Should there be a Shining Armor episode?

Or atleast an episode where he gets a big role in it and the episode is not about Cadence or Twilight. The reason I am asking this Because Shining is pretty much living in the shadows of his wife in every episode he is in it, I mean hes a Prince and the Royal Gaurds captain and the Co ruler of the Crystal empire However He barely has a character.Even Big Mac got a Big role in a episode that wasnt about the apple family (The Heart and hooves episode) I can come up with three episode ideas:

1) Episode about him and Spike

2) Episode about Him and Prince Blueblood

3) episode about the royal gaurds

Hopefully he will get a slice-of-life episode as Meghan has confirmed that there will be a few. Though I think it would be hard for the writers NOT to include Cadance in some way since they are married, though of course, there are times they 'd be by themselves for some reasons.

 

We just have to wait for Season 4~....sadly ._.

It would be nice for them to have a huge role, but I don't think well learn about his relationships with others. I mean Spike can just be a younger brother of the family, Celestia would just be guard, but they might have something, and I don't think he would have much conation with Blueblood. Maybe an episode where Blueblood is set to train with Shining so he can become more braver or less selfish.

No, he seems to be a good side-character.

 

 

His character in general isn't even that interesting when you look at him, they technically gave him the character of your standard fairy tale knight in armour.

 

Not much to be progressed there, unless being over possessive with his sister.. but he seems clever enough not to do such things.

I could see there being a Shining Armor episode. Keep in mind that the royal coronation contest winner was a boy, so they may....may try to have a few more male characters appearing in the show to try to capitalize on that.

Let's say it is Twilight Sparkle's birthday and both Spike and Shining Armor wants to give her something special for being a good friend and a great big brother.

 

So Spike and Shining Armor meet and plans this big event for Twilight. Now a party since they all know she would probably prefer something.. A little bit different. So without telling Twi where they're going, Spike tells Twilight to follow him somewhere. There, her brother Shining Armor waits for her and Spike so they can follow her to what she will witness.

Yea that's what I meant, I kind of derped on my family terminology at that moment, just got back from class when I posted it :3  But yea, a guy's night out episode would be fun to see.

Shining Armor isn't a bad character, but he isn't a great one either, and I would like to see him fleshed out a bit more. Games Ponies Play was actually a great start for that, for we saw a side or two of him that we hadn't seen before- more stuff like that would be nice.

The thing that makes these two characters unique, is that they could potentially be the characters to give us relationship storylines, and that could be a nice niche for both of them, much like how the Apple Family gives us family stories and lessons. Not that I want MLP to have a big focus on romance or anything, because I don't, but I do like Shining Armor enough to be fine with him having an episode of focus. And Big Mac too. I think that A Canterlot Wedding was fairly centred around Shining Armor. I do however agree with you I'd like the show to explore him and Twilights background a bit more...
