Do people dislike/hate you because you're a brony?

When I was in high school, I didn't catch any flak for it.

Then again, I had a tendency to beat the everlasting shit out of anyone who talked shit to me, so that might have played a part in my lack of bullying.

A lot of people ask me.. am I afraid of death? Hell yeah I'm afraid of death. I don't want to die yet.
A lot of people think.. that I worship the devil.. that I do all types of.. retarded shit.
Look, I can't change the way I think and I can't change the way I am
But if I offended you? Good. Cause I still don't give a fuck

Some of my friends tease me about it and people at school give me weird looks, but being open to it actually helped me discover all the other bronies at my school and they're the best friends I've had in a while, so it's well worth it  :)

I have a friend that dislikes me a little for it. (When will he ever learn?)

But everyone at my school acts like I'm kindve weird and I end up sitting at the only table reserved for nerds, and most of them blend fandoms, like I'm also a Whovian, for example as well as a gamer, like most of the table. Some anime freaks, and some people who are even bizarre to me.

People tease about it though, but moreso about other things like being bisexual (they don't know I'm pancurious) and for the fact I'm an atheist at a prodominantly Catholic or Baptist school.

At my school there are 6 bronies. Half and half gender ratio, the bronies are mostly in my grade (sophomore), and there is also a brony in the eighth grade (he is kinda closeted though) and two seniors (one of them is in a way not really a brony in a lot of ways, though)

I've talked to friends about the show and I get all the same response "The show for little girls and anyone older who watches it is a creep" so I keep it to myself. Though they are good friends and if I told about my liking for the show we'd all still be friends, but I'd get a bad rep around school and I'd rather not.

I know my Dad judges me for it, probably my mom too. Honestly though, even they have been pretty accepting. Everyone has that knows.

I personally find it really...odd that boys like it or ever people my age! I don't even really enjoy the show so much as love the concept of it and I do find it funny. Now don't think I am downing anyone! After all I am a member of a mlp dedicated sight after all so I have no room to dis anyone and almost all of my friends are bronies to some extent.

Guys getting drinks in a line at a Renaissance fair last year are the only guys who have ever expressed much hatred in front of me. Indirectly though. They didn't say anything directly to me. I only heard them mutter something about us all being gay while looking at a group off to the side.

As someone who hasn't gone out of his way to hide it, I'd say only a single, non-confrontational incident is pretty good.

Living in small rural Nebraska, I would get a lot of crap for being a brony, so I just don't tell people...I know it sounds maybe a little cowardly, but some people over here can be SO close minded!

In my school, not really now, used to.

Things sort of changed after I made that speech about ponies in school... (yes, I can go that far for ponies, even if it means committing political suicide)

Some people in my school still hate me for liking pony stuff but they can't really screw around with that, mainly because I can defeat them both verbally (with logic), and perhaps physically if they try...(they never did though, good news)

Well the big good news is after that speech virtually half of my class became bronies/pegasisters XD, or atleast stopped mindlessly hating (turning into dislikers, or neutral)

I'm not sure, but personally I don't give a hoof if they have a problem with me being a brony, it's my life not theirs. Where's the fun if you let others opinions discourage you from having a hobby/interest that's important to you. It's pretty funny cause my best friend didn't really understand all the hype, but then she watched EG this past week and thought it was an awesome movie. Now if I could just get her to watch the main show  :fiery:

Not many people I know in real life know I'm a brony to begin with. I only tell my absolute closest friends about it because I don't want many people to know. My roommate is another person that knows but he's also been my best friend since high school so I knew he wouldn't care. But, considering most of the general population, I'm very withdrawn about being a brony because I'm afraid of the possible teasing it would bring. Not that it's super prevalent in college. In college, people tend to just mind their own business and not start crap since we're all adults here, but still. I feel like I'm already weird enough without the whole world knowing I'm a brony.

I tend to hide it and so does my friend. I once mentioned it in front of another person and they gave me a look and said "Right......."

I think people can by now tell bronies and pegasisters are big.

So why don't they get their heads out of their butts and get used to it?

eh. my cousins tease me about it more then they do anything else but im used to it. i asked my friends if they liked it and they looked at me funny so i dont say anything about it to them. so in short people don't hate me for it but they don't like it. i'm the only pegasister i know in the real world. and i don't know any bronies in the real world. exept i know this one girl who likes it but shes not a pegasister.

A few people have teased me for it, but only once have I ever physically encountered a true hater. He said anyone who liked the show was destined to grow up a pedophile and said narrow-minded things like that. But, of course, when I brought up people like Gabe Newell and Andrew W.K. being bronies, he said they "redeemed" themselves, so clearly, he wasn't worth taking seriously in the first place.

Overall, I live in a pretty accepting community of people, surprisingly.

Well, some of them tease, but in the long run they really don't care about it too much. I have had one friend not judge me at all, he said it's just a show I watch, and nothing's wrong with that, he just doesn't watch it.

I'm a 41 year old overweight, balding, nearsighted man with a devastating right hook who fights dirty (eyes, kicking the dick).

I make no secret of my liking of MLP, and Cheerilee, and no one gives me flak about it.

Mainly because they know what will happen to them if they do, long hospital stay.
