Do You Have any Odd Behaviours that People Dismiss as You just being You?

In person I am a very excited, bubbly person and I always chatter away a lot. I often act really weird, like bursting into song or saying things that  don't make sense. Honestly I think it's a coping mechanism. I'm a very introverted person yet around my friends I'm not. So it's something that nobody really takes notice of, they don't really notice how it's strange for an introvert to act like that.

When I go into deep thought (IE a hard problem in Engineering class) I start to think out loud and very quickly, almost like in a trance xD

Everyone will either ignore it, or listen for an answer.

Eh, nobody outright has said that really, so i can't say for sure.

But i guess maybe the occasional awkwardness i create in conversations due to my kinda lacking social skills could sometimes be considered it? Only like 1 person has really.

idk otherwise.

Let's see... Everything. I am a strange individual. Perhaps I should get into more of the specifics.

You know how dogs sometimes burrow into your bed with their heads to get comfortable? I do that. A lot. I also purr when I'm really comfortable, especially when I'm warm. Other odd things that I do include climbing everything I deem interesting enough to climb, crouching, or laying, on the ground instead of sitting, and people are often yelling at me to "get that out of your mouth." I'm a very tactile person, or so I'm told. I also sit in a very odd fashion. I sit very leisurely with one arm hanging over my head and reaching to the other side, and sometimes I sit completely upside down. It's kinda sorta like I've either forgotten that I'm amongst humans or I just don't care what people think about me. It's, most likely, the latter. A few days ago when I was at the library, a woman, probably in her mid thirties, asked me why I don't act proper. I told her that I can act proper, but that's just the problem: telling me to act is telling me to not be myself, and I rather like myself.

Well, here are some:

  • I seem to twirl my hair a lot when stressed
  • I have to have music playing a good part of my day
  • I tend to over-organize things to the point where I would lose sleep just to make something perfect.
  • I have a bad habit of obsessing over a certain fictional character only to find another fictional guy to obsess over around a month later.
  • My room must be covered in posters.
  • I dress in black clothing a good majority of the time.

There might be some other things but those are what come to mind.

Talking in monotone and always seeming like I'm upset when I'm not. Also I take things literally all of the time and don't stand up for myself. Just acting like a complete tool and doormat I suppose, is just me being me.

Even though no one tells me about my flaws I'm aware of them. Then again, if nobody feels the urge to point them out, why should I change that part of me?

I'd say the behaviour that bugs people around me the most is my exessive usage of sarcasm. I just can't stop it...well, actually I could, but...I'm just not doing it.

Oh good lord. So many quirks. I am quite an odd individual. For starters, one of the most obvious is that I tend to take on the verbisms of whatever media is most influential in my life. As of right now, that's MLP, so I usually end up saying -pony instead of -body in everyday speech, and I reference quotes a lot such as "so AWESOME."

I also tend to swear by many fictional characters. Most commonly, I say "Oh my Guthix" instead of "Oh my God." "Good Guthix," "Great StarClan,"  and "Mata Nui" are the expressions of awe which I use most often. I tend to avoid cursing so I say "biscuit" instead of "b***h," and I swear "Ruddy freaking biscuits," instead of other things. I have numerous odd sayings such as those.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. I have a habit of thinking allowed as opposed to in my head, because for some reason my thoughts just flow better that way.

Occasionally, if I get involved in a deep philosophical discussion, my register can actual switch to something far more elegant and proper without me even noticing, sometimes even taking on a slight British accent.

In the winter, I wear pajama pants underneath my regular pants if its cold out. Generally,  <40 = pajama pants.

I am open about bronyhood, and I've gotten both stares and compliments about me wearing my Derpy Hooves hat.

And so so many other things besides these. These are just the ones that come to mind presently. I'm weird, but I love me for being me.

I use a lot of illogical analogies, comebacks, and remarks. As in, they make absolutely no sense whatsoever. People nowadays just attribute that to my insanity. laugh.png

I also have an odd habit of calling people "kid." Even when they're clearly older than me, such as my father. But, it's my thing, so people don't question it.

Indeed.

There's a few that I can think of.  I'll often say "Thankee sai" instead of "Thank you" mostly because I adore The Dark Tower series and sort of picked up the phrase from there.  I also have the tendency to over-think things to an absurd degree, particularly in problem-solving situations.

The one that people tend to notice the most is, ironically, that I don't like to be noticed.  There were a number of people in high school who claimed that I was a ninja because I had a tendency to accidentally sneak up on them.  I didn't really mean to, I just didn't really have the desire to bother anybody, so I would just slide into place next to or nearby them.  I could be standing next to one of my friends for several seconds before they finally noticed I was there.  Some of them also claimed that I was a jedi master, but I think that that was more because I don't often smile or show any sort of emotion (which is apparently a quality of a jedi master?).
