What are people's standards for giving ratings (out of 10) to new episodes?

Well, I don't sit there with a checklist of things and requirements it needed to meet.

 

I just write up my review and think of a number I feel appropriately describes how I felt about that episode.

 

One thing I will say, though, is that (since I'm so subjective ) If Rarity doesn't have a major role, it's almost impossible for it to get a 10/10. Not saying that because "Hey, I'm a huge Rarity fan." I'm saying that because I weight the episodes on how they make me feel, and when Rarity has a major role, I get the feels, man Some giddy, some not. Either way, Rarity has that kind of effect on me

It's just gotta be in character and have more than one mane 6 for it not to get a low, low rating, too. Just seeing one mane 6 and then some CMCs or something makes the episode so much less interesting to me. Also, if I saw a bunch of the same pony having major roles in previous episodes, it's going to drop it down some. One of the reasons I had hated "Flight to the Finish" so much is that we had just seen an episode with RD in a major role the previous week in "Daring Don't," which kinda made me like "I'm tired of RD, gimme something else." That doesn't apply to Rarity or Applejack, though, since I like both of them so much

So yeahh
