Rakon walked closer to the group.  "Is there where I'm supposed to meet at? " He asked once he thought he was within a distance where the others could hear his voice, speaking at a normal conversation level.  "My mother suggested I come here since she mentioned she'd be to big to just walk into the city." He said in a half joking manner.  Though his mother had been joking as well, mentioning to him imagine the commotion if she were to just walk into a pony city, considering how large she was.

Midnight sighed when he overheard the one ponies rather arrogant remark. He had the urge to mention that he spent a good two years of his life wandering the lands outside Equestria, one of which he spent in the frozen north, but seeing as he was wearing his old royal armor that was decorated with obsidian and gold but no less effective than any other armor set he figured that it would draw too much attention to himself. However keeping a low profile in this group was looking to be fairly simple, what with a guard pony, an arrogant pony, and a dragon, Midnight figured there are more interesting ponies in their group than the finely armored unicorn and his pegasus friend. He just hoped this group of assorted ponies..., and a dragon, could work together long enough to do what they were called here to do. "Well if you're here to join our little expedition, then I guess so, sir dragon." Midnight said to the dragon, thankful that the mother had not come.

Blizzard could already tell he wasn't going to like this arrogant pony. She was too full of herself for her own good, and he hoped that she wasn't seriously going to stay with them for this expedition. "Oh yes, because we'd all be sooo helpless without you." Blizzard said sarcastically. If this pony was going to be part of this team, or as close to a team as they could be considered, then he sure hoped she got a reality check on her attitude. He was so wrapped up in his distaste for the arrogant pony that he barely reacted to seeing that a dragon had apparently also been enlisted in their group for this mission.

When he got the letter to join a group on some mission or adventure, he packed his bags right away, this might be his ticket out of her.He heard about the captain from his pirate days and it intrigued him when he got the letter. After he stopped off to get some whiskey and meat. He headed toward the statue of that famous  unicorn  and light a

When he got there he sees a good deal already made it. He shrugs and lights a cigarette with his copper color lighter. He takes a drag and mat his way to the crimson maned stallion who look like he was charge. @,  "You Redwave?" He looks at the bottle of brandy hanging on his side and points to it. Silver Heart trotted down the myriad streets of Canterlot towards the statue of Star Swirl the Bearded. She took a moment to catch her breath and gain her bearings. Normally crossing the city wouldn't be such a problem however she had to carry both her lancet case and a bandage and herb case. After taking a few moments to gain a second wind Silver Heart took off towards the statue.

After a few more minutes Star Swirl's statue came into view. Silver Heart slowed down to a walking pace and started walking towards the largest group of ponies near the statue. After taking a deep breath to try and control her breathing she spoke up, "Um..hello, are all of you here for the expedition? I'm the replacement for my mother, Autumn Breeze."

"We'll look at this, the Bard did it! Quite a company we have here... One at a time, if you please, there is only one of me!" Declared Red, leaning back and glancing around, flicking a hoof to catch an apple on the point of his cutlass. "Can whoever threw that please refrain from doing so again? We have issue enough without having need to remove your limbs!"

Kingfisher turned her attention to the pony addressing her.

"Come with me." She said before rolling her eyes - this was taking too long.

"Everypony listen up!" She yelled. "If ya' here to find Redwave, he's the fool over here with red waves on his flank, get it?"

That should work, she thought.

"Now settle down 'n' let him speak!"

Aphelion went to Canterlot and was going to the bookstore or at least the observatory. He never really liked Canterlot too....rich for his tastes.

"Let see here", he said to himself,"Bookstore or Observatory?"

He then saw a group of ponies over by a statue and joined in the group to see what was going down

How many ponies could we possibly have in this group? Just a few of us alone... Minus the annoyance, would've been fine. Sand thought as more ponies came in. And do we really need a dragon? They're almost just as annoying as the other one... She thought. She had never liked dragons at all, although nobody knew why.

Blast nodded. "Thanks. Much appreciated." Blast made his way to red waves, where he found Redwave. "Thanks for almost leaving without me. Now, let's get to-." He stopped in mid-sentence upon noticing how large the team was. He was sure it consisted of almost about a dozen other ponies. "Geez, man. You think you have enough for this mission? This one must be pretty important if we need this much backup." He said.

Red smirked: dropped the bottle to the pony whom had asked and used the cutlass as leverage to climb the statue he had been resting against: making himself a podium out of the stone unicorns back.

"Let us be brief!" He said loudly. "I am Redwave. Shortly, I will be departing - with any of you who has nerve enough - to find and secure potentially the most dangerous artefact known to be in existence: The Litany of Magic." He smirked. "The Litany is, to the the best of my considerable knowledge, the last of its kind: a script with quite incredible power over any who would read from it."

Circling around to the base of the statue, Kingfisher picked up dutifully where he left off.

"Every word increases a ponies natural talent."

Red nodded.

"Quite. Another has already located and read from it once: our quest is to secure it before he can do so again. Is this clear?"

Pavisa snapped her attention back to Redwave as he began to speak, putting her rag away and standing upright. She listened intently to the description of the Litany, gritting her teeth. So it was more than she'd thought... At his final question, she stepped forward a few steps.

"Just one question... Captain. When do we leave?"

She smiled from beneath her helm. Her secret was out now, but it wouldn't have lasted anyways if they were going to be working together.

@@,

Aero blinked in surprise at the guard pony who seemed very blunt with her approach. His voice was calm like the waves within the sea as he asserted the ambitious Pavisa, "Patience is a virtue among those who have little." Aero motioned with his eyes towards the others. It was a surprise he hadn't seen her earlier but he didn't take much interest in the others...minus the dragon...it was extremely rare to find such a creature around but perhaps the one who sent the invitations knew of its use. The group appeared very ragtag and somewhat arrogant for the most part but the pegasus believed they would all prove their worthiness soon enough. None of this mattered much to Aero but he figured the others would speak for him in their questions; however, he too preferred to get the journey underway in regard to the possible moons they might see before its fulfillment. The mission sounded acceptable: retrieving an artifact.

Gloomfury smirks and picks up the bottle of brandy, he takes a good gulp of it and lets out satisfied sigh. He looks back up to Redwave and listen to what he had to say. 'Dangerous artefact hu?' Gloom thought as he took another drink.  'Getting out of this crap city and going on an adventureSounds like I made the right choice of coming.'  He walks up to the statue where Redwave was standing and hold the bottle up to him . @, "I'm with ya Cap." "Hah! you even got yourself a dragon too yeah? this must be a very dangerous mission then, what have you gotten yourself into!" Chivalry was having a little fun until something caught his eye.

"So we find it and throw it into some lava, a volcano or something.  That should keep it from being misused." Rakon said.  He looked at all the others who had arrived.  It looked like quite a few ponies had arrived.  He wondered, not for the first time, why they had asked for a dragon also.  But he mentally shrugged, maybe they wanted someone who could breath fire or something.

Ponies seemed to be taking a lot of notice to the dragon, so Sand decided to stay away from him for awhile. Until then, she would just stick with the group and help when she was necessary. I'll let them figure out most of their problems on their own, and if I'm needed, I'll just step in and help. She thought.

Blast always hated being around bigger dragons. Baby dragons seemed harmless to him, but bigger ones like the on that was called in to help out the group made him feel uncomfortable. He tried to keep his distance from him as he continued on. He thought that he might as well get to know the captain of this little escapade first, so he dashed up to his side.

@,

"So, what? We gotta find this ancient scroll and read from it? And once we do, the reader's natural abilities will be increased?" He asked. "Heh. No problem. This should be a breeze!" He said in a cocky tone of voice.

"Don't be stupid." Gunted Kingfisher, aiming a slap to the back of Blast's head as Red chuckled and shook his head.

"Did you mishear the part involving words to the effect of 'Incredibly dangerous'?" Redwave smirked before dropping his voice to an ominous hiss. "To read the litany is to force your body and mind to warp: to absorb more information and power that you could hope to achieve in a years training with each word! It would send you quite mad... if you were fortunate."

Blast let out a slight "heh" "Dude, 'incredibly dangerous' is my middle name. I've battled all kinds of magical entities in my time here. Dark lords, alicorns, you name it." He said with a cocky smirk. "If these words are as dangerous as you make them out to be, though, we might have a serious problem on our hooves once we eventually get to it." He speculated, beginning to get serious for a moment. "Once this story on this paper is concluded, it could release a powerful entity more horrifying and deadly that we can imagine. Just a thought."

Me? Get driven to madness? Never. Sand thought. She was almost certain that she wouldn't go mad because of one little scroll. It was just information, it couldn't push her far enough to go mad. It would take something much worse to make her go mad. Might as well try it though, just to prove them wrong. She thought.

Starting to make his way towards the city gates, Redwave waved the group among before unrolling the map provided with the letter.

"This, as you may well know, is mainland Equestria." He tapped a hoof on the center. "Here we are, Canterlot." Tracing a short route to the northeast, he directed her attention to a circled landmark. "Neighagra Falls. Supposedly, the Litany should be located in a ruin near there."

Heres the map I use for refrence, if anyone is curious.

"So we're not just going after some magic book, we're going after the Litany of Magic, the real Litany of Magic! I've studied all sorts of magic, but the Litany has always been unreachable and far too dangerous. This may be the single greatest expedition of my life, so I say let's get going." Midnight said eagerly, too excited about the Litany to bother about being noticed as he adjusted one of his armor straps to tighten it. Midnight Sky had a suspicion that maybe his reason for being chosen for this large team was due to his large repository of magical lore, and since the Litany was the pinnacle of magic lore his knowledge and magical talent could come in useful. 'I just hope we don't have too many problems along the way, who knows what kind of damage this mystery pony could cause if he read a whole half of a Litany scroll if we're delayed.' Midnight thought.

"Uh-huh, sure." Blizzard mumbled after the arrogant pony's remark to him. "I agree with Midnight, let's not waste time. We know where we're going so I say let's get going already!" Blizzard said after Red showed them where their destination was. Blizzard was personally eager to get going, it had been far too long since the last time he had traveled further than the Everfree Forest. Although it was something of a drawback to be traveling with such a large group, since large groups move slowly. Blizzard was however, content to stay with the group to make sure Midnight didn't have any problems with these other ponies, nopony will ever say that Blizzard Blitz left a friend to fend for themselves.
