gaming Is it wrong if I defend the Wii U, platformers, and Nintendo themselves?

Lets Just Face it, Nintendo is dying out. The only nIntendo Games I still play are Pokemon and Super Smash Bros Brawl. And the pokemon games are getting worse and worse. Like what was nintendo thinking with "fairy types".

First of all, you base Nintendo's "death" solely on what interests you.  What about Mario and Zelda games?  There are people who play those too, you know?  No one cares if you miss out on the awesomeness that is Super Mario 3D World.

Also, I can see why you think the Pokemon games are getting worse and worse, if you're a twat.  X and Y are the best Pokemon games, bar non.  They improved on all mechanics and made the gameplay flow perfectly.  Also, you don't need to write up a flow-chart just to EV train your Pokemon.  Criticizing the existence of the Fairy type is like criticizing the leveling system in the game.  It's such a generic thing.

Let me explain something my genius brain managed to figure out.  Game Freak could have made a new awesome sounding "Storm type" or whatever, but then most of their new Pokemon would have to be of that type to make sure balance was maintained.  By creating the Fairy type, they were able to improve on existing Pokemon and make them more interesting, while freeing themselves up to make more new and exciting Pokemon.  Same with mega evolutions, changing how critical hits worked, and about a dozen other things.  And without making a riot-nerfed character like Metanight.

Yeah, your preferences are obviously universal. /I said with clear sarcasm/

I honestly dont like Wii U... Sure, touchscreen... Yaaay... But nah :P Nintendo is running out of ideas. All they're doing is making their gaming consoles bigger, 3D, have touch screen... Go on and hate on me I dont care. I still think that Wii U sucks.  :comeatus:

Let's Just Face It, Activision is dying out. I don't play any of the games they make, and the Call of Duty series is getting worse and worse. What were they thinking with releasing the same plot and mechanics 7 years in a row?

I think I better put my own words into it

I'm not as interested in the XBone or PS4

First off, in terms of FPS, I'd rather play on a PC than a Console mainly cuz its primary controls is a Keyboard/Mouse combo.  Any FPS enthusiast knows that a Mouse is superior to an analog stick in terms of precision.  Even with auto aim, a stick is still a poor man's substitute for a mouse.  Most of the FPS or FPS-like games that were on the 360/PS3(Ex: The Bioshock franchise, Fallout 3/NV, Metro franchise, Saints Row 3 and 4, Transformers War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron) I bought on the PC because aiming is superior.  I tried aiming on an analog stick, and I hated it.

Second off, many current and/or upcoming games on the XBone and PS4 are ether coming to the 360 and PS3(Ex: Watch Dogs, Metal Gear Solid V, Destiny, Titanfall, Middle Earth: Shadows of Modor, Wolfenstein) or will also hit the PC.  In some cases, I can play the game right off the bat without spending $400-500 on a new console.

The only game I'm interested in for the XBone/PS4 is Kingdom Hearts 3.  But it doesn't justify buying a clunky new console with zero backwards compatibility.  Even so, with word of SquareEnix stating that they will port KH3 to anything on an x86 architect, I wouldn't be surprised if it hits the PC.

The Wii U, ironically, interests me because it has games I can't get on a PC(Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost Worlds, X, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros, etc).  So I'm sticking with that.  But even so, I may not buy another console in the future, especially if Nintendo decides to go down the same route as Sony and Microsoft.

I was stating MY opinion, not saying what I thought was the "universal preference." And I forgot to mention some other games I still play that I just remembered today: New Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Mario 64. I am sorry for insulting games that you like. Peace?

Being a Nintendo Junkie myself, I say defend Nintendo hardcore!  My first console I ever got was the SNES with Super Mario World.  I loved it.  I still remembered the NES before that and I loved that too.  If I had a Wii U I'd probably live on that for Netflix and all the great Wii/Wii U games coming out.  Thus being said; Series like Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Metroid, and all the other series Nintendo has are ducking awesome!

platformers:  MAKE MORE OF THEM NOW!!!  Seriously who upped and killed this wonderful creation?!  Give me more 2D classic Marios, MegaMans, make another Zelda 2D side-scrolling platformer, a new Metroid 2D, just like... UGH!!!

I died inside when the Platforming/Action love died.  I love so many old games JUST for that part of it. I want to whoop some arsenal and jump like a fool to do it!

Why would anyone call the WiiU garbage? It is created by the great company that brought us all the Super Mario and Pokemon games which you obviously won't see on the PS4 or XBOX1. I prefer the PS4 myself but every gaming console has its great points and share of games.

Opinions are opinions. I can't dislike Nintendo because I think they're one of the most original developers in gaming. Lots of people talk about how great the Gamecube and Nintendo 64 were for all kinds of gamers, and about how proud they are to still have those consoles. I still have both, and I agree. Nintendo doesn't pander to a specific demographic, so you can find titles on any Nintendo console for casual gamers, hardcore gamers, and everyone in the middle, and the games that they specifically develop seem to be universally fun, like Super Smash Bros. or long-running franchises like Mario or Legend of Zelda. Not to mention Nintendo shook things up with an immersive console like the Wii, ages before Sony and Microsoft jumped on the motion-control bandwagon.

I feel like Nintendo has always felt like it was making games for everyone, and there was never a feeling they had any sort of target audience. I don't have anything against Playstation or Xbox, but I don't think anyone should be ashamed to enjoy Nintendo games, either.

I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

I really should just have my opinion on Nintendo available for copy and paste. So I'll give the condensed version.

Nintendo has more money in the bank and less debts than Microsoft or Sony. They can afford to take a massive hit. They won't be going anywhere.

The Wii U is a great system. The tablet controller is innovative and just needs the right game to really make it big. The Wonderful 101 is pretty close though.

The 3DS is the best system out of all the new systems and is the one really worth buying unless you are just into shooters.

Nintendo made the game industry what it is and people should be respectful of their place in the video game industry.

Nintendo will always have a spot in my heart. They still got new games coming this year. Just ignore your brother. You like what what you like.
