Wayforward just had a Reddit AMA and they said they want to make a MLP:FIM game. If they made it, would you guys buy it and what kind of game should it be?

I really like the Idea of kid of an mmo rpg, I just want to be able to walk around the FIM areas and enjoying seeing it all (as in the show you barely see anything).

Anyway, I would love it if WayForward developed a MLP game on 3DS or Wii U(Or both).  These are the guys who made Contra cool again(Contra 4).  These are the guys who created Shantae, the Mighty series(Flip Champs, Milky Way and Switch Force).  These are the guys who made the Adventure Time game and who are working on another Adventure Time game and the Regular Show game.  These are the guys who remade Duck Tales for Disney and Capcom.  And ironically, these are the guys who made the last good Aliens game.

 

I'd say bring it.  Hasbro should give the green light to WayForward.  Have the voice cast do their recordings for the game(Tara Strong, Tabitha St Germain, Andrea Libman, Ashleigh Ball, Cathy Weisluck, Nicole Oliver, Kathleen Barr and John De Lancie to name a few), craft up a title worthy of 2D goodness and watch the sales fly.

Whoa, that would be amazing, these guys know 2D animation in games and they would definitely do well on an MLP game, especially an adventure side scroller of some sort. Call these guys Hasbro!

Wayforward are known for making pretty good games like Shantae.

 

Sounds promising, and I'd be down with buying one, as well as seeing if it's great and all.

If it's a game that involves ponies then of course I'll buy it, I would want it to be a RPG but it could also be adventure but RPGs are usually adventure type so that's almost the same. It would be awesome seeing a MLP game, I'll start throwing my money at them as soon as they'll let me know when it would come out.

I haven't played any of their games myself, but from what I hear, they're pretty good. I don't know, I probably would get it eventually, assuming I owned the system it came out for.  My immediate answer would be, "No, absolutely not; I wouldn't be caught dead with it; I already watch the show, isn't that enough?!" but that's also what I said about the MLP comics (own all but the most recent micro-series), the vinyl figurines (own Dash and Derpy, and have plans to obtain the rest), and that cardbox I saw at a local convention with hand-drawn ponies in various Magic: the Gathering outfits (yup).  So based on past experiences, like I said before, I'd probably pick it up eventually.

I'd love to see an MLP game. I don't even know if the Gameloft app is a game or just a stupid but whatever. A PC RPG would be most preferable. I actually see an MLP video game coming into play relatively soon since Hasbro is becoming increasingly aware of how much money they could make off of it.

What I want. an MMORPG.

 

I want to be able to make my own OC. If he is a unicorn, I want to have a variety of magics to start him with. That way no two unicorns will be alike. I want to be able to invest in my telekinesis, and learn TK attacks, do tricks, etc.

 

I want Ponyville to be a free area. a place to interact with ponies. I want to GMs to play the Mane Six and have walk throughs, but I also want the main six in static areas as AIs. The main six can also be found outside of Ponyville giving missions.

 

I want to go to Canterlot. Do various missions, and earn Royal guard armor.

Pegasus need to be able to go to Cloudsdale and earn missions there as well.

 

I want to fight monsters and have events where ALL the ponies can gather to fight Hydras and Ursa Majors.

I want changeling invasions.

 

I want to go to Appeloosa and get in a Barroom Brawls with Diamond Dog Bushwhackers and Renegade Buffalo.

 

I want a train system that connects all of Equestria. I want to go to the Crystal empire and fight the resurgence of Sombra,

 

I want to go all the way to level 50 and then have the option of becoming an alicorn. I won't be able to do much afterwards, but all the other players will think wow, that guy is cool. Then I can start a new character, but bring out my alicorn occasionally to hang with the guys in Ponyville.

 

I want slice of life adventures.

I want to go to the gala and mess with it.

I want kick monster butt adventures.

I want nightmare night events.

I want to date AI ponies on All Hearts day. An AI romance option would be cool and would NOT be able to be reduced to cyber by creeps.

I want a traveling "bad" Trixie side show where she is like 10 levels above everyone else, and kicks the but of uppity players.

I want an arena where it's pony vs pony...but otherwise we are all friends...cause that magic, you know.

I want to register the name Silverhoof now.

 

I want open forums, at the official site while the game is in development. I want to talk to the developers.

I want Tara Strong and the others to voice the game characters.

 

I want the coolest emotes possible! I want RD to put on sunglasses and say, "Deal with it."

When I said AIs, I meant computers. I don't have any problem with love potions that work on players, or the ability to... do romantic things with others, so long as it's left at PG-13.

PG is the only way to go with an MMORPG. and I can see cutting out the romance option altogether. It's not like it is part of the series at all. players would really be there for adventure, not romance.

An MLP MMORPG could bring character customization to a whole other level and would definitely be somewhat more based on the social aspect of things instead of action, i can see events/holidays being given extra attention and the introduction of actual seasons would be fun too. Yeah, the ideal MLP game would have to be online, there's no real other way to capture the magic of the show and let you experience these showlike adventures.

 

But at the moment, that idea is pushing it. I think we'd have to be happy with a decent single player experience as it is. But i have this feeling any kind of game will be severely dumbed down and/or revolve around completing minigames ... Not the kind we have in mind at all. I'm hoping for Legends of Equestria to fill in the void.

 

Also, an Elder Scrolls style game would work too, if it would have to be singleplayer.
