Moving to a New Place in 2017

I know this isn't important, but I decide to make up early plans to move to another place from Puerto Rico (I like it there, but Europe (such as Germany, UK, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium and Finland), along with Canada, has gotten more interest for me) by three years, just to start a new life. And no, my parents were never in any feuds with me or each other and they love me the most, and are willing to back me up, even if they can't come with me, although I'll visit back to PR on a daily basis whenever I can.

 

Now, I know what you're thinking; "why Europe and Canada and why not the US also?" While the US is pretty cool, most likely because my relatives reside in different states, they greatly vary (aside from Baltimore, home of the BronyCon); many people are friendly yes, but when it comes to many other different areas, there are many who are not and they would pose a threat to safety often times.

 

With that said, I'll see if I can finalize the results in a few days, give or take, depending on the votes.

 

On a side note; I chose Toronto and Frankfurt because my local airport has those destinations available, even though they're few and far between... better than nothing, I suppose.

Come to Canada. It's actually one of the best contries to live in. Free healthcare, bunch of nice things... great living standarts! But you will need to get prepared to these winters.

 

As I heard, living in the UK is not really great. Dunno about it though, but I know a lot of people who want to et out of here.

Go to Finland!  I already dream of living there!  They have the best education in the world if you wish to have kids.  Helskinki is a really beautiful city.  (Also, Canada is not as good as it seems, I'm serious :\)

That's pretty cool.  If you have the opportunity to move to a completely different region for the experience of it, go for it!  Are you looking to move semi-permanently?

 

If so, the only practical consideration I can bring up for now: do you speak German (Germany, Austria, Belgium), Finnish, Flemish (Belgium),  French (also Belgium) or Dutch (Netherlands)?  Most Western European nations have a pretty high percentage of English speakers, but visiting and especially living in another country is a whole lot more rewarding if you speak the language comfortably.  If so, you'll have a lot of fun.  If not, you have a couple years to pick one or two and make a lot of progress.

Semi-permanently, yes, since I'll remain a Rican at heart, even seeing it from time to time if I can make amends. And yes, most Western European countries have high percentage of English speakers, especially Finland, since English has been widely used, along with Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Belgium, while known for having three main languages, including Flemish, also uses English, so if it's possible for me to go to other countries in Europe, I'll have to take a language school so I can learn and speak their language.

Canada. I personally don't think many out of that list are the best to move to, and even though the healthcare is "free" in Canada, it lacks in quality. I mean, you could be waiting in the hallway for up to a WEEK just to get a room. My cousins live there, and my mom/father were born in Canada so I would know. I live in the United States and I agree this isn't the right time to move here. No offense to our president, but I think he has made it his duty to screw over Americans. I mean, Obamacare is a million times worse than any healthcare system out there. You'd think that they would AT LEAST have the website ready for citizens to sign up? No. It was broken for WEEKS! How many Presidents does it take to start a new form of healthcare?! One too many I'll tell you that!

Speaking about Europe, the EU (European Union) has its benefits of using a widespread use of money (Euros) but there are many problems with Europe like Socialism and high taxes. That is why I say Canada.

The reason why I like Canada is the food and Candy. Man, all the Chocolates like "Aero" (which can also be obtained in Europe) are simply amazing.

And the free healthcare... lengthy waits can be problematic, and Obamacare's worse, as you mentioned. As for EU, they're still struggling to try and make a full recovery.

 

Now, I would go for Auckland (New Zealand), though I didn't add it because while it is highly rich and diverse, it is located all the way in the Pacific, which is beyond out of my reach, as I'm in the Atlantic Area, sadly.

Oh and if you are going to the East, you will also have to worry about Region Lockouts (most electronics use them) and the different electric outlets. Some European outlets are only one pin! It looks like an Audio port man, it's so weird! I saw your profile. You have Sony consoles right? PS3 etc. Then you'll be fine. Sony thankfully doesn't do region lockouts on their game consoles. That being said, your PAL games will run on a NTSC and vise vera.

Move to Canada! Im from Toronto and i really like it here. Second i would live in Vancouver BC close to where BronyCAN takes place. But there are also MLP cons in toronto like CANterlot con and other cons like Fan Expo (Cathy Weseluck and Tara Strong came last year). 

 

Canada has a lot of nice people and is one of the best countries to live in as we are very peaceful and does not get involved in a lot of wars. Plus free healthcare, well actually you pay that through tax which is 1 con i can think of living in Canada is the tax.

Been mistaken for one myself.. Living on the border I guess has some affect... + you can still pass on down and hitup brony con!...

 

But why settle for toronto? so many nicer places all over up there! I've stayed in a quaint little spot called "Cold Lake" a few times. WAY up top there. The weather is pretty fun, at least in summer..

 

Middle of July and theres like 4-5 ft of snow at night, and gone by noon..

Ski in the evening, and dirt bike by noon the next day.. it was a blast!

You should come to Canada, we're really socialist here.  I second Dashie on not only BronyCon, but the weather in Vancouver is really good, and it's an all around beautiful place.  You're living in Peurdo Rico now right?  You're going to think Toronto is like a flash freezer for 6 months out of the year (And I consider Toronto warm as shit).  Then again, living in Vancouver is expensive, but you'd have a better chance finding a good job in Vancouver than Toronto, if that's a concern at all.  As for healthcare, even though the waiting times are stupid long (It depends how serious your condition is), the quality of the actual healthcare is fine.  I think Canada may be a little more culture shock for you, but I haven't been to Frankfurt so I can't make a good comparison.  I mean, Canada is heavily westernized, there's a ton of open space, Toronto has a ton of stuff to do in, they get awesome bands to play their because of the Molson Amphitheater, and you're close to Quebec if you feel like visiting the frenchies.  I pop by Toronto ever summer to catch Dave Matthews Band, and I've never had a bad time there.

As I explained, my local airport only has Toronto as its flight destination. Originally, they had Montréal as well, but for unknown reasons, it got closed, so Toronto is the only way to go, unless they can add more destinations in Canada, like Vancouver and Ottawa.

so im going to suggest Sweden. for a couple of reasons. 1: every citizen is given a firearm and trained to use it causing crime rate to nonexistent. 2: it has free health care as well. 3: great school system. 4: its still in Europe so you can still explore easily. 5: it is a neutral country. .  6: it has good people.

I'm seriously laughing my ass off right now, the way you quote a nestle "Aero" bar makes it sound like some delicacy.  I made it a personal goal to consume an Aero bar once a week, but THEY CHANGED THE FORMULA RECENTLY, they're all rounded now, it looks stupid, and they don't melt in your mouth as easily.
