The Wait Time

The Wait period for posting needs to go. I had to wait 7 minutes to post one thing not too long ago, and that's just plain stupid. There shouldn't be a timer for when you could post, anyway, as it is THE PERFECT WAY to lose members. Seriously, guys. Get rid of it.

The wait time is one minute and it exists to prevent excessive spam. If you ever have to wait more than a minute to post again, contact the staff via a support ticket and they can help you sort it.

Yeah, its only 1 minute, trust me I know, i've posted to the point where it goes off and stuff, and i saw the timer for it somewhere.

 

I think they where thinking of making a new way to deal with spam, but i have no idea about it.

I don't think it should be removed. A limit between posts prevents spam. Also, people over in Forum Games would get ninja'd much more often if there was no wait time, and forum games wouldn't be as fun.

 

As for waiting seven minutes, I'm not too sure about that. The problem must be on your end, as most other users including me only have to wait a minute. I suggest contacting the staff here http://mlpforums.com/index.php?app=nexus&module=support if the problem continues.

As has been said, the wait time is just around 60 seconds, and remarkably few people even encounter it let alone consistently find it irritating. If you're experiencing seven whole minutes, something is wonky, and you should create a Technical Support Ticket as Chaser linked, to see if we can troubleshoot and solve the issue :3

Flood control is essential for a forum. Without it, anyone and their mother could come here and bot the forum into oblivion. 

 

It takes me way more than a minute to make a post anyway, unless I'm in Cloudsdale Colosseum. I don't even run into it a whole lot when using Cloudsdale Colosseum, and when I do, I'm fine with it, because I know how essential it is to the forum's security.

As the other folk before me have said: the wait time is essential for cutting down spam, also it allows members to think about what they write.

 

And it really shouldn't be seven minutes, you should only have to wait one. I recommend writing a support ticket if such issue pervades.
