gaming Being a Pokemon Gym Leader.

Welcome to my topic! I was playing pokemon and started thinking about the gym leaders. I was wondering: Why do they have all of these (what seems to be) rules? They can only have 3-4 pokemon of the same type, they only get one full restore, and they can never get sacked or quit. So I thought I would ask you guys some gym leader related questions. ehem...

 

1. What city/town would you be a gym leader for?

2. What type of pokemon would you use?

3. What pokemon of this type would you choose?

4. What game would you want to be in?

And the most important question...:

5. Would you even want to be a gym leader?

Ooh, this is great! I used to make many mono teams when I used to play the third generation competitively, so this should be fun!

 

1) I think I would be the gym leader for the 8th gym of whatever hypothetical region I'm in. It's no fun being the Brock where every starter can trounce your team and you're not able to go full power.

 

2) From my experience, I found my flying or steel team to be the strongest, but I'd go with flying to be fair. Metagross would just be cruel at that point of the game.

 

3) My team: Dodrio, Ninjask, Skarmory, Aerodactyl (signature pokemon)

 

4) I would like to be in the third generation before the whole weather / spike spam strategy was popular, so I suppose pokemon emerald.

 

5) Hahaha, no, I wouldnt want to be a gym leader; I'd want to be an elite four member! Dodrio, Skarmory, Aerodactyl, Dragonite, Salamance and Gyarados would be my full team in that scenario.

Well, I certainly agree with Celtore when talking about this so... Heres my answers:

1) Of course, 8th Gym, no matter the place

2) I would be a dragon type user, that way I can crush other people's ubers

3) Team: Haxorus, Garchomp, Salamance and a friggin Hydreigon

4) Well, I don't really care about it, but I would like the newest games. This way I can blow newbies up >

5) Nah. I would get bored really fast just standing there waiting for someone to challenge me...

2. I would use a fire type or water type pokemon. Since I feel that I'm more experienced with those two from the games.

1.)I would want to be Twinleaf, because I would be the 8th and be the hardest Plus I LOVE TWINLEAF!

2.) Multiple...DUH!

3.) Dragonite, Infernape, Blatiose, Electrive, Serperior and Lucario

4.) Ummm Platnuim/ Sinnoh

5.) YES!

1) Either the 6th or 7th gym. A fair challenge, but not the last hurdle.

2) Ground, so I could use my signature Pokemon: Golurk.

3) Dugtrio, Claydol, Seismitoad, and Golurk. Add on Flygon and Steelix for rematches.

4) BW/ BW2. I could probably just take Clay's place.

5) Everyone wants the glamour of being in the Elite Four or the Champion. Me, I'd be fine with being the stepping-stone that can get others to that glory. Now, that's not to say I wouldn't try to challenge the league after I retire...

1. I.'d be the 7th gym leader so I have little variety in my pokemon party. Therefore a trainer would have to come in with more than one type to trump me. My region would be the Jhoto league.

 

2. I'd use primarily dragon type pokemon because I love dragons more than anything in the world.

 

3. Pokemon team: Flygon, Dragonair, Salamence and Latias if legendary Pokemon are allowed.

 

4. Pokemon Crystal!

 

5. Yeah but I would like to be a Elite Four even better. It would be more reasonable to have a legendary pokemon in my team.

1.  Hmm, I can't really remember many of the towns but I'll go with Goldenrod City. If I end up too powerful, then I guess you'll just have to come back later like Viridian city.

3. Venasaur, Tangrowth, Breloom and Ludicolo
4. White 2
5. Probably not. It sounds like they just wait around all day for someone to challenge them. If they had a little more freedom to do things other than wait, then sure.

Type would be Steel

Pokemon would be: Steelix, Lucario, Aggron, and Metagross

Game would be Ruby/Sapphire, even though there already is a Steel trainer there.

Being a gym leader would be fun!

1. Blackthorn in Johto. So I guess I'd replace Clair and be 8th.

2. Dark because there should really be a Dark type gym by now.

3. Zoroark, Umbreon, Weavile, Houndoom

4. White 2 despite the fact Johto isn't in the game...

5. Maybe? I think being a normal trainer would be better, you can see more of the world and whatnot. Now an Elite 4 on the other hand...

Gym Leader? Pfft, forget that, I'd go straight for the Elite 4, and be the reigning champion! Fear me and my Entei!

Oh and I guess my other favorite Pokes like Cloyster and Latias, but it's not like you'll live through Entei's Flare Blitz.

1. Town... don't know. But in Hoenn, since it's my favorite region.

2. Dark. Still needs to be implied in a game.

5. It's Better than Elite 4. Standing alone in a room for who-knows-how-long appears to be a bit... boring.
