Flash Sentry returns as a pony

Okay, guys. I'm going to throw this out there right now. I don't actually hate this guy. Doesn't mean I'm happy about his existence, just indifferent. But now he's back and we will have to deal with the cards we were dealt. But equestrian girls was a long time ago and we all knew he would come back eventually. Hell, he was placed as Twilight's love interest. You can't just sweep that under the rug and play the denial card. But he's back and we'll have to deal with it like adults. If they can give him a personality, rather than being a plot convenience, then he is welcome to return to me. Until then, just stay in the corner, Flash Gor- Sentry, were just not ready.

Anyway, Flash was just there in the new episode just to be there not really a reason for him to be there not really much you can do with him. I don't hate the guy, but I can deal with him being there for this one time.

Seriously, have you people learned nothing from the last time people got up in arms over a background character? The staff are trying to add some fun away from the main cast to make the show more lively. Are you seriously telling me that having one pony be in/not be in the background ruins the whole thing? Stop it, just come full stop. Need I remind you people who's in charge of putting this show together?

 

When he showed up I thought "Oh hey Flash, how ya doin--WHAT. Where'd he come from?" Then after Meghan confirmed it was Jason's idea to give him a cameo, I wanted to thank him for making my points in the Save Flash Sentry thread completely irrelevant. While chuckling.

 

Please just laugh it off and move on, okay? I hate seeing this kind of shit.

It honestly sounds to me like late in production or mid-production, Jayson Thiessen just decided to shove him in the background.  Like I said in the episode thread, it really makes sense that he's in there.

 

I'm a big canon person, and I don't like the idea of making a character for one movie and then dropping him off the face of the earth.  So I have no problem with him being in the background of a few episodes  when Cadence is there to remind us he still exists.  I'm not saying that I want him and Twilight to fall hopelessly in love and get married, but what difference does it make if they put him as a guard when Cadence is there since that is his job?

   I almost missed him the first time, then it suddenly hit me, it was Flash Sentry. So Meghan McCarthy said he would not be a character in season four, that was in June of 2013, and she is not the one who makes all of the decisions for MLP, there are others who have a stake in this too, the crew does have superiors. Regardless on how you feel about Flash Sentry, maybe he would have a better story here, than he had in Equestria Girls, don't just write him off, it wouldn't be fair, use some of that love and tolerance, whether you use that or not is irrelevant, if you gotten over Twilight Sparkle as an alicorn princess, show more affable sentiment for Flash; the fandom would be better for it.

What is there to like? He's literally the most generic, pointless character that could possibly be thought up. Every single one of his scenes in EG could have been cut out and the movie would have been noticeably better.

How many appearances of King Sombra did we get? What about Queen Chrysalis? It doesn't really matter if he only appeared briefly. He had a role in EG that made the movie noticeably worse and for that reason I don't want to see him anywhere in the normal show.

 

 

If they go deeper into his character, (which they probably will do next season), we might like him better.

And all of his scenes could have been scrapped and replaced with something that wasn't annoying and pointless.

 

 

Nothing cliche about him, just a background pony with a couple of speaking lines. That's it.

Not at all. Derpy has only had one speaking scene and it served a purpose that worked.

A main character who is a teenage girl having a love interest with a slick haired "pretty boy" teenage guy isn't "lacking original thought"? Pretty much the whole movie was a cliche. Typical high school drama with a plotline that made no sense whatsoever. Bleh.
