In games, websites and forums such as this one, some people grab usernames from their favourite characters, while others come up with the most clever ones.

Post some of your favourite usernames that you've either seen or created, and if there is one, give the story behind it.

(If you're thinking I made this topic due to my lack of creativity and desperation for a good username that I can steal...Congratulations, you're right! Just kidding.)

 

I would say how my username was formulated, but that would be inappropriate.

That's cool. I usually just think when people put numbers in their usernames, it's to fill in some space or because the original username they wanted was taken. And for the numbers, I often assume they're just numbers the person think is "cool" or their birthdate or something. It's interesting to see someone have a story behind the numbers. Would've never expected the "7" to come out from there.

As far as creative usernames go tough, well, there's Fubz, and Lord Bababa, and MatrixChicken, and Moog, and PinkieDaShy's "Buffawalrus Queen", but the best is probably SmittyWerbenjagermanjense.

 

Actually those all might be a tad more 'random' than 'creative' but hey, what the hell right?

Batman + brony = Batbrony (no duh, right? ).  Certainly not the most creative username in the world, but I love Batman, I love being a brony, and when I saw that nopony else had claimed this username, I decided, "what the heck, why not?" and not only chose it as my username, but decided I'd make a character out of it as well.  Ever since then, I've had a ton of Batfun playing the role.

 

Speaking of being in character, I'm off!!! *cue dramatic exit*

Mightyputty was a favourite gaming username of mine. It was associated with power and might; after all, Mightyputty is a Billy Mays product that represents strength! I also used it because it's synonymous with the internet and its humour; after all, I love slap-stick humour. 

 

Another favourite username I found was MarginallyRandom from Origin; he plays a crap load of NFS: MW 2012. It just screams, "Hey I'm going to randomly take you down with my Bugatti Veyron!" 

 

From the MLPForums, AnotherCreativeUsername stuck out; the sarcasm in it's so strong. Makes me snicker every time I see it. 

 

Out of all, my absolute favourite was from FIFA13. Try naming your player Mike Litoris. Nough said.

I wouldn't say that my username is creative since is it the name of a Death song, but it is the most obtuse. I was going to use another song by them, Lack of Comprehension, which is my favorite Death song, but I had no space for it, so I went with my second favorite song by them.

For some reason, everytime I look at your username, my dirty mind thinks it says blackroseSEX, but when I zoom in with my phone, I feel so dumb, as it clearly does not say that. O_o

I used to have the name "ThyFlesh" which I got when I was young putting 2 cool words together. (account still exists on here), but I then decided that that name was 2 evil and didn't induce happiness in people.

 

So I tried to think of something that would make people feel happy and was a little bit comical. I like plants and I wanted it to be happy so I just went with Happy Plant.

 

It's funny because now some people think that I mean weed, when I really don't ><!

My username on here actually comes from my username on my deviantart account which a friend of mine came up with, I was originally going to use BladeEdge86 which is a name I have used or some variation of it for quite some time but he said "you can do better than that.". So he helped me come up with this name and then when I signed up here I started using it here and it also became my username for my fimfiction account. For those of you who are wondering it is in fact a reference to Avatar the Last Airbender more particularly the element that personality wise I feel I am the closest to.

 

The name BladeEdge86 is a variation of the name BladeEdge (and a reference to the year I was born) which I used on this one anime forum I became a member and later a moderator of years ago but left forever due to disagreements with the new site owner. I later used the name for several other sites and forums including my youtube channels BladeEdge86 and BladeEdge1776. BladeEdge86 served as my primary youtube channel and BladeEdge1776 was my backup, after a recent decision a few months back I decided to put Autism videos on BladeEdge86 from now on and have BladeEdge1776 serve as my political channel. But because I have already posted so many politcal videos on BladeEdge86 and it would be a pain to move them they will stay on that channel indefinitely. 

 

Star Wars The Old Republic was where my creativity in usernmaes really shined though. I have a Sith Warrior named Mr Stabby (as well as female one named Mrs. Stabby), a Bounty Hunter named Mr Blasty and a smuggler named Bustacap.

Okay, so I used to use the name Nightfall on other sites but somepony stole it before I came to this site. Anyway, I liked the name Nightfall because when I was really young there was this game called Dino Run. I still play it. Anyway, one of the levels was called Nightfall. VOILA.

(This one isn't mine) I used to go on this place called Ponyplace. I didn't know what I should call myself, but there was this guy called 'Tech'. We became fast friends. I find this name creative because of how simple, how many varients, and how rememberable it is. I needed to come up with a one-word catchy username, so I came up with...

Oh man, you all saw this coming. Shift just POPPED into my mind like WHAM. I don't know why, but I started using the name 'Shift' on all of the websites I go on...including this one. It's creative and catchy I think, and I can come up with a lot of varients. Plus, it's remember able.
 
Some other usernames I came up with and anyone is free to use are Resolution, Desktop, and Royal Canterlot.

Corrosive Cows is my XBL gamertag, and I've just always like the Corrosive title. I thought of Corrosive Cows because I like Cows and corrosive is one of my favorite elemental weapons in the Borderlands series and other things. It was also original haha

My Deviantart name, Kozmotis, comes from the Guardians of Childhood books. Kozmotis's story was so heartbreaking, and he had such an awesome name, so I really wanted to use it.

Another FIFA user name was Hoo Lee Sheet and yet another one was Ray Peest. Oh KSI and friends are just hilarious. I'll never forget those soccer player names xDD

 

Now since everyone is talking about their own username, I guess I'll say where mine's from. I switched from Derpity Derp to Sterling Crimson because I felt the latter was more original. Plus, it reflected the fact that I like to shine as a musician (ie Sterling) and the fact I like Red and Brown colours (ie Crimson). I actually had the inspiration for the name because I used to love NASCAR when I was younger. Sterling Marlin was the inspiration for my username; he's a retired NASCAR racer.

For a long time I had a dumb username. Then I tried something new on a different forum, using the name "Red". I though that was nice, but I didn't like that colour, so I changed my mind when joining this one.

It's a pretty simple and short name.

I don't think that my name is particularly creative, but at least it's fairly original. XD I came up with Pripyat Horse as an internet username after I got sick of constantly using Kiss related usernames and wanted something different. I edited it to Pripyat Pony when I signed up here cuz it fitted better. It refers to my obsession with Pripyat and the Chernobyl disaster, and also this photo that I saw and liked very much, of a wild horse standing in the ruined city.

 

Weirdly enough, all the usernames I've used are very male sounding; I often get mistaken for male when I am in fact female. Here's some other names I've used:

1. Pikachu is my favorite pokemon

2. 25: Pikachu's pokedex number

3. sci: First three letters of my favorite subject in school: Science

4. 95: The power of Pikachu's signature Thunderbolt

5. vt: The initials of another of Pikachu's signature moves: Volt-Tackle

 

My username here: Thunder-Dash, is my primary OC's name. I actually earned the nickname from one of my fellow brony friends who witnessed my quickness and athleticism in dodgeball.  

 

On another forum: swiftor.com, my username is Agent Steller. I actually gave myself the nickname Steller. 

 

On a music forum: musicbanter.com., my username is PianoLuva4Eva

I came up with that one 'cause I'm a pianist and I have a giant love for piano.
