What ideas has the fanon embedded into your headcanon?

Yeah, so earlier today at work I started thinking about my own headcanons and I just thought what ideas has the fanon or fan-canon given you about MLP characters or world?

 

About characters I'd say some of the biggest things I've gotten from the fanon are the sexualities of some of the ponies. For example, in my headcanon Braeburn is homosexual, due to the mass of fanfictions pointing that way Also because of the same reason I think of Rainbow Dash as a lesbian or at least bisexual.

 

This might be just my own thinking, but I think that earth-ponies have much longer lifespan than the other pony races (except for alicorns) This is because of Granny Smith of-course. When you think about the episodes "Winter Wrap-up" and "Family Appreciation Day" they make her look like she's at least 200 or maybe even 300 years old.

 

Also another one that stems from fanfiction is the idea that changelings weren't always like they are now. In my headcanon changelings were once some other race of ponies who were transformed to look like they do now by Discord. (Read the fanfic "Becoming Whole" by Chivalry for explanation on this. That has the best backstory for changelings I have ever read.)

MY crazy stuff that I have pumped for weeks now.

 

I have been thinking of creating a Portal to Equestria using a 3D world creator and linking it to a portal, create all sorts of creatures and stuff and make AIs. Weird, huh?

I've got headcanon involving other pony nations beyond Equestria, which I guess was planted in my mind by some of the fanon out there which suggests the same. Saw this really cool piece of artwork on dA that showed the flags of each of the artist's original nations, as if to imply that Equestria is actually a part of a union of kingdoms, much like the EU. Pretty cool shtuff.

 

Personally, I don't buy into much of the other popular fanon such as gay Braeburn / Les-bow Dash, but I do like the widespread agreement that Derpy is a normally functioning (albeit clumsy) member of society despite her permanent cross-eyed affliction.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna administrate the country through a parliamentary monarchy, and thus Shining Armor isn't just "part of the Army" or "part of the Guard", but a member of the Ministry of Defence, under which he is a Captain for the 1st Royal Guard Division.

 

The Wonderbolts are also part of the Ministry of Defence, as a Flight Demonstration team (like the real-world USAF Thunderbolts, and US Navy Blue Angels).

 

All characters are straight unless otherwise stated (which they won't be) because shut up.

 

Applejack and Pinkie Pie are characters that are least likely to fall in love and marry. (Not each other; stallions.)

 

The Moon has a semi-major-axis about 1/4 of our own moon, but still looks the same size in the sky because it's physically smaller. This explains why they have full moons so frequently, because then its orbital period would be slightly less than weekly, rather than monthly. It would also explain Granny Smith's explanation that the Apple Family Reunion happens every "100 moons", putting the time gap at about 2 years and 8 days since the opening of Season 1 (the first Family Reunion we saw) to when the next one occurred, half-way into Season 3.

 

Big Macintosh is genuinely shy, and if he really does pine for somepony in town, we may never know who it is because he talks so little. Or, he's taking the cautious approach in being with Cheerilee: "Nice guys finish last but they're after the girls who don't think it's a race."

 

If Pinkie Pie were to have offspring, her first birth would be triplets. (Just like how she was born.)

 

Ponies beaking into song is caused by a common gene in pony-kind from centuries ago when an annoyed wizard cursed a pony to only be able to sing instead of talk, and this spread whenever he [talked] sang to anypony. So randomly participating in a choreographed song and dance in Equestria is a common happenstance. It happens off-screen in the show for characters and storylines that we don't see, and may even involve the Mane cast as background characters for those other songs.

 

Spike will live to more than 1000 years old, but his aging process will be decelerated to the rate of that of a pony so that he 'keeps pace' with them, at least until Rarity dies of old age or natural causes.

 

When Rainbow Dash was a filly, a Flight Demonstration team experiment group made the statement that they believed the Sonic Rainboom was physically impossible (though they themselves we coming close, with all their advanced techniques and research.) Rainbow Dash proved them wrong and made a Rainboom for the first time since antiquity.

I'll start off with characters. One of my headcanons is that Lyra is over obsessed with these humans. I find it funny just because she will go at great lengths just to find them and be like them. Another one of mine is that Vinyl Scratch and Octavia are roommates. I like this one since they are into two different genres of music and have to put up with one another, but are still friends. One final headcanon of mine is that Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are a couple. I have read plenty of shipping fics.

The idea that embedded int my mind was, from Gamer Luna in which I thought of Luna and Celestia going on gaming adventures together.

Oh god, if there's one thing that was embedded towards my mind is the flutterdash cannon.

 

Now, I know shipping is a popular thing towards fans, however, these two together really work out more than I would've ever imagined, and seeing them together in episodes makes me think something big will happen to those two.

First of all all the Background pony names. Not to mention their backstories and other anythings about them really.

 

Um, and like. so many many many more.

 

I really can't think of them, theres to many . 

 

Plus some may have been my own thinking, i don't remember what I had as headcannon before joining the fandom.

 

Heck idk if I really had much of a headcannon before the fandom....
