Should Spike still stay with Twilight?

I would like for him to stick around, even if he gets a place of his own in Ponyville.  Besides, the story shouldn't just focus on the Mane 6.

Personally I think he should stay with Twilight in the bond they have, but I think that he should go from Twilight's Jimminy Cricket to Starlight's before he becomes a background character.

Bodyguard for what?! This isn't real life, there plenty of better things to do, him(while still keeping in touch with her and still visiting) must leave the nest and be his own man, not now obviously, but when he gets older, yes.

Thank you! It makes no sense for a giant behemoth(he will become one, as proven with Molt Down) to be in a tiny town. Sure he should vist them, but you got to leave the nest, he's still a kid, so not yet, but after a few more molts, yes.

He should never leave her, the two have established a close bond and are like siblings.

He should have left in Season 1. He was treated like dirt by Twilight Sparkle, a joke. He was capable of taking care of Twilight, so he would be capable to taking care of himself. This of course changed later, where he became weak, making mistakes all the time, and then needed to be baby-sit all the time.

Yes. Spike is a wonderful companion to have. I can't imagine the Crystal Empire's fate and the Mane Six without him.

Great idea! Spike leaving Ponyville could have given us time to learn more about the dragon culture, too.

At least originally, there would be no hurry for Spike to leave - Dragons are VERY long lived, to the point a century of sleep is a "nap" to a fully mature dragon. It wouldn't be impossible (or even unlikely) that Spike is still alive in G5.

How long an alicorn can live is of course a different question, but given Twi is apparently not going to be seen in G5, you can presume if Spike IS still around he was with Twi his entire life up until whatever happened to her happened.

Yes, Spike got nerfed a few times for plot convenience, but he IS young even by the standards of the mane 6, and I would imagine by dragon standards, even taking a couple of hundred years to reach emotional maturity isn't going to be a big deal.  Once you get past S4 anyhow, there is an entire castle for Spike to have his own room in - just as there is no reason why Starlight would need to move away (even if she enters into a relationship) there is no reason why Spike would have to either.
