Final Fantasy VII is way overrated in almost every single way and Nintendo consoles aren't as great as everyone says.

True, the consoles themselves aren't as great as they could be(especially Wii), but you gotta admit Nintendo has always made some pretty kickass games(again, especially for Wii, imo at least).

 

Mario was a good series up to the Wii. All the NES, SNES, and 64, etc, were great, instant classic, but the wii's were just baaddd.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii wasn't that great, sure, but surely you can't say that the Galaxy games are bad!

Oh, this is just the thread for me:

 

 

 

-Gamecube controllers are uncomfortable and break easily

-I enjoy games that I don't have fun while playing

-God of War I was good, but the sequels were completely unnecessary.

-Team Fortress 2 is fun, but it would be better with less variety.

-Batman Arkham Asylum should have been a standalone game

-Motion controls are enough to ruin a game

-Micromanaging inventory in RPG's is fun

-Handhelds are annoying and the games should be available on consoles outside of emulators

-Luigi's Mansion is the best horror game ever made

-Multiplayer games should be created on their own, rather than stitched on to a singleplayer game

-Every Resident Evil game other than 4 was terrible

-Game trailers are useless hype

-The Assassin's Creed series could have ended two games ago

-Grand Theft Auto isn't very fun

-Portal 2 was an unnecessary sequel

I've seen a lot of indie games that use a pixelated simplistic art style.

Gamestop may have killed the game industry!

 

Now that seems pretty bizarre and out of left field. How do I back it up?

Used Games... they are evil.

 

Now I'm not talking about a used game sitting around for years. By then it would never be printed again so Used Copies are essential, but not for new games....

 

You see when a game is released the company only makes money on the purchases of new copies. And people only typically buy new copies within a 2 week release period. By then Gamestop then circulates used copies of a relatively new game, they may even have new copies ready for purchase, but most people go for the used to save $5 or get some kind of sale.

 

This means companies have to sell their games FAST! If a game doesn't have a big launch then people just buy the used copies and to the publishers of the game all those people might as well be pirating it since they make no profit from secondary circulation.

 

Now this mean crying big publishers, and frankly I'm okay with that. It's nice to see the big boys get taken down a peg... until now when they start to take it out on US!

 

Online Passes, Retail Exclusives, Pre-Order Bonus, Early Access, these plague games today and lock you out of content from not picking up a new copy from Gamestop. I despise these practices. But they are really a punishment towards us for this new huge increase of Used Game sales. I find it sad that the industry is forced to this terrible shape and we are getting the worst of it.

 

Especially if the new gen consoles support the publishers by blocking used discs! If that happens then say goodbye to the longevity to the next console generation!

 

Its okay... I planned on building a super computer, exclusively using Steam, and flying to the moon!

A version of DnD that uses an online interface would be perfect!

I live in a small rural town, one that's all "Football and hunting or GTFO" so it's hard to find others with an interest for it.

Morrowind was and will always be the best Elder Scrolls Game, all the rest were horribly sub-par and without mods would have been meh at best. (not talking about anything pre-Morrowind though, those beasts are great in their own way, and Daggerfall is fun in a crazy scratch your eyes out with a sharpened pen sort of way)

Madden is the best sports series. They always find ways to make the next year unique and special.

But football fans don't care about adding features. They want the gameplay to be the most accurate it can as if it's a real football game. The major complaint over the years with Madden/NCAA is that the gameplay sucks and instead of improving it, EA just adds new modes and features.

Pokémon Black & White 2 are unnecessary, at least in terms of bringing back a bunch of old poke's. I thought Gen 5 was supposed to be a kind of "new beginning" or something; new region, all new poke's instead of just adding (sometimes ugly and/or unnecessary) evolutions to existing poke's... *glares at Magmortar and the like* Black/white Kyurem I can get used to and learn to like, but ugh. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Something tells me that "realistic gameplay" in a football video game (or other sports game for that matter) won't come out in our lifetimes at the rate the Madden games seem to be going at. Besides, if people want realistic football gameplay, they should invite some friends over, go outside for some fresh air, and find a place to play some real football IMO.
