Something that happened on Twitter about Lauren Faust and Meghan

I don't know if any of you knew about this but look:

It seems that a fan who accidently tageed Fyre_flyre telling Meghan that she is Better than Faust. Now it seems that Lauren did not handle this very well. I mean does she know that because of her the "rabid" Bronies are going to try and do anything to hurt this guy? I wouldn't suprised if someone tried to track him down.

Well, her reaction could be worse, but I agree with her that mentioning her was not really a good move.

 

And I hope that no one is actually stupid enough to attack that guy now. Don't want to read negative opinions about bronies again... Or do you?

So what if he thinks that? It's literally just an opinion. And the "rabid" bronies don't need to go after someone for having a different opinion, I know I received a lot of hate for disliking Princess Luna. 

Tagging her was wrong though.

I respect people's right to have an opinion, I do not respect people rudely stating their opinion (which I believe he did). I think a better compliment would have been "Wow @MMeghanMcCarthy, I really liked the way you handled Season 3" or something.

 

Or it would have just been simpler to type out "Lauren Faust". She wouldn't have seen the tweet unless she was constantly searching her name.

I'm actually more interested in Lauren's reaction. This one guy's opinion is enough to get you to feel awful? And even if it's hyperbole, she could've easily just ignored it. Anyway, I hope this guy doesn't get attacked by a bunch of rabid Faustians.

Rabid bronies...I don't doubt that they will do something, but it's going to be more along the lines of whining and arguing like three year olds that this guy's opinion is wrong and he should feel bad. It's just his opinion. Also, he said he meant no offense. Though I know nothing about Twitter, I think he should have at least did something so it didn't end up in Lauren's feed. Speaking of Lauren, she could have handled that a little better. It was just an accident.

Eh, her reaction didn't seem all that harsh or shocked or offended, that said people will still probably get on the guy.

 

However I guess to be fair he could've not tagged Lauren in the tweet, kinda seems almost like he wanted to offend her in a way, maybe its just me though.

 

It doesn't seem like that big a deal, Lauren doesn't seem all that upset frankly.

So, what did this guy do wrong? He accidentally tagged Faust? I guess that was a mistake, but it is HIS opinion. Quite frankly, I actually agree with him. You had your shot Faust, and you left.

 

If people seriously attack this guy online, I am going to face palm more than I do normally. He said that he meant no offense, so it is Faust's fault that she is offended, instead of just saying 'That's cool'.

From what I have seen and heard about Lauren Faust... well she strikes me as the kind of person that probably has mild depression (pure speculation on my part). MLP was her baby, and losing it was more than a little hard to take. I can kind of understand her reaction. I mean getting a cartoon off the ground is stressful and if I were in her shoes... heck I might have said the same thing.

 

I'd be interested to know what the follow up reactions on Twitter were like.

Almost equal fault in my opinion. This guy shouldn't have tagged Lauren, and even if it was an accident he should definitely apologize to her; I also think Lauren should not have singled this guy out, granted she does have every right to do so (and I don't blame her), she has to know that Bronies are force to be reckoned with and can over-react on a massive scale for what they love, and many love Faust. So on her part "With great power comes great responsibility" comes to mind, and on the twitter user's part, when it comes to tags "check yo'self before you wreck yo'self."

 

EDIT: Also, I agree with @Sir.Flutter Hooves (Right below) that it is quite possible Lauren is not entirely serious.

I really don't see the big deal. It's his opinion and if he wants to think that he should. Was it good to tag Lauren in? No, kind of a bone headed move but it was an accident. And I can just tell Lauren is joking, she never gets mad. She's to cool to get bad.

I honestly think she should have handled the situation better then she already had. Yeah, he shouldn't have done that, but respond in such a way back? I'm sure you get this done multiple times. You don't need to single the dude out. Its an almost certain that bronies that are rapid will attack him, and she should know this. She shouldn't be super offended, there are people that like Megan and people that prefer Faust. It shouldn't be the end of the world.

I don't see the problem, it's his opinion on the show. However, In a way he wanted her to know of his opinion seeing as he purposely tagged her on Twitter which is somewhat a jerkish move that I wouldn't do, but he didn't harm anyone so we should let him have his opinion.

 

I hope rabid bronies don't hunt him down.

It scares me to think that there are fans out there who would attack this guy over this. He was just stating his opinion, and he wasn't even being that mean about it. He didn't necessarily say that Faust's work was bad; he said he felt like McCarthy is doing a better job. It's understandable that Lauren Faust would get hurt by this, but I think she should have simply acknowledged it and moved on. Lauren's tweet makes the guy's comment sound a lot more meaner than it actually was. I really hope those "rabid" bronies you speak of don't give this guy a hard time. A guy getting harassed by bronies just because he said a certain writer was doing a better job than an old one would give us all a really bad name.

That is something I would never expect. Sure, he is entitled to his opinion but he didn't have to tag one of the writers in his post. But, Lauren could have handled it a bit better. Well, drama will always happen in the fandom.

It's the internetz, where everypony is free to state their opinions. This is a digital land where trolls exist, flame wars occur every five seconds and where people may take things way too seriously. 

 

I like Lauren Faust and I appreciate her works, but at the same time it doesn't hurt to have input from other creative sources. Do I like the newer episodes and movie? not really. Do I still enjoy them just as well? Yeah.

 

One dude posts his opinion and suddenly we lose our crap. Neither one is in the wrong about this. To be honest I'm more concerned about his grammar.

It's completely obvious how many bronies are going to react to this:
"OMG HE HURT OUR LAUREN LET'S CYBERBULLY HIM AND TEACH HIM A LESSON HUEHUE."

I believe a dozen other bronies must've said the same thing about Lauren, so why this guy? 
She shouldn't have done that, it's apparent that he didn't mean to tag her...but that's his opinion, so either Lauren can just sit there and take it like an adult, or she can just keep doing what she just did and get the poor man hurt. Jeez, it's only his opinion.
