Did we have enough crusading already?

are you already fed up with the CMC like me? I cannot help but mentally cringe and imagine that someone is pouring salt and lemon juice in one wound of mine whenever I hear that a CMC episode is coming. And actually those are the episodes that I almost never re-watch.

All of this crusading, and doing stupid things to get their cutie marks is already very repetitive and utmost boring. It's swallowing away all the appeal and charm of the 3 characters and turning them into 2-dimensional characters with no personality each time they decide to do some more 'crusading', like what the thing that keep them together? finding their cutie marks? I feel like there's no connection whatsoever between them.

It seems like they never gonna get their cutie marks, at least till the show ends for good, but I think that they should get them now because we already know what their talents are, which leads me to think that 'The Show Stoppers' came way too soon, because that was the episode that had shown their true talents, even if they didn't notice it, then in the following episodes they fall in the same idiotic behaviour of doing random stuff to see if they could earn their cutie marks, it's almost painful to watch.

However, the good episodes of them are the ones that doesn't focus in crusading, like 'Sleepless in Ponyville' or 'Ponyville Confidential', ok that last one included crusading yes, but it was more focused on the work of journalism to the point were the whole cutie mark stuff was bg subject, I loved/hated Diamond Tiara as antagonist there.

There are so much potencial if they get their cutie marks now. Sweetie is a singer, Applebloom is an artist(?), and Scootaloo is expert in acrobatics (?). They can do so much in the show instead of these crusading things

well have they really crusaded in season 4?
sure it's been mentioned,

but more as a gag.

Apple bloom saying she'd get a best sister cutie mark is clearly the writers goofing off.

Scoots making rainbows eyes roll for getting a glad carring cutie mark,

is kinda like the writers having fun with us (trolling lol if you will).

it's not like it's eating an episode.

or even 5 mins.

it's not getting a song.

it's a small aspect of a show.

it's going to be on their minds,

or does it bug you to know their thinking about it?

I love the CMC, but their episodes are so boring... "LETS TRY AND GET OUR CUTIE MARKS IN SOMETHING THAT WILL NEVER BE A PROFITABLE SKILL YAY!!!"

I really need the episode in which one of them gets their cutie mark before the other two (preferably not Applebloom, that'd be too obvious) and all three have to deal with it. Maybe it can be a mini arc that happens across a few episodes here and there, so it doesn't feel too rushed. Maybe they have a falling out over jealousy, etc. I hope they don't drag out them getting their cutie marks until the end of the show, because there's a lot that can advance their characters.

Well this show is for little girls and the CMC episodes are to cater to this audeince. They deal with something we no longer really need to, finding ones place or what you like to do, or bullying. I feel the reason they haven't gotten a cutie mark (We all know what they will be, Apple Blooms is something apple related. Scootaloo is a scooter  and Sweetie Belle has two bells with a ribbon.) is for the little girls who watch the show. The only reason I can forsee them not give them cutie marks is if they do a CMC spinoff series. The episodes are cute and not all are doing stuff to get thier cutie marks. Hearts and hooves day and sleepless in ponyville don't go into weird, some what dangerous activities.

Yeah the CMC episodes have always been my least favorite. At first I thought it was interesting but now I'd rather see more episodes with the main characters. They aren't really going anywhere, maybe they should get more development and instead of showing all the things they aren't good at they should hint more with their talents. I hope one of them gets theirs soon to make an interesting story.

Yeah, Rainbow Dash even seemed annoyed when they went right back to it, but they will need the perfect situation.  After all they were so close way back in Show Stoppers, but they were all using each other's special talents, so nothing stuck.  I actually can't decide if I would like them to get their cutie marks together, something that would be incredibly awesome for them, for for them to each earn them in a domino fall of episodes, something that would really depress the final member.  A sort of "last of the cutie mark crusaders".

Just give the Cutie Mark Crusaders their cutie marks already. It has been played out, and is starting to grow annoying, to me that is. Or change something about them, to make them more interesting.

I don't think so.

The episodes aren't really meant to act as a plotpoint or filler or anything of that sort. It's a traditional episode style of FiM that's been around since the show's earlier days of season 1. The Crusaders and their quest for their Cutie Marks are THE sideplot of the show, and in a way are like the other half. Their misadventures and struggle to get their Cutie Marks are what allow us to see the characters work to find who they are, giving a sense of development and showing how their impatience is their problem.

Way I see it, as long as we don't get another Ponyville Confidential, how bad could it get?

i like the idea of the arc, but I don't know...that sort of continuity doesn't blend with the organization of the current show you know, season premieres and finales are usually 2 parters with a big conflict while the episodes that are in the middle are normally SoL situations, there is continuity between episodes but those are something subtle.

oh no no no no! that 'it's for little girls' thing is so season 1 when the brony phenomenon was already starting. The writers, the producers and Hasbro themselves are aware that there is a large fanbase of adults behind MLP. I'm not saying that MLP is made just for bronies, but they're making stories with this ponies that not only little girls can relate but everyone in general.

And how do you know what they cutie marks would look like? suspicious  :okiedokielokie:

On one hand, it's becoming one of those storylines that's been so dragged out people won't care anymore.

But on the other, once they have their marks, what exactly can the writers DO with them???

"It's like I found a piece of myself I didn't even know was missing!"

How do you think WE feel?!

In my opinion, I found them dreadfully annoying in season one, looking to them as something the writers threw in for the sake of it. They were annoying brats that ran around doing nothing particularly likeable. But eventually, they grew on me, and I now really love the CMC. I actually wish there were mire episodes for them. I used to wish there were less episodes for them.

Stare Master is the only episode I didn't enjoy much the first time I watched it. Fluttershy's exasperation became my own. Felt so tired by the time the episode ended. Hasn't been a problem with subsequent viewings. Maybe because I already knew how things were going to turn out.

With that aside, I've enjoyed and continue to enjoy the CMC, whether they're after their cutie marks, learning some life lesson, or it's a slice of life episode. The most recent episodes haven't had them desperately gunning for their cutie marks though. The outcomes have been fairly predictable for me with them enduring some typical childhood scenarios, but as usual I'm taking my ponies at face value. They're still adorable and amusing to me, so I'm content to take that in. Don't need anything deeper than that to enjoy them.

It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't reveal their exact talents in season 1.

Also, we're at the point where the Wonderbolts clearly wan't RD, but she's not a Wonderbolt yet? This show needs to movvee onnnn.

I like CMC episodes as much as any other episode, but they have to get the cutie marks eventually. If they can turn Twilight into an alicorn, then you can put a mark on a filly's ermm... flank. I'm sure they could still be called the Cutie Mark Crusaders since it's not like the name ressembles "The Get Your Cutie Mark Club".

Also, I feel like your (Motion Spark) is giving someone a blowie when I see it xD.
