hmm...the last movie I watched was the 1973 movie The Wicker Man. It's one of my absolute favorites and I watch it more often than I probably should.

I finally got to see "Thor: The Dark World" last night. I loved it. I may be alone in this, but I think Darcy Lewis should have her own movie! She is so cool! You gotta respect an intern that goes and gets an intern of her own!

i just finished watching Oblivion again. I really love the setting in this movie, and i feel like it's one of Tom Cruise's better works.

I've also watched Runner Runner. This film, go watch it. Now! It's really amazing! :D

Transcendence - A scientist specializing in artificial intelligence becomes mortally wounded when an irradiated bullet brings him, his best friend, and his wife to transfer his consciousness into the digital world. However, unlike a man, the machine doesn’t know where to stop and soon plans to take over the world. There is only one way to stop it: destroy the Internet! Sounds exciting, right? Unfortunately, the premise behind the film is far more exciting than its execution. The film stars Johnny Depp as transcended scientist Dr. Will Caster (so, you can expect Depp’s will shall be casted upon others), Paul Bettany as Max Waters, Will’s best friend, Rebecca Hall as Will’s wife, Evelyn, and Morgan Freeman as fellow AI scientist Joseph Tagger. However, not even this pretty good cast can raise “Transcendence”.

Johnny Depp is known for his eccentric characterizations, but if you’re expecting a mad scientist personality from Dr. Caster, you will be disappointed. The audience can practically feel Depp’s aching to transcend the writer Jack Paglen’s script and act as the crazed computer that would be expected. Unfortunately, the breaking point never comes and instead we receive a rather bland and flat character from what should be an exciting concept. The plot that Paglen writes out is riddled with plot holes and twists that anyone could see coming.

First time director Wally Pfister’s direction doesn’t help much, either. Pfister musters little emotion from the actors, whose actions become as autonomous as the machines they’re surrounded by. The most exciting moment is the small scale battle that acts as the climax.

Mychael Danna’s score doesn’t do much to wake the audience from their seats. It’s the typical horn blaring noise that plagues “original” scoring in contemporary action films and doesn’t set itself or the film apart from any other original scores of the modern era.

To put it bluntly, the writing, the score, the delivery, is a total snooze fest. “Transcendence” has its high marks, and definitely leaves the audience pondering the theme of our dependency on technology, but the pacing and direction leaves something to be desired. For its amateurish execution and even lower entertainment value, this movie gets 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Saw City of Angels w/Nicolas Cage................pretty confusing, tbh.

Transcendence. It was boring. The writing really constricted the actors.

I had a feeling, even watching the trailers that the film would be boring.....

Draft Day, I am not too much into sports (they really are more fun to play than to watch) so I had to have my football crazy brother explain a couple of things to me but there are still the occasional sports movies that catch my interest. The movie itself was relatively entertaining even funny in some scenes and had a good message.
