Here goes I guess :/    - Absolutely despise country all except for a very select few.... Johnny Cash well I love that man.   - Disney teeny bopper music  need I say more?   - I am not to big a fan of certain genres of metal where some songs all involve nothing but screaming... I think you could understand where I am going to a point. Not to say I do not like screaming because I certainly do but when it comes to listening to nothing but yelling throughout the whole song :/ I am just not into that.   - I don't have too much else to say beyond that

yes

yes

and yes

Good taste. happy.png

I'm going to probably get extreme fallout for this, but ......

The unrecognized metal genre of "Battle Metal", still under folk, is the best genre of metal. So excited for the backlash.derpy_emoticon1.png

This is surprisingly popular, since Country music is put as low as mainstream pop by critics right now

This is a popular opinion, and I myself as a fan of the kind of music that kind of music. Really the whole thing boils down to what you look for in a song, if you're someone who likes music for how emotional it can get in the angry department then yeah music that involves screaming is your kind of thing. It takes a while to get used to that kind of stuff for some people but it usually grows on.

Can't people use the term "growling" instead of "screaming"? Screaming is more of a punk thing.

No because that's bullshit, screaming isn't really used in Punk, it's used frequently in Hardcore music.

I was refering to hardcore punk. But yes, it's used in metalcore a lot.

It's not recognized because it's not a real genre, as most of it is a mix between separate genres. It really depends on the band but most mix between folk, and a few other genres. Turisas is a good example, as they're a mix of folk, symphonic and viking metal.

hehehehehe....so fun to screw with people. And yes, basically since I've joined the forum is all the experience I have with Metal so I don't have an opinion on any genre really, just as long as it's good.

No, I don't think "Battle"(folk) Metal is the best genre, just felt like trolling.tongue.png It is fun to listen to though.

The only viking metal I like is Bathory's album "Hammerheart". It's actually the first in the genre.

The Velvet Underground & Nico is NOT a proto-punk album. I love that album but there's only a few songs on there that I would consider proto-punk. White Light/White Heat is their only true proto-punk album.

Are you fvcking serious? That's about as harsh as music can possibly can get? I was not expecting you to like it

Try this then.

And this one too.

That's some good entry level stuff right there.

Disraeli Gears is not a psychedelic album. There's 3 or 4 songs on there that I would consider 'psychedelic' but the album as a whole seems way more like a blues-rock album to me.

Both were pretty good until the grunting began. I prefer growls over grunts.

Ten maybe 15 minutes later report: Okay so I've listened to them both a couple times now and they both seem alright. The grunting is no longer that bad.

Atom Heart Mother is one of Pink Floyd's best albums. In fact, I think it's even better than Meddle. Saucerful of Secrets is also a fantastic album. In some ways, I think it's better than Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Skream is the by far best Dubstep album of all time and there is no way anyone can convince me otherwise. Some people share my opinion, but many do not

- I believe UK Garage sounds terrible.

NO!

- Drumstep > All other sub-genres of dubstep.

NO!

No matter what your opinion on a certain band or genre is, it's never ignorance because they are fucking opinions. Saying that The Beatles is a heavy metal band is ignorance. Stating that they are bad is not, learn the differences

Personally I love now a days music, but I dislike pop I don't mind singing it but the trends change to fast, and most of the singers are self obsessed (Not all, one example is Jessie J, she shaved her head for comic relief, she is a role model!) And one other thing is boy bands, One Direction? Union J? Go to hell! XD (I am joking, but normally it is not about the signing but the looks, which annoys me and they always sing in the same genre, which is quite annoying, I am not judging from their personality but there voices and looks annoy me! :3 Just being honest!)

But the muse, they prove that music nowadays is good! :D

Oh yeah and I am crazy! >:3

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, and in fact I think they are kind of overrated, although I enjoy quite a few of their songs actually. However, I absolutely respect them for the fact that they had such an impact on music and were basically the most influential band of their time. I think saying they are bad is just kind of silly, considering how innovative a lot of their music was.

How good a band is shouldn't be based on how innovative it was. Justin Bieber is an innovative pop artist and have influenced several other artists, is he good because of that?

Try to keep innovativeness and quality apart

I disagree with this. Like for example, if someone says that a band that is incredibly godly talented sucks, then that's pretty ignorant in my opinion. Like they could not like the music, but that doesn't mean the band sucks. Also, if someone were to say the shittiest most talentless band ever is the greatest most talented band ever, then that's pretty ignorant too. I mean I understand it's their opinion, but it's still pretty ignorant.

Yeah I get what you're saying. Being innovative doesn't necessarily make your music amazing. Although different people have different tastes I suppose.

But going back to the Beatles, I honestly don't think they are anywhere near being the most talented band ever, although they were definitely not "pretty bad". Overrated, maybe. Bad, not really.

Although that song "Drive My Car" annoys the crap out of me, but that's cause my mom plays it all the time rofl

Hate to burst you bubble, but the Beatles don't suck, despite the fact that  they were not the most original band. Their music is somewhat good in my book, and their solo careers afterwards was even better. They were basically the "Nirvana" of their time and a lot of artists respected the shit out of them. These guys were pretty damn important, fuck Lennon and Harrison were both assassinated because of how important they were. I know my opinion is popular, just wondering how people can't think they are at least alright. It seems like a lot of other opinions as well have been influenced  by innovativeness as well, so @@Champion RD92, is not out of line. Plus he had opinion about music, since when is that banned from the opinion thread. It was basically the same as that guys post about the Edge earlier. Whatever I've done my rant

What on earth are you talking about? I said that people shouldn't judge a bands quality based on how innovative they are. If that's the case, all you need to do is get drunk, play something completely random and soulless, create a new sound and be praised as one of the best bands of all time.

Also, check that post I did once more. Where did I say that The Beatles were bad?

Regardless of your opinions on their music, the Beatles were the most well-known, most important, and most influential band of all time. That's a fact, whether you think they are good or bad or overrated or whatever. Just sayin'.

I'm sorry but I really hate it when people say a certain artist is overrated. That just talks more about their popularity than their actual music.

That's true, but sometimes an artist really is overrated...like Justin Bieber...just look at how ridiculously popular he is and look at how crappy his music is. Definitely doesn't deserve that popularity.
