Okay how come no one ever suggests flutter shy isn't a orphan?

It kinda just hit me

we never see apple jacks parents (and seeing as how she lives with her grand ma that's a fair conclusion their dead),

 

we never see scoots family, making some people assume she's a street urchin.

 

what about flutter shy?
I mean besides not seeing her parents,

her personality might hide some deep trauma from some terrible incident.

She lives at the edge of town,

her animals skills might been partially survival.

 

 

Yeah they didn't need flutter shy's parents,

i mean on one hand we don't need a scene with 3 people whispering back and forth,

on the other

what if flutter shy's parents were loud and boisterous?
what if they were wonder bolts who didn't approve of her living on land.

Can't really assume that Fluttershy is an orphan, without evidence. She probably has parents, but we just never seen them. Scootaloo might not have a family but, let's not assume that she's an orphan herself.

In Cutie Mark Chronicles, Fluttershy says that she'd never been on the ground til Rainbow Dash knocked her off her cloud during the race. That was where she discovered her affinity for animals, so I doubt it would have anything to do with survival.

It's likely because Applejack's parents and/or their fate has been mentioned many times by the show's staff and fans have been feverishly running with it ever since, whereas Fluttershy's family hasn't even been mentioned(as well as RD's(At the time) and Scoot's)

 

I think the only reason Scoot's parents gets mentioned a lot by the fandom is because she's only a filly and has no relation to the mane 6 by blood as opposed to Applebloom(the Apple Family) and Sweetie Belle(Rarity), and never seeing her parents around makes a lot of people wary

And i'd still make it was a survival moment.

Look at twilight sparkle in that same episode.

Lauren Faust said multiple times that she wanted AJ's parents to be dead, but hasn't confirmed it within the show because Hasbro thought it'd be too depressing. It was semi-confirmed in AFR by Sisby who said that the shooting stars were supposed to represent her parents

Maybe. But we do know she has a sister. Idk where it was, but I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that we would see Fluttershy's family in S4. As for Scoots, nothing was said about her parents. I'm pretty sure that was Pinkie's family they confirmed, I haven't heard anything about Flutter's family

I don't think we can accurately state what Lauren Faust's intentions were. We don't have the story bible. For all we know, she could've originally intended for a whole story arc on the subject of how her parents' death affected AJ's character. We can't make a judgement on how necessary or unnecessary a decision was unless we know what Lauren Faust originally intended. From what I read, it seems like she just felt that it would be artistically constructive to have AJ live in a tight family, but without her parents. And it worked well, didn't it?

 

As for Big Mac and Granny Smith being extendable, I disagree. I think that the extended family type of deal fits very well with the image the Apple Family strives for- family is important; the whole family is important.

Nah I don't think she is at all. I just think that for ponies it might be more normal to leave your parents to live in a little place like ponyville. If you ask me, she just moved to ponyville or something like that.

I have heard people say that Fluttershy might be an orphan, but I don't believe it. Remember in Magical Mystery Cure, Fluttershy said, She was going home. So that already implies that her parents are alive.

Fluttershy may actually have parents, but like Applejack's they may have been deceased prior to the the present time that we're introduced to the series. That's my two bits anyway.
