Absolutely loved this episode!

I found Rainbow Dash's part in the episode interesting, the early part being completely 'herp-a-derp' was kinda funny, but I'm glad that with a little help from her friends, they're were able to pull it back from complete disaster, and the more confident Dashie at the end is what we are used to seeing, good ol' fashion 20% cooler rainbow dash!

Glad to see that the show is not turning into a Simpsons type deal, and that there are more ideas coming from the hasbro team!

Keep up the good work guys!

I said this to Episode 3 of Season 4, but this is now my new favorite episode.

 

I love how the episode is centered on Rainbow Dash and Daring, which is an awesome combo!

I have only one thing to say about this episode:

 

"My mind is officially BLOWN!" -Twilight Sparkle

 

 

Okay, maybe more than one thing but I had to quote that part. XD

I seriously can't believe how AWESOME it was!! When they found out Daring Do was actually a real character, I was like "HOLY SHIT WAT!!"

And I loved all the fangirling! Rainbow was a fangirling, Twilight was fangirling, and I was fangirling! XD

But yeah, I really enjoyed it. Daring Do was amazing, and I loved Rainbow's character development. It was the first time we've actually seen a lack of confidence from her. (apart from in Sonic Rainboom) I thought it was really sweet :3 But seriously though, fangirl Dashie was SO ADORABLE.

Ooh I loved this episode! Probably because Dashie was the main character but I loved Daring Do too! I can't decide whether I liked it more than Castle Mane-ia or not... But this episode's plot was good and very satisfying AND adorable at the end.

 

I think Ashleigh's voice must have died after that episode, hehe.

 

In all seriousness, I would have said that Dashie was out of character, but we did see the weaker side of her again. What an silly filly she was! When she slapped herself and was crawling (didn't know that was even possible!) and begging, I found myself smiling. Lots of other moments made me giggle, too:

I did like Daring Do's character, all in all. It is understandable that she would not trust anypony, and well, wouldn't you feel sorry for her having Rainbow Dash clinging onto her all the time?!

 

What I liked most about the episode was how relatable it actually was to fandoms on the internet today. To US. What Dashie did, it's exactly the same as my sister, cousin and I would do waiting for the new episode of FiM, and it was just so adorable seeing Dashie totally wrapped up in nothing else but adoring Daring Do.

 

One thing I am not looking forward to is the... Ehem, shipping. Dear Lord, writers, just, why?

 

Also. I totally LOVE that Rainbow Dash was featured in Daring's new book. Such a nice touch at the end. I sure would love it if that happened to me ^.^

I found it ironic how Twilight kept telling Dash to respect A.K Yearlings privacy, when Twilight didn't respect Celestia or Luna's privacy in the last episode. xD

They reduced Daring Do to a self-inserted fanfiction writer. Not to mention the Mane Six were all out of character especially Twilight. I'm going to pretend this episode never happened.

This episode was good, some things i didn't like, ex. how the mane 6 were out of character when daring do needed help fighting off those guys. 

Some say rainbow dash wasn't in character because of how she acted when with daring do but people forget that most anyone would act that way if they saw their favorite character pretty much come alive and real.

There was some adorable moments with Rainbow Dash which i liked. I hope to see more adventures of Daring Do for who knows her next book might include raindow dash again.

So I finally got around to watching the episode and I'm not sure if I over-hyped myself up too much or if the episode was just a little average but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
 
I felt the pacing of the story was too fast and that it didn't allow enough time for Dash and Daring to develop a decent relationship. Particularly the scene where Dash gave up on Daring and refused to help even after the other ponies tried to persuade her, yet she came to Daring's rescue immediately afterwards. It feels like someone forgot to write a scene in between those two parts where Dash comes to terms that she's just as good as anyone else and doesn't need to feel that she's in second place. But apart from that and a few other things I did still enjoy the episode. I would have liked daring to have a sort of "Zacora" presence after the episode but that's probably asking a little too much haha. I had a lot more I wanted to say about the episode but I'll sum it up because no one's going to read this anyway.

 

Watching Dash be so absorbed in somepony other than herself was funny. 

 

 This was a nice finish to the episode as well. 

 

 

Also, why didn't Daring just smash the ring of Scorchairo she had in the first place? Then Ahuizotl couldn't have used it to finish the dark tower and bring upon the eight centuries of unrelenting heat. Silly Daring.

Celestia bless me, I just got back from Youtube..and the HATE for this episode is making me SICK! I had to run!

 

Folks like Digibrony are really turning into jerks with this new season. He flat out insults his subcribers by saying things like "despite what the first 20 comments of my video will say, i wont just -accept it- " towards the state of the episode.

 

I am no RD fan, as you all know, she is annoying and way to self involved for my tastes. (HOWEVER, i will say she IS growing up a bit since season 1) No hate towards her, she is vital to the show and come on, AJ needs her around, the two are a cute couple. But this episode is soooo a shout out to her character growth.

 

Think about it for just a second. RD before reading her first Daring Doo was one note, self absorbed and an arrogant well...bitch. Finding a new interest outside Flying was perfect for her. Her very nature is to get way to involved and fan-girl about things, look at her with the Wonderbolts.

 

Now while she has no desire to be a great writer like she does a flyer for the WBs, she is still fan girling pretty hard. So having Ddoo be real was PERFECT. We get an episode of Dash just start struck and pretty much weak kneed i mean come on she asks stupid questions like "should i throw you your hat?".

 

I get what the writer was going for, perfectly. The whole core of this show was to show someone having a dream come true and how they would react. And then when the stars and glitz wore off remember who they are and coming thru in the end for your friends!! Plus we get more Journal time! Sticking witht he new theme is vital to me and I love to see it, even if it was like 3 seconds of the episode.

 

Sure my girl Ra-ra didnt get much screen time...or any, but Rarity will shine on later epis im sure. This episode isnt a 10/10 for me, but it damn well is a 8.5! And thats from somepony who isnt in love with the resident tomboy.

 

Love it, hate it, whatever...just dont go to youtube and search for Reviewers they are up in arms over the most stupid things. And are totally missing the point how much Dash has grown. Its like all they care about now is "how deep" everything needs to be...for Celestia's sake, REALLY? Can't an episode with some character growth, sticking with the seasons theme, and GREAT animations with some funny moments just be..oh i dont know, a normal mlp episode?

This may not be a legitimate complaint, but I feel that she is "stealing the Mane Six's thunder" in this episode, AND because it seems that her adventures really happened AND because (this was my own misconception about the character based on her previous appearance) that she should be some sort of treasure hunter that doesn't necessarily gets involved in the "saving the world business".

TL;DR: Black Hole Sue.

 

Not to mention that I feel that this episode looks like a self-insert fanfiction by Rainbow. Adventure style episodes in this show, I feel, are better written.
