Just saw Kick-Ass. The first one, I mean. The sequel looks like utter shit.

 

Anyway, if you can get past a slow and unserious first act, you'll find that the film is a very smart, stylish, and cynical look at everything we just take for granted in our superhero stories. It has lovable, endearing characters, a stellar script, a shiny porcelain potty-mouth, and cinematography so masterful you'd swear it was made by Quentin Tarantino. I'd definitely recommend it.

Ugetsu Monogatari

 

Started off great and maintained an incredible eerie atmosphere throughout, but unfortunately I'm not all that fond of ghost stories.  This is one of those cases where I'm more taken with the style than the content. Still a fine movie, however.

I recently watched Blues Brothers 2000 out of curiousity.

 

It has no plot, it has no comedy, it doesn't even the other Blues Brother. So unless it has Nicholas Cage turning into Princess Luna, count me the fuck out of it! No really, it's HORRENDOUS! They replaced John Belushi with John Goodman and they replaced Dan Akroyd with.... OLD Dan Akroyd! As a stand-alone movie, it would make no sense. As a sequel to an absolute classic, it makes even less sense.

The last movie I saw in theaters however was Godzilla with my dad and let me tell you how much of a disappointment that was. Me and my dad both hated that movie so much, we literally almost fell asleep halfway into it.

I'm more of a TV person, but I think the last movie I watched was either Equestria Girls or Stargate. I'll see if I can find How To Train Your Dragon 2, it seems awesome.
