Can anybody tell me why there shouldn't be a live action film of FIM?

The fact is that we are used to the cartoon versions of the ponies that wouldn't fit within a real world setting, and we would prefer to keep them with the same color pallet which would have to change in a live action film.

Basically it would just look and feel odd for us too see the cartoons that we love in a real world setting, just look at the video my little dashie.

Live action movies based around cartoons and video games, just never seem to turn out right or even good.  I'm hard pressed to think of more than three good ones and on top of that you'd have to be asking hasbro to spring for a big budget movie that could be a flop.  They can't even spend the money to make their merchandise look right, you think they could do an actual movie?

Because it would be very, VERY hard to translate to live action considering it's a cartoon with all non-human characters. The closest you could get was something like they did with the Smurfs.

Because they fit each other as a fist to a nose.

From the same reasons we don't see much dubstep in the middle of classical music composition or vice versa. They're simply different genres of art which doesn't suit each other well.

I have to admit that though that the smurfs movie sucked!

I haven't really seen either one, just a few minutes of the first on TV.

I thinks the only issue would be training tons of real ponies to understand friendship *~*

Just kidfing, I think it would be cute if there was one though, if it was done well :3

I don't like the idea of a live action film because of aesthetic reasons. The fact that they're ponies makes a huge difference for some reason, and I believe in your other topic you said something about the live action film being humanized?

I like them as poniez, brah :D

Honestly, to me, EQG was pushing it a bit (even though I like the movie.)

I just don't think we should mess with something so enjoyable :D

Honestly, I get freaked out by any live action adaptation of an animated show. It just doesn't feel right.

And when it's a different species, with flying and magic? Nah, I'm good. Change is overrated. Ponies are best ponies.

Pretty much what everyone else said.

Besides look at what happened with Transformers, Hasbro's other big franchise. While I did like the first one the second and third were absolute crap. I'm hoping Michael Bay doesn't touch Beast Wars. Do you really wanna see My Little Pony FiM recieve a similar treatment? Do we really need any akwardly placed adult humor in FiM like we've seen in other Live Action Adaptations of other cartoons?

Yea, how would that even work? Would they use high end CGI animation, or would their be guys in freaking pony costumes? lol, or would they ACTUALLY use real ponies or something, which would actually be very awkward, well any live action film with realistic looking talking animals is kind of wierd IMO!^_^

Well, think about it for a sec. Cartoon ponies in the real world....Smurfs was bad enough. It's like Sonic 06. If you're gonna go with the idea of mutant talking animals in a real world, the sights are gonna look strange and out of place. Not only that, but the universes between the two crossovers would change and adapt to the new world, creating time rifts and space shifts and then we'd meet Dr. Hooves. I don't mind the idea, but the main reason why Bronies don't want it is the looks and feelings of it.

Actually classical is one of the few genres you can convert dubstep to, making them very suitable together, though the prime audiences which consists of the elderly and the young folk of today don't appreciate each other so much.

Hasn't every live action version of every cartoon ever sucked? does anyone remember when drake belle played as timmy in the fairly odd-parents movie? and all of the others that we have thankfully forgotten

Live action could never capture the spirit of the show, tho folks making those 3d animations are close.

also live action implies humans in it. so no. XD

But why would it be terrible and stupid?

Because it would just look ridiculous. We'd probably get something like the Smurfs movie, where they teach the Magic of Friendship to a lonely couple...or we'd get Transformers, where they'd try to keep them as a government asset. Besides, do you really think that the ponies could handle reality?
