What Fan Animators Could Work Best on the Series?

Alright, hypothetical scenario: say DHX suddenly decides one day to just quit working on MLP:FiM. Doom and gloom runs rampart throughout the community, and Hasbro and the Hub need to find another studio to work on the show, fast. So then one day they say to themselves "Hey! There's a whole community of bronies who animate things based off the show on a regular basis! We should get some of them to do it!" and so they decide off this whim tp search for fan animators to do the show. Question is though, who could do it best? We have folks like FlamingoRich, who created the fan episode Double Rainboom, Silly Filly Studios, who are responsible for the beautiful Snowdrop, and Jan Animations, who are probably best known for their Music Video Animation of the song Picture Perfect Pony and the Let's Go and Meet the Bronies animation they did for the brony documentary, as well as a few others. So who do you think could do it best? One of these or someone I missed? Hypothetically, of course.

I would say Jan Animations. The animations from them (?) are amazing and looks like show quality. The double rainboom animation was good too, but they said it would be 100% accurate to the show, it was not. Silly filly studios are also good

Jan Animations seems to be the best animators out of all of them, and also very show-accurate, possibly better. The other two aren't as show accurate compared to Jan Animations.

I think Zachary Rich would be on of the people to work the best on the series. I think Double Rainboom has had amazing animating.

Jan Animations would definitely work pretty well in the animation team with DHX on working on the animation in the show, to help Hasbro if DHX does decide to leave.

Jan Animations already made the official Bronycon Documentary animations. I think that already gives them an edge from the others. But they really are also the best, IMO.

The two animators I'm familiar with are Jan and Zachary Rich(& Team). I would give the edge to Jan currently as I believe he actually does freelance animation work whereas Zachary Rich just finished his degree and recently got a job at a studio(iirc). I would be happy with either of them doing the animating. But the bigger thing is the Director. The director of the series is much more crucial to the success as they have final say in whether an animatic is ready to go to production. Which is then just animated by the animators.

 

 

The good thing is that DHX wouldn't just suddenly stop working on the series (that's like saying "no we don't want your money hasbro!") because at this point Im pretty certain a lot of the animators love working on the show.

I agree with everyone, actually Jan Animations is the only one that has a show "identic" animation style. The people that made snowdrop has some neat stuff as well, only these 2 I would say.

You pretty much had all the animators who I thought would fit the job perfectly.

 

Yet, another one who I think would do a great job is Max Gillardi AKA Hotdiggedydemon.

 

Yes, his humor and animation is dark, harsh, and more adult oriented, but despite all that, he does have a creative way in terms of telling a story, such as connecting the tumblr of Jappleack and the mane 6 together.

 

If Dave Polsky, one of the writers from south park could work into MLP FIM, I guess Max could do a great job as well.

Hm... after seeing all the .MOV videos, I'm not sure if he could pull off the FiM style, or if I'd even want him to touch it honestly...

Didn't know Dave Polsky worked on South Park though, that's cool I guess.

JanAnimations would probably be best for the job. His animating skill is equivalent to the actual animators for the show in my opinion, and I think he would do a great job.

 

The others are good too, but their animation isn't as top-notch.
