometimes my ideas aren't exactly the most original in the world, but I just love writing enough to use ideas already done numerous times by others. 

 

I mean concerning your ideas you have, I'd be more than happy to help you with your writing if your worried about overall reception, and maybe help you maximize ideas into a more concrete story. 

 

And speaking of which, one of my stories is made up of little TwiDash dabbles. So even if they are story snippets, people could still receive them well. :)

During 6th grade, I wrote a story that went like this: My friend and I travelled a few decades into the future, and to get back to 2005, we had to get a new cooling fan for the time machine. That's it, that's the whole story.

 

I've an old deviantART account that outlines a very hectic history of myself that I really don't wanna relive.

 

During my last months there, I began heavily revising Ganaram's backstory for ponification, and that included discrediting Gem as a character:

My next failfic was Ganaram revisiting about the idea of him imagining Gem, and tries to create a story out of it. I posted about that on the Forums with the hopes of getting feedback, but I took it back and went private about it. By the way, the "Yankee Doodle" line? I dreamt about being in Winston Smith in Room 101, with the Three Stooges being against Big Brother, but then they converted back and sang that line. So I recorded that line to help me remember.

 

At the same time, I tried writing about how the Elements of Harmony could be corrupted and poison everyone in Ponyville. You've actually read fragments of that, if I recall. At the same time still, I wrote a story of how two ponies could screw up at screwing in a lightbulb. Then I became insanely depressed due to family pressures: I've ended up writing stories about Ganaram wanting to be killed, and then about him almost killing himself but moving away from Ponyville.
