Would you still watch the show if there was no fandom?

I don't really look at fanworks a lot. If there was no fandom in the beginning I would not have watched MLP. Of we mean the fandom just drops out of the earth I would still watch it. I have a problem of watching something to the bitter en no matter how bad it got..

If the fandom disappeared then I would probably still watch but it would soon die and stop being made. I wouldn't have watched it in the first place without the fandom bringing it all the attention it received and spiking my curiosity.

Yes, the fandom really didn't have anything to do with me starting to watch the show. And it hasn't had anything to do with the continuation of me watching the show or enjoying the MLP franchise.

Well... I found out about the show because I heard about some grown ups that watched it(bronies are the best advertising!); I got interested because I was looking for something cute and innocent to enjoy. I would still be interested and actually love the idea(as opposed to finding it weird: it was exactly what I wanted), but I probably wouldn't have seen anything about it ever without it's big fanbase, specially since MLP is barely heard of where I live, even now with the existence of the fandom.

Still, if I found out about it anyway, I would have watched it and loved it regardless. If the fandom disappeared now, my liking for the show wouldn't be affected. The fandom never affected my opinion on the show, it only made me aware of it's existence.

Iactually would because I don't do much outside the show.. I guess I would be sad if there was no fanart cause that is one thing I do do...

I would. I don't need other people to like what I like. It's not up to them, it's up to me (but I still love the fandom! )

Absolutly, the only reason I still make content in this community is becuase I still love the show. I never understood these people who are more fans of the fandom rather than the show. The fandom is like, about the show, so if you don't like the show, why are you here? I originally fell in love with the show, then wanted to branch out socially after wanting to share thoughts and feelings. Like I know people who have only seen a few episodes of season one, and make music or whatever, and only stick around for the community aspect. It's like they know, or are too afraid to make their own original stuff not grounded by the mlp fandom, and choose to use it as a starting point, which I guess if fine, but it comes off as so inauthentic to me.

The main reason I enjoy the show is because of the innocence of it; I used to watch The Muppets & Sesame Street because there was a charm to it that was wholesome & healthy... after Jim Henson died, it was open season for commercialism, which made me incredibly sad.

 

MLP has a touch of what was once an aspect of kid's shows; an innocent charm that spoke to the kid in me.  I LOVE the show for that... and I will continue to do so.

Probably not. Mainly because the fandom is the reason why I know what MLP even is. I never pay attention to modern media because I think 90% of it is total crap. Heck, I didn't even know what Game of Thrones was 'till last week.

Basically if I never knew what the fandom was I would never know what the show is.

Had there not been such a large community behind it I likely never would have known it existed, much less watch it. I'm sure the fact Lauren Faust was directing it would interest me enough to try it out, but I would still have been much more skeptical of it.

Well If the fandom didn't exist from the start then I never would have started to watch it. My story began with an argument. Why have an argument if the thing you were against doesn't exist?
