Hey guys,

I was wondering if you use a girl often or sometimes in MMOs. I was actually one of them

I like using them sometimes, due to the fact that their costumes are cute or sexy and their body

Customizations are wicked

If you are one of them, tell me why

If you are not, why do you think it's strange to use a girl if you are a boy in real life?

If I have to stare at my character for the duration of the gameplay, it might as well be something I find attractive.  So...cute girls it is.

You obviously have never read any of the rules of the internet.

Rule 29-on the internet, all girls are men and all kids are secret undercover FBI agents.

So I doubt that any male that plays MMOs is going to say they've never made a female character B)

I don't generally play as a female in video games when the chance arises not that I have anything against the gender and not that I find it strange as you asked but personally I find it easier to immerse myself in the experience if I create the character as I see myself in said universe. There's nothing weird about it quite a few people I know play only females in MMO RPGs and normal RPGs

Sometimes. Not all of the time, but I do when I feel like it. I'm not quite sure why, though. Maybe I just want to play as the different gender or whatever. mlp-dshrug.png

No. First of all, it will feel very awkward when my friends watch me playing female characters. Also, I consider it as an evil crime because it ruins my hope for meeting real girls online in MMO. The last of all, female dwarves look weird. I play as a dwarf whenever I get the chance.

I think we might have stumbled upon the root problem.  See the above post about how "all girls are guys (and all children are FBI agents)".  MMOs are almost certainly the worst possible place to meet girls.

Ok, the third worst place, after mental hospitals and prison.

I don't use female characters in MMOs because, it would be very attractive to create a girl but it's just awkward playing as a girl in a game if your friends are around watching you play the game. But, the people that play as girls in MMOs your free to do whatever you feel that you want to do. Let's just say that, when I play as a girl... it gets a bit awkward for me since I'm always used to playing as a boy.

mental hospitals and prison.

They're great places to find females, I wish more people would consider that (please get me out)

But I usaully play female 'cause I am but sometimes I play male so I can see the difference, and sometimes males have better abilities to use than female characters.

Ah...yes, of course that makes, uh... *looks around to see if the guards are paying any attention* ...perfect sense in light of your *coughs conspicuously while sliding a straight razor to rascal so she can escape her straight jacket later on* ...situation.

If given the choice, yes I sometimes would choose female. I just believe that there are too much heroes and not enough heroines. Also thinking about it, they are actually having both male and female soldiers in the new COD

Girls in mental hospitals are a great place, actually. At least in a mental hospital you can be yourself when meeting them. Just my opinion.

All of my guy friends always play as guys. I tend to swing towards having a girl character. They think it's weird that I'd want to stare at a girl all day long instead of a guy. Also, they don't think it's weird at all when a girl friend of ours makes a guy character.

I generally play whichever I feel like at the time o.O

Normally it'll be a female character and i'll pursue a heterosexual relationship, if that's an in-game option, but of course variety is the spice of life, no?

So, generally speaking i'll do everything the game offers :P

I suppose in a way, I tend to stereotype and that effects my choice of gender. For example, I RP all my games to the point where i'll play a character how I would imagine them acting. I wouldn't have a female sword and shield tank who could flatten an army with a shield bash, i'd make her wicked powerful with a bow or give her sneaking abilities, rogue talents etc.
If I want to run into the fight with a battleaxe or just muscle my way through the game, i'll pick a male character and build him accordingly.

If I want to use cunning and brainpower, or even magic, i'll play a female and build her accordingly.

It is extremely rare for me to create and use a female character in an MMO. I usually feel a bit awkward doing so. The one MMO where my main character is female is guild wars 2 because I managed to make my asura character really adorable and the male voice was annoying me a lot.

Yeah. I've observed my friend (a boy) playing as a female character in that MMORPG and claimed that he was a girl in real life. Then there's this guy who actually dated my friend in the game. The guy gave him many useful items, support, and money, so he kept that relationship. Hilarious but disgusting and creepy at the same time.

I pretty much always play as female character, not just in MMOs but off-line single-player games as well. I even use female avatars on the internet. It's mostly for aesthetic reasons, though for the games, I just feel like I can empathize with women better in the story. I think it might have to do with the fact that I grew up around all women. The only male figure in my life was my grandfather. Its only in the last 10 years that I've really had any male friends.

A few years ago when I played mmo's like nonstop, I always played a female character.

they just have so many advantages over male characters, as in free items from random guys who think you are a girl irl XD

I definitely do! Haha and mostly for all the same reasons you listed above. I'm glad that I'm not the only one. ;)

For some reason though my best friend was upset that I use female characters.

I'll give a fairly detailed answer since MMOs are what I play the most.

First of all, when you play a game, you'll be staring at the character's ass for hours. Decide: do you want to see girl ass or man ass?

Then there are other games that have genderlocked classes.

You may like the playstyle of one, but it's locked to a specific gender. Games that do is are: Warframe, Vindictus, Dragon Nest, etc.

In Warframe I used female characters because they tend to be the squishy, offensive characters.

In Vindictus I played Evie, the female scythe and staff users because magic and dark magic fascinate me.

In Dragon Nest, I play the Tinkerer because she is a little 12 year old girl that has a robot butler named "Alfredo" and can summon turrets controlled by robot ducks.

In World of Warcraft, was NOT genderlocked, I chose a female Deathknight because I really like female Draenei.

So in the end I only have used female characters. A few of them because they were genderlocked, and a few because they were cute, sexy, or adorable.

Many male characters I have had were just alts (alternative characters) who I used as bank mules when my main charater's bank was full.

I don't really play MMOs, but when I do, I only very rarely play as a girl. I prefer my character to be as close to me as possible, and I'm a guy, so...

Fighting games are a whole other story, though. I usually use the best character, and if it's a girl, it won't matter to me.

*sneaking into goal* *finding rascal* *shooting way out* *eating a sandwich* (level up in real life, getting a 20% intelligence boost)

I usually make characters look like myself, prioritying intelligence and stealth. (that is hard when editing female characters so I skip it.)
