Gif. Someone should make a map showing how people from different areas of the world pronounce it. Wonder if it would be like soda vs coke vs pop where certain regions are more likely to pronounce it jif instead of gif.

It only makes sense because it's the same Soft G as "generated" which is basically what it is, a generated image file, so you pronounce "gif" with the same dialect as "generated".
