Metallica sucks ass outside of sandman. No really, majority of their music is garbage that tries to live up to that one song.

 

"Dubstep" is just remixed sound bytes from other sources (usually licensed, hence the stuff can't be sold), and 99% techno otherwise. But heaven forbid we use the same title our parents had for music.

And still most of it blows compared to proper techno (ala Daft Punk for over 10 years now. But they've even been redubbed as dubstep IIRC)

 

Most rap is nonsensical garbage that could hardly be considered music in any part.

 

modern country is NOT country, its pop rock at its best. 90's country was regular rock. The only thing in any of them country is the costumes and maybe a faked accent or two. Even Pandora seems to agree, pop in for general country and you'll end up with bare naked ladies and other random groups amidst supposed modern country...

 

country rap is a joke.

when the singer sonds like nails on a chalkboard, or that they're gargling rocks. Or when a singer is merely talking in a monotonous tone with little to no background instrumentals. That's when it's bad music.

Maybe I had it backwards, but TMK and ear, most anything after that tried to live up to it (hints of the song mixed into everything else), and anything before it was ear wrenching or sounded extremely forced and like they weren't trying.

 

Oh remembered another one..

 

When the old/new singer took over for Kamelot after khan left, and whoever was there before him..

that screeching, bleeding ear causing howling of a banshee is just terrible... just... freaken.. terrible....

That's still subjective. Some people like heavy metal with harsh vocals, for example, and some people consider it "bad." I'm personally opposed to the idea that music can be "good" or "bad"; I think all art is subjective. What one person sees as bad, another person may see as good.

I do not like dubstep or techno. Bagpipes are freaking amazing. I do not like k-pop, or any sort of pop for that matter. Teen music stars are brats who need to be smacked by their parents. Bagpipes are freaking amazing, rap is the opposite. Not a fan of blues or country. Bagpipes are freaking amazing. Germanic metal kicks North American metal's butt. Bagpipes are freaking amazing. 

 

Not sure if I mentioned this, but bagpipes are bloody amazing.

 

There is no such thing as "bad" taste in music. Different people like different things, different is not inherently bad. It may seem logical, but people act like it's an unpopular idea.

Most mainstream music has no musical value. Particularly rap and it's whole note beat. Meaning, it isn't driving like Rock.

Post-Rock is underrated.

On that note, God is an Astronaut is one of the best bands to ever tour.

Justin Beiber's "Boyfriend" is actually one of my favorite songs.

The only rap I could ever listen to is a rap parody.

I really liked Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" but that might be possibly because of my sexual orientation...

MandoPony is an excellent maker of pony parodies. A few times, though, he hasn't quite hit the mark.

I don't think it's fair to dislike certain music just because it sounds "dated". I think it's actually pretty awesome that I can listen to something and feel like I'm sorta being transported back to a certain time. It makes the music all the more engaging.

I like Gospel and J-Pop, mostly from before 2010. AKB48 is one of the few groups I make exceptions for.

I probably said this before, but I think Death Magnetic is a severely underrated Metallica album. Most of the songs kick serious ass.

Breakbeat isn't as popular as it should be,  especially with DaVIP, Place 2B & Paimon's Remix of Crystalite by Vent just floating around.

It was released 2012 and I didn't hear about it until late last year. For EDM, this is the best song to be released in 2012. Song.

 

And Speedcore is amazing. I definitely understand why it's not as popular, but damn is it good!

Especially the Brony Speedcore albums Pinkamena Party & Rainblood & Vomit.

I only wish for Brony Crossbreed albums [which I'll probably have to make myself].

 

And Crossbreed! Crossbreed is best D&B! I honestly don't know how popular Crossbreed is, but DAYUMM!

 

EDM is not as popular as Rock on these forums, I think.. all I see is Classic Rock & Metal Rock. I like Classic, but don't listen to it.

Agreed. I don't know why some people don't like it. Is it the terrible audio quality? IDK.

-Avenged Sevenfold sucks.

-Kurt Cobain, while an amazing singer and artist, was no hero. He was a cowardly drug abuser who blew his brains out and left his daughter without a father

Yeah, I like a couple songs but I just can't get into most of their music. I think I just don't like the singer. My brother is a massive fan of A7X, he has all their albums and listens to them all the time.

-The Insane Clown Posse are good rappers

-Dubstep is the worst genre of music of all time in terms of creativity and originality

-I really don't like the extremely large majority of fan made MLP music

-I hate Pink Floyd. I can't stand any of their music for some reason.

-I really hate Daft Punk. How anyone can say their music (at least their newest album) is "innovative" is beyond me.

I literally have every song they've ever released lol. And I actually like their singer a lot, but to each their own I guess. One thing about A7X is that their more popular songs tend to be shit compared to their other songs.

I don't like Daft Punk either, I tried listening to a bunch of their songs and I really didn't like them, I thought they were annoying.

I'm not sure what's so horrible about the sound quality, although I've noticed the bass is kind of hard to hear...

Germanic and Scandinavian metal generally kick american metal's butt.

There is some good dubstep, but for the most part the sound is a grating mess.

Bagpipes are awesome.

Most death metal (or anything hard core) is just a mess of loud noise.

-Europe has probably best metal bands (there are some good American bands, but sorry, IMO Europe outmatches America here)

 

-dividing music into numerous subgenres is extremely pointless as it may only cause tension between fans of entire genre (anyone familiar with people arguing if Disturbed is metal or not for example?)

 

-Justin Bieber was promoted by haters and haters are the ones who give him most money (he earns on every single view You give him on YouTube, deal with it).

 

-Same thing applies to Rebecca Black and other crappy bands that people are suprised "that actually have fans". They don't. They don't need to.

 

-Yngwie Malmsteem is terribly overrated guitarist who mistakes art with sport. Guitar playing is not only about speed. Also he is big douchebag who thinks too high of himself.

 

-many instrumental parts in newer Dream Theater songs are out of place, utterly pointless and destroy good songs (The Count of Tuscany...)

 

-Metallica - Death Magnetic has probably worst mixing and mastering ever done in music industry. Also songs on this album have literally same structure as some songs written by them in the past. 

 

-Rick Rubin is terrible producer

 

-Classical music should be respected no matter what and it is place where "taste" does not exist. Without it there would be no jazz, blues, electronic music, rock, metal, even rap. It all has roots in this one genre. Deal with it.
