movies/tv new doctor announced? what do ya think?

The new doctor who was announced today. The 12th doctor is to be played by a Peter Capaldi. No I don't know who he is so put your hands down. So tell me your thoughts on this. Do you think he'll be good as the doctor? What do you think his personality will be like? Or will there be rioting in the streets? I wanna know what you guys think.

It is very hard to answer the questions, having not seen Peter Capaldi in even one episode yet. To truely judge, a whole season would be required, IMHO.

not sure if i like him yet or not. he doesnt really look the part of a primary protagonist to me, more of a minor antagonist or something. but, we'll see how he goes i guess.

When Matt Smith took over as the Doctor I stopped watching it for a while, thinking that he was just trying to be a really bad replacement of David Tennant. When I went and started watching them again I found that he was just as good, and a lot more original than I had expected.

 

So yeah, I'll give this guy a chance: seems like they are going 'darker and edgier' like they did with the first of the new doctors (forgotten his name) if looks are anything to go by, but maybe thats what we need.

 

Look at him, he's clearly going to be a sarcastic snarker of a doctor: which I would find really entertaining I think.

I'm a fan of Capaldi, so I'd say pretty solid casting. Nothing too noteworthy, but I'm optimistic that he'll make a good Doctor. Hopefully, he'll take after the Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor and be a bit more serious. At least more grounded than Ten and Eleven. I love them both, but we need a change of pace.

Looking forward to the new doctor although I love Matt Smith's portrayal of The Doctor. Eleventh is can just so childish for his (the Doctor) age. But it is Eleventh that made me cry a lot.

 

Before we judge, we will have to see how he perform as the beloved Timelord.
