Striker couldn't help sighing as he watched the zebra and pony fight it off, "How sad..." Striker thought, "Two friends pulled apart by these forsaken games, they won't last a second if they don't work together..." Striker returned his attention to the pony infront of him. Cooling down a bit he lowered his arms and said, "I am sorry about that... it just... these games, they do evil things to ponies, they bring the evil out of them..."

Solar Flicker closed her eyes again after her companion left, but did not go to sleep. Instead, she watched the proceedings through a tiny slit in her eyes, taking careful note of her competition. The zebra was snarky enough to earn the Capitol's favor, but at first had tried to suck up a little too much. Wind Walker had a nasty temper, definately had to avoid him unless he found her first. Then kill him. Steel... she couldn't kill him. He was from her own district, that merited some loyalty. Somepony else would do it. But nopony could kill her. As far as she could tell she was never going to die. She kept feeding herself this mentality, convincing herself of this until she believed it with her heart, soul, and mind.

Sella sighed at the two fighting ponies. "That's saved for the arena. Don't waste your energy now." She muttered. She looked up at the stallion. "Yeah. Gets everyone down. Especially me as you can see." Her eyes started welling up. I have to win this... For Melanie. For district 3... she smiled at the stallion and shook away her tears. "So..? Is there anything I should know about you?" She laughed, a little too falsely. She was going to try and enjoy her last happy moments.

Chippy snuck out of her room, tip-toeing gently.

Inside of her mind, she was forming a plan.

"Step one. Bloodbath. Step two. Hunt down all of the tributes. Step three. Win the games." Chippy mused to herself. She liked her plan.

She trotted into the main room where everypony was and sat down. She rummaged through the saddlebags she was allowed to bring, to find her armband with a diamond on it, from her work on manufacturing luxury goods. She placed it on, then decided to stare out of the window until this accursed train ride was over.

Surf Skimmer dozed on a cloud just above the water.  Her seafoam coat matched the color of the bay and her cerulean hair, streaked with grey, was wet from dangling down into the gentle tide.  In her hooves was a half finished net made from seaweed- after all, she did live in District 4.  The purpose of her district was to bring the bounty of the sea to their masters in the Capitol.

Skimmer didn't really care.  Her parents were rebels and they paid the price for it, but she just kept lazing her days away by the beach.  She loved it here.  The bay where she lived was more mother and father to her than her parents were.  Who cares if the sick Capitol runs their Hunger Games as long as she got to live on her bay?

She earned her keep by gathering.  The only pegasus in District 4 that didn't work in the sky, she was with the earth ponies and she liked it that way.  She hated heights.  Her job was to gather seaweed for fishing nets and food and also to scavenge the beach for relics from the old world.  Equestria that was looked a fair bit different than today.  Before the war, the area now known as District 4 was known as Horseshoe Bay and there was a big city called Baltimare.  Whatever happened to make Baltimare sink into the sea, Skimmer had no idea, but she found the shiny bits and baubles that washed ashore.  Some, she gave to Capitol salvagers, some she kept and some smaller shinier things she wove into her mane along with seashells.

Maybe it was her cutie mark of three leaping fish that foretold her destiny today, but her life- the one that she loved- was to be forever changed when three fish jumped from the water and dissipated her cloud.

Waking up underwater isn't pleasant.  Even for somepony who loves being in the water.  She gasped as she woke, sending seawater into her lungs, burning her chest and suffocating her.  Figuring out what happened, she managed to flail to the beach, retching and coughing up the water she swallowed.  Lying on the sand, lucky to be alive but feeling much older than her 18 years, she whacked at her back with her wings, trying to get the last of the water out of her system.

She was in no state for what happened next.

A whole troop of peacekeepers crashed through the coastal scrub and hauled Surf Skimmer onto their shoulders.

"THIS is where you were!?!?!? EWWWW!!!"  Shrieked a shrill voice affectated with the ridiculous exaggeration of a Capitol accent.  "You RUINED the Reaping, I hope you know that!  To be on this smelly beach with the icky water and the grimy sand UGH!"

Skimmer weakly coughed and turned her head in the direction of the ranting.  A white unicorn with a meticulously styled mane and ridiculous makeup feigned being on the verge of death while Surf Skimmer actually very nearly was.

"Well!  I supposed you'll have to do, your name being selected and all... HMPFH!  Why did I draw District 4 as my first!?  I suppose we could spin her as a diamond in the rough since we found her in the sand?  NO!  That's stupid, maybe a beautiful pearl inside a dirty shell?  No, no, too dirty and that's my NAME for goodness sake, 'Pearl presents her pearl to the Capitol?' That's idiotic!"

Skimmer lost consciousness listening to the fretting of her escort, the surviving being nearly drowned having weighed more heavily on her heart than being selected in the Reaping.

That is, until she woke up alone on the train.

@@MojoDash,

"Me? I am not very special, i have no family, no friends, not much to live for... The only things i do know how to do is hunt and kill, maybe it's fate that i was put in these games, but i don't know... I HATE these games, and if i ever get the chance, these games will burn, just with the rest of District 1!" Striker took a moment to calm down, and let his anger subside, noticing her false laughter he said, "You can calm down, if you want we can work together, the last thing i want to do is kill another pony, and if that means dying so be it, but i promise i will not kill anypony as long as i have to." Striker smiled, his smile was warm and friendly and would raise even the lowest of moments.

(OOC- Guys just so you all know, if people do not die in this RP, I will leave, because I have been in another Hunger Games RP and everyone did not want to die and then some guy turned into an alicorn? Well yes but you know, please do the Hunger Games properly!)

Frozen Mint, had finished talking to her mentor, just in time the train pulled to a halt and the ponies started to get off the train. Inside there was a massive building, the training dome, where we had to impress the judges, to get extra things in the games, if you impress the judges the more likely you are to live...

Addem stepped off the train, squinting into the bright sunlight. He glanced back at the stream of ponies behind him, then stepped forwards. As he passed through the doors, cool air washed over him; a pleasant change from the heat outside. He looked around at the sleek, shiny surfaces so common in the capitol. He'd never seen anything like them. And, for all he knew, he might not see them again.

"You up yet, filly?  We're at the Capitol, time to see your new digs."  Skimmer looked up to see a large earth pony with a solid green coat riddled with jagged scars.  He was standing next to the ridiculous unicorn from before.  "Name's Brush Runner.  Call me Bud.  From the look on your face, let me fill you in.  I'm the last victor from District 4 and I'm your mentor.  This is your escort Pearl.  The other tribute from our district is comin' with me, you're goin' with Pearl.  I feel it's best to not get the tributes to close so they can do what needs to be done when the time comes.  You'll meet him, but you ain't gettin' to know him.  Alright, love fest's over, get goin' with Pearl and I'll meet up with you later."

Skimmer tried to process all that's happened.  Nearly drowning, being selected in the reaping, having to fight, having to kill another pony.  She got the sudden and overwhelming sense that she was going to die.  Pearl read the emotions on Skimmer face and put a hoof over her shoulder.  "Now, now, we'll have none of that nervous nelly business right now.  It just would not do to look weak in front of the other tributes, darling.  And you're in public, so no crying, for goodness sake.  Ready?"

Skimmer plodded off the train like a mare marching to her death.  Which she probably was.  Hundreds of Capitol ponies were gathered around the train, cheering, jeering and adding to Skimmers urge to cry.  She didn't care who saw.  Her life was over.  With slumped wings, she left a trail of tears as she shuffled toward the training center.

Steel heard the train hiss its stop, so he got up and saw everypony else leaving the train. "What, are we at the capitol already? This train is fast!' Steel walked out behind addem, waving to a few people that he saw were looking at him. He went through the doors and saw everything chrome 'They have this quality metal here? Dang, I need to get some of that to play with. I wonder if I would be able to mix it with....' He follows everypony else through the building in his own thoughts

Stella narrowed her eyes, but his words ran through her head. Trust... Alive... As long... All need a friend... Wether or not this would lead her to death, she trusted him.

"I... I trust you." She said, barely making a sound, but knew he could hear her. She stood up, gladly taking his hoof, smiling and walking out with him. She gulped as she made her way to the doors. Stella's light blue eyes, shut and thought of her life, this new stallion she'd met and how quickly it could all be over.

((I'm thinking Stella's gonna become a little love struck... If you don't mind that is... ;3 ))

Frozen lead her friend Tumble and her self to the capitol, she didn't know what to think, her main fighting styles was her bow, daggers and close combat and of course her talent for making weapons just like most people in district 2. "So what are you good, didn't you say sewing, maybe you could make traps and stuff" Frozen smiled at her new companion and walked right up to the capitol....

"Well, got to make myself look good so I get extra points... you do too Tumble, try and make yourself look cute, maybe you could get the audience to like you if you look cute!" Frozen smiled and then started to walk into the capitol...

Tumble followed Frozen off the train and into the capitol, shaking like a leaf. She was trying to ignore everything around her when she heard Frozen ask her whether she could make traps. Tumble nodded, remembering a long ago lesson on making different kinds of traps.

When Frozen told her to try and look cute to try and attract sponsors she grimaced but nodded. She didn't really like the idea of dressing up to impress the ponies who would most likely be watching her death. She sighed and kept walking.

Frozen walked through the Capitol, it was a big place, Frozen could not believe her eyes, all of this was feeling like it was real at last, Frozen did not realize how real this was, children dying for entertainment, and showing off to get extra things in a war... Frozen looked at Tumble and smiled. She was going to protect her... whatever happened...

Solar Flicker yawned and pretended to wake up as the train screeched to a halt. She had been planning how she would present herself to the Capitol while the others fought and made alliances. She brought back memories of the tributes that had recieved the most donations in the past. They had been indepenent, fierce, surly, or cheery. Flicker had already figured out which trait to take on.

The Capital buildings loomed overhead and she forced herself to look amazed instead of showing the disgust she fealt when she thought of how many lives must have been lost in the making of the monuments.

@@MojoDash,

Striker was happy Stella had decided to trust him, she would make a great companion he was sure of it. As Striker walked out of the doors he looked at the giant city infront of him, his happiness quickly changed to anger his face went red as he look upon the riches of the city, Striker whispered aloud to himself, "One day, if i or anyone else gets the chance... this place will burn to the ground, brick by bloddy brick." He couldn't help it, as the last few words slipped out loud enough for most ponies within a few feet to hear. Striker calmed down as much as possible and walked with Stella to the training center, looking at her as he walked Striker asked, "So what did you do in district 3? It must have been nice there."

As the train screeched to a halt and ponies started going out, Chippy sashayed out of the train. As she stared around the capitol, she was clearly impressed.

"Hmm. This capitol is quite...nice." Chippy said with a grin, knowing it would get the others think she was sick for liking such a violent city. "Violent, rich, and busy. Just my type of place."

Chippy trotted into the training center, admiring all of the objects scattered around. Since she knew how to battle unarmed very well, she searched for something to work on her agility, since that was her main weakness.

Stella's ear flopped down and felt herself blush. Standing next to the stallion who was already a close friend was a challenge. She caught her breath as his harsh words about the capitol struck the cold air. She didn't admit it, but she too, agreed. She smiled and listened as Striker's mood became brighter.

"Huh. It wasn't to die for." She said, thinking back to her falling down house. "We studied technology and electricity, although we didn't have enough money for full electricity. We got treated terribly, and there wasn't that much food..." She said, then realising she was slightly exaggerating. They did get enough food to keep them alive, although everyone wanted more. "What about you?" She asked, using her time of happiness up as quick as possible. She wanted it to last forever though. Not going into that deadly arena.

Striker noticed a slight change in Stella, he couldn't put his hoof on it, he decided not to bring it up though. When he though of his home town he did not feel sad, but he was not happy either. "My district is... different, we have no food, no electricity, we work in ore mines, they usually collapse and kill ponies... Most of the ponies were afraid of me because i became hungry i had to resort to eating meat..." Striker realized how sad it all sounded and quickly tried to change the subject, "But Hey! I am alive, at least for now." Striker Smiled, it was as true a smile he could get it to be.

Stella realised how awful his district sounded compared to her own. "Oh that's terrible!" She blurted, feeling bad for the stallion. She studied his almost fake smile, and tried to lift his spirits. "Hey, I've had... An idea... A pretty crazy idea..." She thought thinking of a way to let them both survive. "And m... Maybe it'll become true, but I think this'll work..." She said, winking at the stallion.

"You see?! i knew you would be a useful companion, i am glad i have you around." Striker blushed a little, grinning, looking ahead of him was the training center. "Well..." Striker said looking at the building, "I guess we have to go in..." Striker said looking at Stella.
