music All Japanese music removed?

I keep wanting to look up certain on You Tube and I noticed a lot of music from anime's and stuff have been either muted or removed because of copyright! Like Utada Hikaru's sanctuary and simple and clean songs from kingdom hearts and Nagareboshi from Naruto!

What a tragedy! Maybe the owners or the producers who made the music, decided to track down people who post the music. That does not sound good.

Its very possible, I know that Nintendo recently went hard on the DRM front as started to make all Nintendo featuring videos copyrighted to them and also took down a bunch.

 

I hope it's not the case, but I presume people will upload them as fast as they are being taken down, you should see more videos put up soon !

I realized that too. It's really sad, I mean.. sure, copyright and stuff, but there are some people who just aren't able to buy things from japan, even if they'd want to. Also often youtube made me to start to watch an anime (and love it), because I watched an amv.. or start to like a japanese singer, because of his songs on youtube. I hope there won't be more deleted ones.

Well, I just gave it a quick look and I can see whole KH soundtrack on Youtube, just as well as Sanctuary, by various posters, many versions of it... So, I don't know. Maybe someone just decided to take down their account or a video. Or maybe forgot to put up the copyright notice.

 

Seeing what Atari and Nintendo sometimes does in the recent years, it wouldn't be that surprising, but I just don't see it now.

If that happened I'd be a little saddened, but It looks like it is just those videos specifically that are missing. I still can see uncountable Japanese music listed on Youtube.

It has a lot to do with the record labels. Like Avex or EMI sadly this is why I think Jpop is losing fans overseas because it's hard to access when KPOP is easier to get and is getting more over seas fans...Then again the Japanese music industry really only cares about staying in Japan.

Whats Jpop? and yeah your right they probably do. Japan never seems to care about the US that's why they grt everything before we do if it's from there and when they do it's better then what we get.

I know what you mean, even in video games where soundtracks are from japan are removed or slienced due to copyright.

 

For example, on the re release of sonic cd, they removed the lyrics to the japanese song "Toot Toot Sonic Warrior."

That kinda sucks :/. I hate when companies all of a sudden decide to mass remove stuff from youtube and whatnot. I know its copyright and whatever, but its just annoying to no longer be able to access it all or as easy.

I'd put money down its Fu*&imation at it again tbh.
They did this little over 10 years ago when they started getting big after buying out DBZ.

They sent C&D's to a multitude of web sites, many of which had NOTHING to do with their IP's.

And given Youtube's jumpyness on the subject of C&D's...

 

That or its a troll going around flagging the content. Youtube has a habit of taking any report of the sort as literal and just pulls things regardless of evidence. Including fan works.

I believe i've read of several MLP custom videos (no re-used content) having been pulled before too.

 

I wouldn't call the Japanese companies on it just yet, most of the time they don't know, or just don't care about these things (its advertising for them)

But many western companies.. they see it as damaging to their licenses somehow.

Like how many others have stated already only a few videos featuring certain music got taken down due to copyright. It's weird to me that only a few get taken down because if you search you can get plenty more videos with the same song (when it's not a remix and such). I have no idea what the people on YouTube are doing regarding these things but they are doing a terrible job.
