Yes, I was trying to be sarcastic. I totally stand behind our new perky gold god supreme commanders. :P

This scepter thing is the most asinine garbage ever produced by this fandom. It's exactly the sort of thing people hate about us.

All fandoms make memes at one point or another, some are good and some are bad. Those who hate the bronies for this reason do not really have reason to direct dislike only at us. Though this is your opinion, some may agree and some may disagree. I for one disagree, as I have no problem at all with this meme.

The sceptre was hilarious. Seeing selfless Twilight holding a little icon of herself was just plain funny. Clever, humorous small details are often the impetus of memes.

I was amazed on how it went viral. Out of everything in the episode I never would suspected it... but then they went gaga for gak... and that was just a commercial.

I figure it will die as quickly as it started

I'd like to point out the difference between "gak-creaze" and current one.

My understanding is, gak was a product for sale, that had nothing to do with MLP. It wasn't even merchandise. That means, by spreading gak-related content across the internet fandom conducted - unintentially or otherwise - a viral marketing campagne for that product.

Scepter, on the other hoof, has no commercial impact (yet).

It's like Gak, but not quite as stupid. Since, ya know, it's actually a meme taken from the show, not some retarded toy commercial </3

Also moving to Sugarcube. Though the staff came from the show, its' the fanbase that took it and ran with it, and this topic is talking about that popularity in the fandom.

I agree with what is said here:

I think it is an abomination on society and should be obliterated. Don't you just hate it when you see random gold scepters with insane smiles popping up randomly? It's just plain stupid. Give me a break. I mean, COME ON.

Why do you think it's awful?

I don't know. The commertial is stupid and repulsive and it has nothing to do with MLP.

I'll tell you a joke (it's a translation).

Two cowboys (Billy and Garry) ride along the road and talk about money.

- For enough money I do anything! - Billy says.

- like what? Say, would you est shit if you ger a million for that?

- You bet!

- Proove it!

Garry sees first best horseapple, gets of a horse and eats it - See? And you, Billy. What can you do for money?

- Me? More than anything!

- Could you eat shit for a million?

- You bet! - Billy says and prroves it the same way.

They ride some more in silence, then Garry says:

- Billy, have you got a millino?

- No, Garry, I haven't.

- Me neither.

- What do you get at, Garry?

- It looks like we just ate shit for nothing, Billy.

See my point?

Uh... honestly, I'm as clueless as you, OP. I didn't even know that the scepter existed until I saw it was some sort of strange internet meme. And I had NO idea why. Even as Klopp tries to explain it to me, it falls flat. He tells me, he says: "It's a pony head on the stick. Of course the peoples of the internet are going to eat it up. They like crazy, out of context things like that." And I'm just like... what? I don't get it anyway. O_o

I will never understand all this strange memeish humor that derives from the internet.
