MadDoggyca 710 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 Hasbro announced that they have made plans for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic to last another 5 years. If one 26 episode Season airs per year: then 5 seasons equals to 130 more MLP episodes, that equal to about 2,990 more minutes of pony content (not including some more movies maybe.)THAT'S A LOT OF PONIES! 17 Photo Finish, that's her name. Makin' every-pony pretty is her number one game. She do what she do, to make you more than you. No-pony gonna care if what we share is true. Cause lies are beautiful, the truth is not. Come on little mare, you better shake that plot. You know that's what they really all came to see.
Scootalove 10,689 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 It sure is! I just hope there will be no decline in quality during the next five years, so I'll keep my hopes at a low/moderate level. 9 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules

Not necessarily because I don't believe you but I want to show this to my friend :3 Anywho, having 5 more years of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic would be great, but I honestly think the shows just going downhill from here. Sugar Cube 4,843 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 (edited) I am fairly certain that the words at least were used during this webcast. MLP: FiM is expected to continue for at least five years, but it could go on even longer. I'm sure that MLP's future isn't set in stone to end in five years. It could be very prosperous for Hasbro in five years time, in which case it might go on even further. While I'm sure plenty of people have valid reasons to believe that Hasbro is simply milking its cash cow and that the quality of the series may decline at some point, I'm going to stay optimistic and open-minded until I have reason not to. It's highly possible that the show goes the way of SpongeBob SquarePants and loses its charm along the way but I'm just going to try and enjoy the ride until it's no longer fun. I can understand wanting to see the show end on a high note though, and with it continuing this long it's hard to picture it maintaining its magic. Sir Wulfington 276 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 Hasbro said it earlier during an investor conference. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2014/02/discussion-5-more-years-what-do-you.html I will be shocked if the show hasn't devolved into irredeemable garbage within five years. I though a fifth season was risky enough, but another five years? There are only so many good ideas for episodes before the writers are forced to come up with more and more bullshit to justify any more. I predict massive retcons and series-destroying plot holes (than again I'm not so certain the latter hasn't already happened. 4 Proud Supporter of Communism
Side Bird 566 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 Five years? Wow that's a lot! That's awesome! I just hope that they don't start to have it decline and the series becomes a spongebob. 1 Don't be a dweeb ~Gilda
Bird Mom 900 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 Intresting.. I heard about that also. "Pay attention to these petals, Steven. The petals' dance seems improvised, but it is being calculated in real time based on the physical properties of this planet. With hard work and dedication, you can master the magical properties of your gem and perform your own dance!" Forlong 1,726 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 So...I'm guessing this will end everyone asking "will this be the last season?" At least until season 9. Dusty Soul 2,611 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 Well, I hope there's no decrease in quality. I'd hate to see it go the way Spongebob did. At least another 5 years, I'm pretty excited to see what new songs are released in those years. 3 Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube
FoxyCryptid 4,330 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 (edited) To the people making the Spongebob parallel here... There's one key difference, the reason Spongebob went bad was due to the creator getting tired of it. He wanted the movie the be the big finale but Nick decided to tell him he couldn't end the show. With FiM we have staff and cast that actually love working on it and being a part of it. PrymeStriker 408 February 15, 2014 Share February 15, 2014 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic For the next five years?! I'm sorry. A fourth season was okay. A fifth season had me skeptical. To keep this show running for another five years, it's impossible for this show not to get old by then. No amount of faith in the writers or the developing staff will change the inevitability that MLP will decline in quality like all of those before it.

At least until season 9. lol that episode is the definition of overhyped garbage If they do intend to have the show last that long, then I'd want to wait for it to play out. There are plenty of shows that were strong and consistent through out a long period

That show has been running for damn a century and it's still good. That show has been running for damn a century and it's still good. 51 years =/= a century. Also, that's one of the very few examples, if not the only example, of a show not becoming total crap after an extensive running time. The Simpsons, Family Guy, Spongebob Squarepants, and Phineas & Ferb are prime examples of a cartoon declining in quality after a long period of time. This show's fourth season so far hasn't been helping in terms of an optimistic future, either.
