Yes and no. She's probably my least favorite of the mane six, although i wouldn't say i "hate" her.

I just find her to be too much of a boring goody two shoes and think she has been overly nosy this season. It has less to do with her alicornism, and more to do with the way she's being written.

There's plenty of people out there who responded strongly in opposite to all the harsh criticism and now feel strongly defensive and love for twilight. I'm not one of those people. Some of us still don't like it. Until the writers actually do something good with it to PROVE it was a good idea worth supporting, i will continue not to like Princess Twilight.

 

 

Oh, its just a bunch of loud-mouthed lunatics who won't shut the f*** up and accept that Twilight has wings. By the way, WHY IS TWILIGHT HAVING WINGS SUCH A BIG PROBLEM?!?! I honestly don't care about her wings. Its the "title" that i find issue with and the the way they've been portraying her lately. I don't HAVE to support Twilicorn, and don't for my own reasons. I have solid reasons/concerns which cause me to not support Twilicorn, and hate when people try to generalize all of into the "change-hating anti-wing" category.

Statistics show that no, she is not being hated. In the "2013 Report on the Herd" Census, it showed Twilight was the most loved character by a lot. Reason is because the most of people who come into this fandom can easily relate to her. A lot of people who come to the fandom have ADD, OCD, mania, or other things that may be seen in Twilight, so they can see her deal with them, and it kinda helps them themselves. But that was a year ago.

Have the numbers changed? Well, they just did the 2014 Census recently, and soon the results will be in. But EQD asked in a poll their favorite character (which is most likely chosen by which pony you best relate to) and Twilight still one by a lot. And that wasn't that long ago. So I'm gonna bet Twilight will still be in the lead (for the mane 6 at least) in the results of the 2014 Report on the Herd Census. That would also show then that the majority of fans still would have these "disorders" as society calls it.

 

So in answer to your question,

No, Twilight is not becoming hated.

While Twilight isn't my favorite pony, I still think the alicorn hate is a bit ridiculous. Sure, it has died down a lot, but that should have happened about a month after Magical Mystery Cure, not after several months. People just hate change, I suppose. As for the "Mary Sue" thing, people just label anything that has somewhat higher power than your average character as a Mary Sue. It's not like she's claiming herself to be the "supreme overlord of Equesrtia" and she's going to overthrow Celestia.

Personally, I don't hate her. She has more of a neutral appeal to myself, because of that I sort of 'ignore' her in a sense where she becomes forgotten. I don't know what all the ranting about her new status all about. Twilight Sparkle, being the alicorn she is today, doesn't effect how I 'see' her. 

 

So I would say that yes, she is becoming hated, but of course only by the amount of people that do hate her for their own reasons.

There's actually a lot of uncertainty and issues going on with Twilight so the hate levels for Twilight are not really high, they're actually pretty low and she hasn't changed in terms of her character; she's still the same Twilight we all know and love so there's really no hate for Twilight in my view.

 

She's not what most call a "Mary Sue", she has flaws that make her unique and they're partially the reason why many people still love her. They just complain about simple things that they believed would change the dynamic of the show when in reality, they don't.

I honestly don't get all the hate either....My liking of her hasn't changed since she's become a Princess and alicorn. Even if she is my least fave pony of the mane 6. I don't hate her. I just don't really care for her. I'm neutral on her, basically. If anything, Fluttershy has become more hated, for whatever reason.. Which I'm rather dissapointed in, she used to be popular.But it seems she's taking all the flak right now. 

 

 

 

 

The only thing I find wrong with princess twily is that no one treats her as a princess. She's treated as a normal pony but all the other princesses have been showed much more respect. 

 

As she has said numerous times, she doesn't want to be treated as a Princess or royalty. She's happy living as a normal pony. Even if she has the odd Royal duty to do, she takes care of it. But doesn't let it get in the way of her friendship with the other mane 5

Why the f*ck should I care that someone don't like, or even hate what I like? I really don't care, and I don't want to prove anything. If people hate Twilight it's okay, they probably just don't

Well, at first I was mad because of Twilicorn, like many others. The main reason why I was furious that she became a Princess, this is what it looked like another stereotype, when which is the main character of someone great. But now I guess I understood that it's awesome, It's allows to show how much she is not ready for it. I really enjoy every moment when she makes mistakes, because it's uncliched . I hate cliches. And the reason why I love this cartoon is, is because this cartoon breaking all cliche from every kids cartoons. Someone says that she's not learning from past mistakes. It's true, and it makes her character quite controversial. 

 

Simply: the reasons what makes people hate her, makes me love her. I really like what direction now there is a character in Twilight she goes to the failure of the part of the Princess. I mean, there is all the uniqueness of the character Twilight as the protagonist is that she is not always successful in all. She often makes mistakes, she often goes wrong. This making her character "alive" Now, after episode 7: "Bats" a lot of people condemn Twilight because she sided with AJ in "Kill bats, kill bats!" point. When I saw this, I was really surprised, and to be honest I was glad, I'm glad that Twilight is far from perfect, she's not the stereotypical Princess, who always doing the right things, no matter what.

I did have a small thing against Twilight ages ago but now I quite like her, she may be my least favorite of the main 6 but thats just because I like the others more not because I like her less. I have no problem with her having wings and being a princess, in fact I quite like the idea. She is disliked more by some but not being hated.
