Okay, so the gap between 'Brony' and 'Certified Brony' is pretty huge. 7,000 posts until certified brony? 

 

So I suggest adding some badges for the posts in between.

 

I think the guy who made the badges is gone, but maybe somepony could copy the style?

 

So, maybe it could go like this:
 

 

5,000: Griffon

7,000: Changeling or Dragon

10,000: Certified Brony

 

....or something....

 

This probably won't happen, but hey, it was worth suggesting.

I agree with the post above me. It be interesting to see more badges added to the current collection we do have now. I think it wouldn't be bad considering the idea. I personally, try to avoid making posts in other sections because I don't like the brony badge too much. : X

I think considering the age of the forums and how many posts some people have, I think this is worth adding. Every thousand posts from brony on result in another badge, which is pretty suitable really.

 

In short I think it's an excellent idea. It's just a matter of the graphics.

I don't really feel strongly either way. On one hand, there is a RIDICULOUS gap between Brony and Certified Brony. There's only 1 or 2 members who are even sort of relatively close to becoming a certified brony. On the other hand, though. do badges really matter? I personally don't like them too much. They just give some people a sense of superiority over others, and inferiority to the newer members when they see that someone with so many posts and has a fancy badge is really popular and vice versa.

I think the gap's fine as it is, really. There's already way too many badges in my opinion, and we don't need to clutter up and make the forums more confusing to newbies. I mean, with all these contrasting images on people's post, if I was new... I'd just find it more confusing. (Although I'm obsessive about clutter and minimalisticish.) Certified Brony is supposed to be a "secret" rank, from the impression I'm getting anyway. Kind of like your Ultimate Sword +1 in a video game. One that only a truly crazy forum goer is rewarded with if they actually are lucky enough to stay long enough and post in enough non-post count sections.

I like the idea of more badges, especially since I have issues with the Brony badge, and wouldn't want to be stuck with it for 7000 posts. It's a step down from the awesome pony badges, IMO.

Im cool with a few new badges, but I still think the gap should be increasing and large to some extent, maybe 2000 posts from brony to one and then 2000 for another and then the final certified brony be 3000 posts extra.

 

I don't think one every 1000 is nessary though.

 

Then again I don't exactly like to become totally obsessed with badges, in the end they don't really mean a whole lot.

Having new badges done by someone else, thus looking different than the ones we have now would be fairly inconsistent and would gnaw on both my OCD and general appeal. Not sure how probable this is in need nor implementation. Badges are for aesthetic appeal, so while the concept of 'freshening them up' makes sense, it's also important to remember that having shiny badges isn't really what we're about Badges only even exist due to Feld0 deciding to enact them a while back as a gift.

 

I guess what I'm saying is, while the idea of remaking what we have or replacing some of what we have with other, more appropriate icons might be cool, I don't think we should get into a habit of creating a bunch of new badges and throwing them onto the list, making it ultimately gigantic.

Notice how the image is cut off at the edges. I think you may have set the image size to 150 px wide and then used some sort of shade/outline feature which sometimes makes shades that's hard to spot. But if you look at the very end of the wings you'll see what I mean.

 

 

Personally I don't want 99999 more badges. The only one I'd be okay with is a badge between brony and certified brony at around.. 6500-7500 posts. More badges than that? No. I would like a badge between brony and certified brony, but... on the other hand I kinda agree with Arylett..
