Crystal Empire part 2 and Sleepless in Ponyville related?

So I watched both of these episodes one night and I noticed some sort of connection between the two. When you first look at Sleepless in Ponyville, Luna tells Scootaloo this..."Everypony has fears, Scootaloo. Everypony must face them in their own way, but they must be faced or the nightmares will continue." Ever really think about that? And then when you look at Crystal Empire 2, Twilight and Spike look through the "Sombra wall" and see their worst fear. Ever think how these two episodes are somehow connected? I think it was a forshadow of a future episode, we just didn't know it yet. Also, it kind of gave me an idea for a new fanfic (yes, I write those...sometimes.) Tell me what you guys think.

I don't think there connected as Twilight is already aware of facing her fears, even if some of her fears are silly (like being tardy). Scoots is still a filly that had yet to learn this lesson.

 

Spikes fear on the other hand, that might be touched on maybe in an episode that explains how his egg came into possession of the Unicorn School. Spike can't go back to where he comes from so twilight leaving him is total abandonment.

 

On that subject. anyone notice on winter wrap up when spike wakes up and says "Mommy? You're not Mommy..." to twilight as odd? She hatched his egg and was probably the first thing he saw.. That would make her the close enough right? Or does spike have genetic memory of his real mother?

Both of the episodes must be related to each other because, of the subject that both of them solely focus on fears. Since, fears are both present in the Crystal Empire and Sleepless in Ponyville.

My theory is that when Luna and Celestia first came into the empire when sombra took over they tried to reason with him but he ended up kicknapping Luna Ganondorf style. And Celestia had to save her, and when Luna was in Sombras prison he used expirements on her with his dark magic and showed her a alter universe that shows her that everyone is making fun of her night, althought in the end Tia saves Luna and they somehow defeat Sombra(although fail to save the empire). But what Luna saw ended up slowly turning her into NMM

Regardless if the connection is intentional or not (I think it's just a coincidence) a fanfic about this could make for an interesting read I think . And if it really is build up to something in the show it is well done but it is also very much in the shadows, so unless they add to it a lot in season 4 (and make it more obvious) I don't think the connection is on purpose.

I doubt that this would have any connection whatsoever, but I'm sure that the fandom can patch up some loose ends. There could be a really nice fanfiction about this topic.
