I used to exclusively play mid, but my cousin forced me to buy two top champs and I really liked playing top. Today my computer lagged and I didn't get to call mid or top, so for the first time ever I played ADC, and also first time Graves. Man was I bad! I seriously need to clean up some of my positions. I've never jungled or supported before and today was my first time ADC. Yea...

So, my group of college friends and I just played a normal.

 

As we load in, we see their top Trundle's name.

Our top laner was like "Oh, fuck, nonononononno"

 

We are confused until he explains he's in D1 and was in challenger for most of the season, and then we shit brix.

 

But then, we proceed to win through some miracle of blitz pulls, ezreal fedness, naut hooks (I was the naut) and other such nonsense. Our top laner (RANGO WHYYYY) did get creamed though, but not enough to make him totally useless. Hooray!

Playing since: Don't know the exact date ofcourse, but I was first introduced to the game right after it was released.

Preferred role: Really into solo top as of late, but I have lots of experience with mid lane and jungling. Mid has been my main role most of the time.

Ranked Division: Bronze IV...  Started at Bronze I, had a chance for Silver but it went completely downhill from there. I only played with randoms and I've noticed that Ranked play in S3 is even more ridiculous than Normal games when you don't have a team with friends. The amount of ragers and trollers in Ranked games is just too damn high. And the fact that you only get points for WINNING games kinda pisses me off.

Favorite gametypes: ARAM and 5v5. I do enjoy a game of Dominion every once in a while.

well, after a couple days of grinding i made it to gold V! rewards here i come! i feel like i could have gone further given more time.

 

btw anyone try the mystery gift system? you basically pay 490 to gift someone a random skin for a champion they own. i only got 1 from my buddy but i got aetherwing kayle which is 1820 rp! also got headmistress fiora from another friend.

Congrats on making it into gold! As for the mystery gifting, I gave my friend one that wound up being for his main (Ashe) and in return he gave me one for my main (Ziggs). It was happy for all involved.

Created acc. Played 10 provisionals. Got placed in S1. Played 4 games. Entered promo to gold with high MMR (S1 teamed against Plat V/IV, G1's.) Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Win. 19 games and gold's here.

well, you clearly didnt experience the bad luck of trolling team mates that many do in their placement matches. I for one have been gold in all previous seasons but then when season 3 started, i lost 5 of my 10 due to leavers and downright trolling team mates and got thrown in silver 5. i cant talk for bronze players but actual "elo hell" isnt as much of a thing with the league system. it was more back when falling bellow 1300 elo meant you would just keep going down , losing more for losses than you gain from wins.

I'm sure there are numerous other threads about League of Legends, but personally I accept the game for what it is. LoL is a watered down DotA that is more accessible for new players. The champions lack the complexity of their DotA counterparts, and the build variety and item diversity is comparatively lacking. That being said, I only play ARAMs in LoL. It's a fun enough game type that my friends and I can enjoy. Otherwise, we stick to DotA for the more traditional 5v5 gameplay.

I'm not a moba fan. I have friends that play the game all day, though, and I put up with it. And then I have the friends that play DotA that will argue with the League people. It's a really annoying combination tbh.

I've never actually played LoL, due to the fact that my computer can't run it, not to mention the fact I have no Ethernet cable, but I'd really like to play.

I played it a little bit back in the day, then I couldn't play it because of no reason whatsoever. I have no idea what that was about. Anyway, from what I have played of it, it was pretty fun. I never played against people since I prefer playing alone, so it was bots for me. My favorite champion was and still is Cho'Gath because he was an awesome demon dragon monster.

League of Legends is okay, but not really something I enjoy too much. I did not like the systems there, when I played it I found it a bit messy. I perfer Dota 2, but League of Legends is just okay. (People was very rude in there.  )

I played it with friends every day for the better part of a month. It was fun for a while and then we all agreed to quit. Haven't really had the desire to go back since. It was a lot of fun playing it together and I think we managed to avoid the worst of the LoL community because we didn't have many negative experiences.

 

League of Legends is a fun game but it get's really repetitive after a while (even with all the different characters). At least it did for me.

I honestly think its a great game to just hang out with friends and play, but I almost certainly wouldn't play (at least to the extent that I do now), if I didn't have a friend group that played with me. I find its appeal in the social aspect of the game and enjoy when I can sit down and just play around a bit with people I can talk to.

It is a very fun game to play with friends, also when you're playing against other players. It is definitely something worth playing especially for fun or to be competitive, so there is something for everyone.
